About Satoru Shibata

During a June 2012 Nintendo Direct broadcast from Nintendo of Europe’s warehouse in Germany, Satoru Shibata announced the Nintendo 3DS XL. Shibata stated that the company developed the larger-screen hardware after receiving feedback from handheld fans. He noted that the system would not include an AC adapter, explaining that Nintendo decided to make the screen larger while keeping the purchase price "reasonable" and that many fans already owned a compatible adapter. Shibata also discussed the game New Super Mario Bros. 2, describing its "Coin Rush" mode and stating that after launch the company would offer additional downloadable content based on player feedback. Other announcements included the availability of a special character for Mario Tennis Open via QR code, and the introduction of a Sega representative who presented news about Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Hello everyone. My name is Satoru Shibata from Nintendo of Europe. Today I'm happy to do a Nintendo Switch unboxing. I'm actually touching it for the first time. Please allow me to touch it much earlier than you because this is my privilege. Okay, let's start the unboxing. Wow, this is the actual box — quite small and quite light. And this is the front, back, and Nintendo logo, many pictures and many warnings. Okay, so let's start the opening. Actually, from here on top you can see immediately the hardware and Joy-Con. Very nice color Joy-Con. Okay, top side: these two. First I will take the hardware. Wow, this is a real Nintendo Switch backside. Nice Nintendo Switch logo and the stand here — actually quite light. Very nice. Oh, okay, stand like this. You can show you? Nice. And important: two colorful Joy-Con that I want to show — neon blue on the left side, neon red on the right side — very nice size, perfectly fits my hand like this. And this actually can attach to the hardware. I will show you like right side. Nice sound like this. Now making a handheld mode. This is a very comfortable size. I like this one. I definitely will bring it on my business trip. Okay. And next item — maybe I want to show this really important item. This makes the Nintendo Switch attach to the TV, so home console. This is a dock, Nintendo Switch dock. This is a nice black item, black Nintendo logo here. And this actually can dock in very nicely and you can attach to the TV. Okay, other items — very important one. First, Joy-Con grip. That's Nintendo Switch — you can freely choose how to play. And this is one of the important items. You can attach the Joy-Con to here and play. Maybe I will try. Remove like this. Easily slide in. And this right side makes the Joy-Con dock like a dock. The light here and the feeling is really nice, very comfortable, very light. That's beautiful. So you can see this is really beautiful. And other items — I will quickly show this is Nintendo Switch important information. I'm not sure how important, so I'll put it here. And this cable, this HDMI cable, attaches to the dock to the TV. This is a cable. And oh, you can see this time including an AC adapter. This is really important. Okay. And last items — another important item: two Joy-Con straps. These protect you from throwing the Joy-Con into the very expensive TV and make it comfortable to play. So these two you can easily attach to the Joy-Con. So that's... oh, I think this is an old item. Now this is an empty box, but probably I will keep this box in my living room. This is a really nice box. Okay. Yeah, see all these items — beautiful items. Okay, that's all. So please look forward to the Nintendo Switch. Okay, I will try the Nintendo Switch. The switch I will switch on. But sorry, I cannot show you. Happy gaming.
