Today, we're going to talk a little bit about digitalization. Semiconductor is ever changing environment. We hear just now we are expecting a much larger increase in environment, more than 50% in 2023, right. Now, Schneider is ready for this ever growing change and fast growth environment. What do you think, is the world ready or not? If you allow, could you share with us a sneak peek of your keynote today, on your topic of 'Is Digitalization Worth it to Drive Fabrication, Efficiency and Resiliency?'

Look, few points. We decided few years ago to focus on this industry exactly for what you say. Is that this industry is growing and we need it for our own products, right? We need it at Schneider Electric and we want to welcome entire industry so that they can grow their production but with the same carbon emissions that the ones they have today. So basically the challenge we have for this industry to support this industry is helping them to grow their production with less emission. Their chip means with the same amount of emission down the road in 2030 compared to now. The only way to do that is that they digitize their entire process, process and energy sources. By doing so, what we start to realize when we help fabs to gather data and to put them in the context is that we can generate efficiency, efficiency in production, much more resilience, much more security in the way they produce basically. But in addition to that, a new way to be resilient is to use less source of energy, right? And by combining those set of data, we are able to help the industry to reduce emissions per chip produced. This is basically where we want to go and that's why we've decided with Dallal to support the industry into this journey of resilience, agility and energy efficiency.

Thank you so much for your quick sharing. Now, on the other spectrum, maybe I move to Dallal. If you are able to share with us on your keynote speaking, 'Why Digitalization is Crucial to a Sustainable Fab Transformation?'
D
Dallal2:45
Yes, sure. Thank you for this question. So first of all, I would like to start by talking about why this is even a topic. Why are we speaking about sustainability? And it was mentioned also briefly by Fred. So first of all, we know that this industry is highly energy and water intensive and we also know that it generates a lot of waste. In 2020, for instance, the industry generated more than 60 million tons of CO2. And we expect more than 90 fabs to come online between now and 2030. So this will be increasing the carbon footprint of the industry if we don't do anything and the time to act is now. So now looking at sustainable transformation, the fab owners need to have a systematic approach to decarbonization, focusing on scope one, two and three. If we zoom into scope two and three, renewable energy adoption is absolutely the key. It's part of the answer, but also energy consumption reduction or energy efficiency. And here you really have the opportunity to leverage digital to make a meaningful impact. So how do you do that? So you start from the basics, starting by collecting data and monitoring, and then you get to data driven insights that will be across your organization, within the fab or across multiple fabs depending on your strategic priorities, either at regional level or at global level. And then you take smart, actionable decisions based on real time learning. And you are able to achieve all of this using machine learning analytics and artificial intelligence. We at Schneider Electric are able to really accompany the fab owners all the way from working together with them to build a digital transformation strategy that is aligned with the strategic priorities, that is actionable based on technology and architecture. And we can bring also our full suite of software and solution addressing sustainability, resiliency, efficiency.

Thank you. Thank you Dallal for sharing. And exactly because it relates so much in Malaysia, recently Bursa Malaysia also announced that they need enhanced sustainability report from most of the public listed company in Malaysia. So, we also will be sharing to our end customer, our partner, our ESG reporting. And how we can help our end users here to achieve them. Thank you once again for the quick sharing.
