Not just for Epson India but for the entire Epson family around the world. So we are celebrating the event show that comes just after Epson's 50th anniversary as a brand, which is June 125. I'd like to sincerely thank the team at Seiko Epson Corporation and Epson India, as well as all the people who helped make this dream come true. A warm welcome and thank you to the media. Your presence helps us share this moment with the many others in the world. I'm truly happy to be in India, a country that means a lot to me personally and is very important to Epson globally. With its fast-growing economy, young population, and digital progress, India offers great opportunities for growth and innovation. We are very excited to grow with India as it moves forward. Epson has already built a strong base here since we started in India in the early 1990s. We've grown a lot. We now have a wide sales network and over 400 service centers across the country. Today, Epson is a respected brand in India, with a turnover of over 2500 crore. We lead many product categories, especially inkjet printers. Our EcoTank printers, which use refillable ink tanks instead of cartridges, have helped us stay ahead. Globally, we've already sold over 100 million EcoTank printers, and more than 8 million units were sold in India. This new manufacturing facility shows our commitment to meeting local demand and supporting the government's Make in India initiative. We also hope to see more EcoTank printers used in government offices and public services. The plan for the plant to start operations in control is focusing first on EcoTank printers. Later, we may expand to making components and other products. While printers are the focus today, Epson is much more than a printer company. We are a technology company with deep expertise in precision engineering, imaging, and robotics. In India, we also offer products like textile printers, robots, business printing solutions, and visual imaging tools. This helps improve productivity in areas like education, manufacturing, healthcare, retail, and small business. Globally, our goal is to lead in sustainable technology and digital transformation. We aim to create products that are compact, energy-saving, and eco-friendly. India has a long history of caring for the environment. From ancient traditions to modern climate leadership, Epson shares this vision. We believe innovation should have a purpose and sustainability should be at the core. That's why we committed to becoming carbon negative and free from underground resources by 2050. We continue to develop technologies that perform well and protect the planet. The new facility is a symbol of our commitment to innovation, sustainability, local relevance, and long-term partnership, with strong support from the Seiko Epson and Epson India team. I'm confident this plant will set new standards in quality, speed, and responsibility. Looking ahead, we plan to grow our presence in India, not just as a market but as a center of excellence. The future is full of possibilities, and we are excited to explore them. Our people are key to this journey, and we'll keep investing in talent, agility, and meaningful innovation. We are also focused on improving the customer experience, not just through our products but by building strong relationships. A recent example is our acquisition of Fiery, a leader in digital printing technologies. Fiery helps improve color accuracy, workflow, and productivity. They also have a large development team in India, which strengthens our global capabilities. In short, we would like Epson to be known not only for our technology but for the positive impact we make on the environment, in digital spaces, and in society. Thank you again to everyone here today. This is the start of an exciting new chapter for Epson, and we are proud to share it with you. At Epson, we believe in the power of vision, not just as inspiration but as a guide to act with purpose, innovate boldly, and help build a better future. As we begin this new journey in India, we move forward with confidence and commitment, guided by our vision and values. Thank you very much.

Family members for making this into a reality. Today is not just the launch of this facility. It is the beginning of our powerful alliance that joins innovation with impact and purpose. We would also like to sincerely thank the EP team that we worked with for the last 18 months to reach this level and the recruit team for their tireless efforts in organizing this special event which you can see today finally make a grand success. Finally, we extend our heartfelt appreciation to the members of the media for their presence and support in helping us share these important milestones with the world. Thank you very much. Thank you.
J
Junkichi Yoshida14:16
Thank you for this. And you want to know the amount we put? But again, this is partnership, so this is not a single company investment in India. This is more like co-working with the Indian companies. So unfortunately today this is the first stage. So I'm not sure how much investment we are going to do for the future, but again, in the past history, Epson India sold 8 million units, so I think this facility will contribute to Make in India.
R
Reporter15:13
Uh, okay. So then the second question to you is the first production is EcoTank that you are going to show. This is our first production sample that they make here in India. So that will come about the first line about 20,000 units per month, and they want to set up maybe a couple of hundred people to start.
J
Junkichi Yoshida15:54
Uh, two or three years we want to expand as much as we want. That's I can tell. Yeah. Right. Thank you.
R
Reporter16:03
What is the product category you're looking at? You're looking at manufacturing only ink tank printers or also you're going to expand your product category with other?
J
Junkichi Yoshida16:13
That's a possibility. However, the volume that we want to establish come from the EcoTank. So especially because of the contribution to the customers to save the environment and save energy, EcoTank is probably the best product to start. So that's why we start the EcoTank here.
R
Reporter16:40
Last two questions, sir. What was your turnover in FY25 because you are given the data only for FY24 which is 2,400 crore? And how much you are looking at, what is the growth that you are looking at for the current financial year of FY26?
J
Junkichi Yoshida16:58
I have to answer when we say FY24, let me put it: from April 24 to March 25, our revenue is in excess of 2500. Okay, it's not to March 25, our revenues are in excess of 2500. CAGR over the past 4 years is about 11.9%. And how we look forward is that we definitely want to exceed the market growth at least in all the categories that we have been in. As on date, if you look at it, we are market leader in almost all the products we are selling. So either we are number one or number two. In case of imaging, our market share for the inkjet printers in specific which we have been speaking here is in excess of 45%. So that's where we are heading. And our projected revenues for current financial year in excess of 2900.
R
Reporter18:00
That's great. It should be close to 3,000 crore. Okay. I wish. Okay. Yeah.
That's a last question, sir. Sir, why did you choose Chennai to establish this facility, sir? That's my last question. Thank you.
J
Junkichi Yoshida18:17
We, our team together in India, searched for many months to find out the best locations and the best partnership. As I said, we want to shorten the lead time to start the productions. And we met Mr. So they are located here, that's the reason.
R
Reporter18:55
Yes sir, I have a question. Mr. Welcome to sir. Mic is not on.
Welcome to Chennai, sir. I have the privilege of thanks to the mic, sir. What is the specific target in the South Asian countries? Obviously you must have got a great feedback from Chennai. Other than Chennai, you must have your ideas and expanding your horizon. Where was the start you had and what kind of future you have in mind and could we envision any phenomenal growth over the next decade or so?
J
Junkichi Yoshida19:47
Uh, your first question is sorry, could you repeat the first question?
R
Reporter19:52
Oh, the South Asian countries, the impact, the feedback and value had a branch early branch.
J
Junkichi Yoshida20:00
Uh-huh. So the operation in India, the sales and marketing and services already established and we cover many, many categories from home to office to commercial to industry. Not only the printing areas but also the job projections, the robotics, our portfolio including semiconductor and co devices. So Epson India is leading the sales company to deliver those products and solutions. But the biggest area that we want to promote for now is the replacement of the laser technology to the inkjet technology in India because of the better technology for the environment. So that's why we choose the EcoTank, they are the big time printers at first. But the opportunities are many. Now as you see manufacturing industry in India growth, that's opportunities for the robotics and manufacturing. Also education, you have a huge population, still education is very important. The categories global president has mentioned, we are beyond printer company. We have our production system, our manufacturing solutions, we are into commercial and industrial printing areas.
E
Epson India Executive22:04
So each of the segments if you look at it have been having a different growth path that has been happening in the market. From our focused outlook, I would like to mention that education talks as one of the key requirement into the Indian market. As a nation, if you have to progress, we believe that education will be the first step for us to really lead on. So towards that extent, if you look at our home and SOHO printers would cater to that segment. The second part, if I have to look at it, the commercial and industrial printing is one where I'm not sure how many of you are aware. Just to keep you updated, we have printers which can print on a fabric, we can directly print on a cloth, and then we leave that forward. We have printers which we can print on, we call it as a label press, which is used for all the packaging industry across the various spectrums. So this is another area where we train. And most importantly, you have to qualify. We as a company are committed to sustained goals.
