Greetings everybody. Dave Dewalt here. I'm the founder and CEO of Night Dragon. We're coming to you live from the RSA Cyber Security Conference in San Francisco. This year we have an unbelievable size audience, over 40,000 people accumulated here in San Francisco to talk about cyber. And today I have some just amazing partners to talk this through. This is about what we call the rising titans, and these are the titans rising in the land, kind of pre-IPO type companies. And together my co-host David Chen, who I've worked with for quite a few years now.
25 years. Oh, don't date us. Yeah, I'm going to date us here. Yeah. David runs the head of technology investment banking, global head for Morgan Stanley. So I got a great partner asking questions for our guest today. And our guest is Sanjay Poonen, who is the CEO of Cohesity, and amazing. You've been in the IT industry like us for a long time as well, two and a half years now as CEO of Cohesity. Congratulations, my friend, on all your success. I know you just finished a big acquisition. Tell everybody for a minute, what does Cohesity all do, just for those who might not know everything that you're doing.
Yes, thank you, the Dave and Dave show, I could say. It's great, delighted. Now, I've known these gentlemen actually, you know, you're branded now, I've known these gentlemen and they are celebrities in their own regard, both in banking and in tech. I've followed your careers. It's great to talk with you. We are now, with this deal that we've done, the market share leader in what we call AI-powered data security. So hundreds of exabytes of data sit in our platform and we protect it from cyber attacks. Most often, these are ransomware attacks. But because it's a historical copy of everything a company has, you know, secondary backup data, the bad guys want to go after that data. It's just sort of a time series index of everything you've had. So the largest banks, including some that you know about, banking is financial services, our biggest vertical. And then public sector, hospitals, telcos, tech. 70% of the global 500 and 85% of the Fortune 100. So these are large customers who are banking on us for their cyber resilience.
Right. Just you mentioned ransomware. Just you know, we're at the RSA conference. Just can you double click on that for us? How prolific is the issue over the last several years?
