Hello everyone. I am Frederic, I work at Schneider Electric. I am very happy to meet you at the Eurelectric Power Summit. Electricity has become the most important energy source and the key to a decarbonized world. We will look at how to transform the grid together and prepare for the future. First, we need to achieve three things simultaneously: more sustainability with greater integration of renewables, enable electrification of energy use, and develop the prosumer concept with data sharing. Digital is key for this transformation. For distribution system operators, we need to make the grid more robust and sustainable, make smart investments to meet increasing electricity demand, and have distribution grid software to enable data exchange between prosumers and DSOs. KPIs and smart indicators are important. Today we have affordable technologies for a more sustainable grid, such as new transformers, automation, and SF6-free solutions. In the coming years, we will extend equipment lifespan, use data for maintenance, and promote circular economy. Robustness is critical; we passed a stress test during the pandemic. We need advanced software for grid simulations and cybersecurity. Investments should balance hardware and software. Finally, data exchange with users to encourage optimal energy use. The key message is to act now, not in ten years. We need a dynamic interaction between prosumer and DSO to prepare the grid for the next decade. If the grid is ready, electricity can decarbonize the world.
