We must acknowledge that we are entering an aging society, and in families and households, more generations are living together. Beyond taking care of our babies, we also want to take care of our elderly — grandparents — to the best of our ability.

Now let me talk about products for the elderly. Before these products came to be, what did we need to consider? First, many elderly people in Thailand still cannot access incontinence products due to income limitations or high product prices. About 50% of seniors have relatively low income and cannot afford to buy them. This issue is closely tied to the dignity of elderly individuals, as well as their physical and mental health. At Unicharm, we focused on developing products specifically to address this — products that are easily accessible and not a financial burden on the elderly.

This led to a new type of reusable incontinence pad, consisting of an absorbent booster pad and an underwear-style holder that differs from regular designs. The pad can absorb and then be repositioned for reuse. Two key points: first, it's accessible to everyone; second, many elderly people today may not receive care from family or children, so having a reusable product that can be washed and used again significantly reduces expenses. The sanitary pad can be washed and reused, directly addressing cost reduction for the elderly. It also helps reduce waste, since disposable diapers create significant garbage.

We all know that no matter how well we manage waste, it still takes time to decompose. But if we can reuse products like this, it contributes to reducing waste. Now, regarding distribution channels — for this product, our target is elderly people with low income. We partnered with the Tesco Lotus team, which has over 4,000 branches nationwide and is the most accessible to communities. We thank the management team for understanding the project's purpose and cooperating. This product is sold exclusively at Tesco Lotus. Let's give a round of applause.

Hello! First, I'd like to ask — how do you feel about coming to this event today?

I'm very happy. I really want to thank Unicharm for inviting us to join this event. The event name is — Unicharm Love Your Earth, right? It's about the possibilities of what we can do for a better world. It's truly a wonderful event.

Yes, I've seen other people attend events like this, and now that it's our turn, I feel glad to be part of something that encourages people to think about environmental care, starting from close to home. We've actually been doing this kind of thing for many years. Everyone can contribute a little, and it can bring out our potential to do even more for our world.

Now, as parents, what methods or ideas do you have for being part of environmental care at home?

At home, we do small things. We didn't set out to do something grand — we just looked at how to reduce the workload for people who have to process our waste. We sort our garbage — bottles, cans, and things that can be recycled — and make sure nothing harmful gets mixed in. That way, the waste collectors get cleaner materials. For example, with diapers my children use, I peel off the outer layer first, then roll and separate everything neatly. We try to make everything as orderly as possible.

And how do you involve your children in this?

Our two younger ones might still be too young to fully understand concepts like caring for the earth. But our older son, Tee, is growing up and starting to understand what we can do to help. The simplest thing is connecting with nature — teaching him to love nature, understand the importance of trees. We start small, like watering plants, so he knows these things are all around us and sustain us as humans living in this world.

Right. Even when playing with animals, like when he wanted to raise a snake, I asked where he'd keep it — he said in his room with his stuffed animals. We teach him to be gentle because animals have feelings too. When picking up small creatures, we remind him to be careful because they feel things. Even with ants, we don't crush them. We teach the children that all living things have life. This makes them gentler and also teaches them to be compassionate.

What Oy said is right. It's about how we live with nature and how to live without disturbing it as much as possible. We still need to live in this world, so the question is how to preserve it for all humans. That's the most important thing. As parents, it makes us feel even more strongly about preservation, because there are people who will inherit this world from us. That's what we want to encourage everyone to work together on — for the next generation.

Before having children, we might have felt more relaxed about things. But now we really notice — when we were young, the atmosphere, the temperature, everything was different. Now when it's hot, it's really hot. So we worry about what the future will hold. We want everyone to join hands, starting with simple things we can do in our daily lives — choosing products that also help protect the earth. That's something we can start with.

That's right. Choosing environmentally friendly products is a small starting point that can help reduce waste, pollution, and emissions. The more garbage increases, the more pollution and greenhouse gases we get, and the more severe problems like PM 2.5 become. I want everyone to pay a little more attention when buying household products, especially everyday items we use repeatedly. Look at the company's policies first — for example, Unicharm cares about the environment, and these aren't small, isolated policies. They keep expanding. If we all help, our country and our world will become more livable.

As a mother, when I choose something for my child, I think a lot about it. I even look at the company's policies — before bringing a product into our home, I check whether the company's values align with ours. If they do, then it's welcome in our house.
