Teddy was born from a clothing store opened in Rimini in the late 1950s to 1960s, catering to foreign tourists. Since our parents had a workshop under our apartment and no time for vacations, my sister and I invented a stall selling old toys and Mickey Mouse comics. I learned the commercial aspect was in my DNA. Today Teddy is a multinational with about 3,000 employees, retail in 40 countries and wholesale in 70. The values Vittorio Taddei instilled are captured in 'Il sogno della Teddy': build a great global company that earns to expand and create jobs, using net profits for social works; create a workplace where young and old work together finding meaning; every five normal people help less fortunate to work; and develop a courageous, competent management that transmits these values. I am inspired by employees who have been with the company for 20 years and show passion. The foundation is the fourth partner of the group, distributing profits to social causes. Gigi Taddei, Vittorio's only son who passed away in 2006, was a fragile boy of compassion. The foundation keeps his memory. These things were taught to me by my son.
