About Aliette Mousnier-lompre

Aliette Mousnier-Lompré, CEO of Orange Business, stated in June 2025 that the company has built France’s first commercial quantum network, describing it as a "totally inviolable" system. She warned that a state capable of decrypting global data would gain a "huge competitive advantage," arguing that organizations must begin protecting against the coming quantum threat. In earlier interviews, she said Orange Business was on track with a plan to transform from a B2B telco player into a "leading European network and digital integrator," and that the company was targeting acquisitions in cybersecurity in Europe. She described sustainability as a "selection criteria" in customer tenders, noting that discussion of carbon emissions had become common in client meetings. In 2022 and 2023, Mousnier-Lompré said enterprise customers sought more "resilience, predictability, and reversibility" in their digital infrastructure. She argued that trust and sovereignty were central to Orange Business’s strategy, but cautioned against a "protectionist logic," advocating for an open yet controlled European data approach. She also said that generative AI was driving customer demand for data governance and infrastructure upgrades, as enterprises attempted to "embrace the new opportunities" of the technology.

First, how is the transformation of Orange Business going and are you on track?
A
Aliette Mousnier-lompre0:22
We are on track. Our transformation is progressing well. We have an ambitious transformation plan to transform ourselves from being a B2B Telco player toward becoming the leading European network and digital integrator. It's quite an in-depth transformation. We announced our plan early 2023 and we are definitely on track for the end of the year and also for next year, for 2024.

AI is a big topic right now, you mentioned it's buzzing in your speech as well. How is AI transforming your enterprise customer strategies?
A
Aliette Mousnier-lompre1:00
Enterprise customers are seeing the buzz around AI and they want to know more and adopt this technology to leverage, especially generative AI, to gain productivity and improve customer experience. They face various stakes and challenges: ensuring their data layer—data collection, governance, and privacy compliance—is at the right level, and making sure they have the right digital infrastructure in terms of connectivity, cloud, and cybersecurity to leverage AI's potential. We see lots of excitement, question marks, pilots, and experimentations in the market, and we expect this new wave of AI to move at scale beyond 2025.

How is AI impacting your own Orange Business strategy and are you putting GenAI to work?
A
Aliette Mousnier-lompre2:04
AI is impacting us at various levels. Like any business worldwide, we look at what AI can provide for our own efficiency, productivity, and capabilities. We have launched various internal experimentations. For instance, we're working with our legal team to see to what extent generative AI can help generate contractual templates or improve knowledge management around regulatory stakes. We also embed AI into our products and services as much as possible. Last but not least, we develop AI consulting capabilities and skills to support our customers with webinars, pilots, and concrete projects.

Good to hear. Apart from AI, sustainability is obviously a very big topic as well. How important is sustainability to you, your networks, and your customers?
A
Aliette Mousnier-lompre3:11
Sustainability is absolutely key, both as a citizen and as the CEO of a large company. The Orange Group has committed to being net zero carbon by 2040 and we are moving down that road step by step. We do everything we can to reduce CO2 emissions in our networks and operations, leveraging the circular economy by recycling servers, routers, and mobile devices. This topic is of increasing importance for our customers. Five years ago, it was rarely discussed in meetings; today, I don't see a single customer meeting where sustainability isn't on the agenda. It's becoming a selection criteria in tenders and RFPs, with sustainability-related grades carrying more weight in selection processes.

Earlier you mentioned Orange Business wants to be a leading digital network and digital integrator in Europe. What about other regions, or is this ambition limited to where Orange has its own networks?
A
Aliette Mousnier-lompre4:47
Orange Business is a global company, and we want to stay global. We have a global connectivity backbone serving the Americas, Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Middle East. Our teams are spread worldwide. While we have a European passport and DNA, and our primary markets are in Europe, we also have important activities in the Americas and APAC. Our natural leadership position is and will be in Europe, but we operate globally to serve customers everywhere. Outside of Europe, we are more selective and may leverage partnerships with regional or local players to complement our capabilities.
