Hello everyone and welcome to the global reveal of a newly redesigned Subaru SUV. We are live here at the LA Auto Show right here in Los Angeles, California. We are your host for today. My name is Dasas Asher and I have been a brand specialist with Subaru for four years.

Sarah Haron0:22
I'm Sarah Haron. I'm a first-time Subaru buyer, but I'm on the market for a new car that can take me from the back country to the grocery store and has room for my growing box of toys.
D
Dasas Asher0:33
We're minutes away from learning about the new technology, the updated interior, and the new safety features of this all-new vehicle. Yes, and welcome to the Subaru family. You know, ever since I started with Subaru, it has been a wowing experience because Subaru is more than just a brand that provides great vehicles. They're actually a brand that shows that they truly care, and the Love Promise speaks for itself. From their commitment to the national parks, their compassion for pets, and the love and support they show to those who are in need, it truly speaks to Subaru's character. And you know, Sarah, you've been hearing a lot about how much Subaru cares for safety and showing love and support. How does that resonate with you?
S
Sarah Haron1:16
I mean, definitely, because as a person with a disability, I'm all about advocating for showing people what's possible and overcoming their obstacles, and I know that that's something Subaru advocates for as well.
D
Dasas Asher1:27
Yes, and you know, you have an amazing story and you have overcome a lot. Overcoming obstacles is what Subaru does best. If you've ever had the luxury of riding in a Subaru or actually own one, then you know firsthand how far Subaru can take you and how reliable they truly are. And from my understanding, you've had some great experiences in a Subaru already.
S
Sarah Haron1:50
It's true. My best friend in high school's first car was a Subaru, so that's the car we learned how to drive on snowy roads. It was the first car we ever took on a road trip. I mean, so many first memories with Subaru.
D
Dasas Asher2:01
Oh, so y'all have had a true Subaru experience. But you know what, let's get into the reason why we're here. Let's get into this big reveal. Let's do it. But be sure to tune back here afterward. We're going to keep talking about the features of this new vehicle.

Hello everyone. My name is Atsushi Osaki and I am the President and the CEO of Subaru Corporation. Thank you for coming to the Subaru press conference. I am very happy to share the all-new Subaru Forester with you today. I would like to talk about our vision as we look to the future of our industry. Subaru has been seeking the super difference, which provides emotional value as well as functional value to our customers. This has evolved into the Love Promise that connects Subaru, its customers, its dealers, and its communities. We will protect and expand the Love Promise and we will continue to focus on the US market. In addition to the Love Promise, Subaru will focus on what we do best: manufacturing. We have set a goal to become a world-leading company in manufacturing innovation and value creation. We are also well aware that the US market is shifting rapidly to the adoption of electric vehicles. In response to this market change, we announced an update to our electrification plan on August 2nd. In this update, we outlined how we will expand our electrified portfolio in line with market demand, including the announcement of new battery electric and hybrid electric models through 2030. In fact, by the end of 2026, Subaru will have four battery electric vehicles on sale in the US market, and another four BEVs by the end of 2028. But today, we have the new Forester, and I have more news. While the all-new Forester will begin sales with ICE engines, a next-generation hybrid Forester will follow in about a year. This will be the first-ever Subaru Forester hybrid in the present, the next step in our new electrification plan, with more electrified models to follow quickly. Both the ICE engine Forester and the Forester hybrid will maintain the traditional values Forester is known for: advanced safety, adventure, and durability. I hope you are as excited as we are about Subaru's evolution into the electrified era. Now I would like to invite Jeff Walters, President and COO, to introduce the new Forester details.

Jeff Walters9:26
Thank you, Osaki-san. And good morning everyone. It's exciting and it's a privilege to be up here for my very first time, and I get to show you our all-new 2025 Subaru Forester. In addition to this all-new Forester, today is also a very important day for Subaru of America, as today we kick off our 16th annual Share the Love event for 2023. We have set our most ambitious goal yet: we're going to raise $29 million for our partner charities, and that will bring the total of donations by Subaru of America and our Subaru retailers over 16 years of Share the Love to over $285 million. And that means a lot to our hometown and our national charities: the ASPCA, Make-A-Wish, Meals on Wheels, and of course the National Park Foundation. All right, on to the Forester. Next, I'd like to introduce two very important guests that we have here in addition to Osaki-san. They are the Forester product general manager, Mr. Kazu Tadaki, and we also have Subaru's chief designer, Yuki Takamatsu. Thank you, gentlemen. You know, Subaru debuted this Forester all the way back in 1997, and it has been a winner right out of the gate. Over 2.6 million Foresters sold in the United States so far. The Forester has been a Consumer Reports Top Pick for 10 consecutive years, an IIHS Top Safety Pick or Safety Pick Plus 26 times, and it has made the IIHS safety list every single year. After all, it is a Subaru. And the Forester has earned several other impressive awards and accolades. Forester took home MotorTrend's SUV of the Year twice, it's been a Car and Driver Top Five winner three times, and it's been awarded KBB's Five-Year Lowest Cost to Own. So you know that first Subaru Forester really changed what customers and consumers expected from an SUV and helped define one of the largest segments in the industry today. The Forester has been able to combine the capacity and capability of a truck-based SUV with the easy-to-drive nature of car-based SUVs. Or like we said when we launched the Forester all the way back in 1997, it is sport-utility tough and car easy. The Forester has real usable ground clearance and of course it has Subaru standard symmetrical all-wheel drive. It could go anywhere. And the Forester would create the template for our future products. And the videos you just watched show why the Subaru Forester has been so popular. It can live in two different worlds. It can handle the day-to-day activities of our customers and their children and friends. It can carry the tents, the groceries, gardening supplies, and of course their dogs. We don't forget the dogs at Subaru. The Forester is the family workhorse, and the Forester does it in all kinds of weather, and of course it does it with class-leading safety. And that Forester also opens up a new world of adventure when the weekend arrives, when that road disappears and you head out with a load of people and their gear. The Forester is uniquely qualified to be that dependable and capable tool that our buyers rely on. But now, as you can see with this all-new '25 Forester, we have refined the Forester concept. We have made it better looking with a new sleek and bolder design. It has an upgraded and more comfortable interior. We made it quieter and gave it a smoother ride, but it still retains all the great traits our customers have come to expect: durability, toughness, longevity, and of course safety. How about a few of the other changes? Well, underneath that new skin is a 10% stiffer chassis, and the Forester features our latest multimedia technology with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. And as always, standard across the model line is that Subaru legendary symmetrical all-wheel drive. And all Foresters will have improved X-Mode off-road capability, providing drivers with a faster response time and better handling, comfort, and control both on and off the road. That is the total package. That is what separates the Subaru Forester from the competition. This new fifth-generation Forester also features an updated version of our industry-leading EyeSight driver assist technology. The system is faster with a wider field of view and can now identify bicycles and pedestrians at intersections sooner, and when necessary, alerts the driver and applies the brakes to avoid collisions. And as my friend Osaki-san mentioned a few minutes ago, for the first time ever, this Subaru Forester will be offered with Subaru's next-generation hybrid powertrain, and that will be available about a year after launch. That is great news for Subaru, that is great for our customers, that is great news for our future. Thank you for your time today. Now we're going to show you a quick video that demonstrates the capability of this all-new 2025 Subaru Forester, and then we invite you to take a closer look. Thank you.

The all-new 2025 Subaru Forester continues to build on the Forester's rich history, allowing owners to explore their passions and live life to its fullest by showing them what love can do. The all-new Forester stands out in any environment with its modern redesign inside and out. The Forester has all the capability of a larger SUV but is more nimble and right-sized. Standard Subaru symmetrical all-wheel drive offers the power to go where adventure takes you. 8.7 inches of ground clearance lets you take more challenging terrain in stride. Dual-function X-Mode offers maximum traction in unexpected conditions like mud and snow. The Forester has room for what you love with ample passenger and cargo space, an extra-wide rear gate opening, and an available foot-activated hands-free power rear gate makes for easy unloading and loading. While you can keep any additional gear secured with standard roof rails. Inside, an 11.6-inch high-resolution touchscreen is available to give you access to the latest information and entertainment. It includes wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto integration, and wireless charging, so you can stay connected even when you're out here. The all-new Forester has upgraded Subaru EyeSight driver assist technology with automatic pre-collision braking, now with an even wider field of vision to help avoid and prevent potential accidents before they happen. And an available panoramic moonroof allows you to get an even better view of the great outdoors. From interior to exterior, every Forester trim has all-new sleek styling. Make a strong statement by opting for the Forester Sport with new 19-inch bronze finish alloy wheels and bronze finish accents, along with StarTex upholstery that is dirt and water repellent. The Forester Touring offers even more luxury at the highest trim level, including leather-trimmed upholstery with Ultrasuede accents and heated front and rear outboard seats. The Forester Touring is sure to impress with its 19-inch machine finish alloy wheels. Versatile, capable, safe, and long-lasting, the newest generation of the Forester gives owners everything they've already loved and more, all in an impressive modern design. The all-new 2025 Subaru Forester lets you live life to its fullest in a vehicle that shares the same adventure spirit and love of the great outdoors. Look what love can do in the all-new 2025 Subaru Forester. Love. It's what makes Subaru, Subaru. Amazing.

Dasas Asher19:24
So there you have it, the global debut of the 2025 Subaru Forester.
S
Sarah Haron19:32
Yes, I mean that was astonishing. I don't know which part I love the most. From the firefly laser show that was amazing, but then to see the all-new Forester drive through the log on stage, know that was creative. What was your favorite part? I just love the whole tie-in to the National Park theme. It's so cool. But I think I just really love seeing the progression of where the Forester has come since its launch in 1997. Like, it's kind of nostalgic to see where it's come from. That's how I remember Forester.
D
Dasas Asher20:02
Oh yeah, and I have to agree. I mean, it revolutionized the industry by combining the capability and versatility of an SUV with the comfort and efficiency of a sedan, and it has Subaru symmetrical all-wheel drive system, which is great because you know I live in Colorado, so that's perfect for driving through the snow, through the rain, through steep inclines. I love it.
S
Sarah Haron20:24
You know, that's actually a great example. And the Forester has been doing that and it continues to do that. The all-new Forester comes with a 2.5L Subaru Boxer engine pushing 180 horsepower, and dual-function X-Mode is available to enhance traction. I mean, that's huge. That's going to get me through any condition I might encounter.
D
Dasas Asher20:46
But I got to talk about it. Did you see that touch screen? Did I see it? You can't miss it. The all-new Forester has available an 11.6-inch high-resolution touchscreen display with wireless phone charging, wireless Android Auto, and wireless Apple CarPlay. Plus there's an available 360 camera and smart rearview mirror.
S
Sarah Haron21:02
Yeah, I mean, you know I love all that fancy tech so much, but let's talk about some of the safety features.
D
Dasas Asher21:12
Oh, let's talk about it. For starters, EyeSight driver assist technology is now standard for the Forester, and the structure has been reinforced for improving collision absorption. So important.
S
Sarah Haron21:25
Okay, here's something else. Okay, having one hand, you know sometimes I'm carrying a bunch of groceries or gear from my house to the garage and I don't want to drop everything when I'm trying to load it into the car.
D
Dasas Asher21:35
We are way ahead of you. There is now a new kick sensor for the rear gate. Just make sure you have your key fob on your person and it's just a slight kick under the rear center of the vehicle. I think that might end up being one of my favorite features. But all of it is truly remarkable.
S
Sarah Haron21:52
Um, I already know what you're about to say. I know what you want to talk about. You can go ahead and say it. I want to talk about the dogs that are here today.
D
Dasas Asher22:03
Of course. And yes, Subaru is the largest corporate sponsor of America's national parks, and at every auto show we partner with local Humane Society and they bring puppies to the auto show like this one right here. Now you can come here and adopt right here at the auto show. This is Jessica, and Jessica is here looking for her forever home. So if you guys want to come meet her, if you're in the LA area, come down to the LA Auto Show all weekend, stop by the Subaru booth. You can learn all about the Forester, check out the dogs, and just learn more.
S
Sarah Haron22:38
Yes, we have our pet adoption going on here every day. Plus we have performance simulators here as well. And just come enjoy the beauty and tranquility of the National Park theme here. It's so cool. So if you want to learn more, head over to subaru.com. And for now, that's all. We're going to go play. Yes, bye-bye for now.
