After a short break in our congress studio, our next guest is Marcin Czyczerski, co-founder of the GCG group and vice-chairman of the supervisory board of CCC. Good morning, Mr. President. The group is very well-known, wonderful footwear available not only in stores but mainly online.
Marcin Czyczerski 0:23 ↗
Yes.
Interviewer 0:23 ↗
Why are you silent? I'm listening. Okay. You have built a truly impressive online sales network. How long did it take and what helped you build such a strong position?
Marcin Czyczerski 0:35 ↗
CCC is known for determination and ambition – those were the two main components. First, our own e-commerce, that is CCC's own sales, which grew from zero to a billion in a short time. Then there was the acquisition of eobuwie, which was quickly scaled, and eobuwie and Modivo later grew from about 150 million złoty at the time of acquisition to nearly 6 billion. All in all, that made the CCC Group one of the largest e-commerce players in Poland. Fashion, probably, is such a...

Did the pandemic force it a bit, or would it have happened sooner or later anyway?
Marcin Czyczerski 1:11 ↗
No, no, it was a well-thought-out plan that began somewhere in 2016 or 2017. COVID rather confirmed that it was the right assumption, but the specificity of the CCC Group, similar to other entities like Inditex, is the so-called omnichannel model, that is, great integration of in-store and online sales and linking the customer journey in a very good way.
Interviewer 1:38 ↗
Well, I'll tell you something. An older man once said to me: 'Mr. Krzysztof, if you have trouble buying shoes for your feet, go to eobuwie, they'll measure everything there and you'll buy exactly what you need.' So that word-of-mouth marketing shows that the network you built is truly gigantic. But I have a question: Is that success also possible for smaller companies? Because we are at a congress of small and medium enterprises. I am here,
Marcin Czyczerski 2:08 ↗
They can also achieve such success. I consider myself a representative of small and medium enterprises, because CCC is certainly not that – it was founded by Darek Miłek. But I, with my two partners, founded GCG, a consulting firm, and today we have seven employees and a few million in revenue, so we are definitely a small and medium enterprise, even a small one. And we also help smaller enterprises. They have a lot of potential. They often have certain things demonized, they associate e-commerce with technology. Once technology was very expensive, now it is scalable with turnover. E-commerce is a great place for scaling. It opens a very large market that is growing very fast in a not fully noticeable way. It could be talked about for a long time, and on the other hand, it allows you to lead this growth profitably.
Interviewer 2:54 ↗
Yes, but if someone is small, do they have the same possibilities as a large or huge one, right?
Marcin Czyczerski 3:00 ↗
without very expensive firms that specialize in this field exactly, right? Well, it is known that a small company, before it climbs to the middle level, needs some time, but above all a lot of money. Yes, but let's look at all the great giants like CCC, Allegro, or LPP. They were once small too, and what made them become larger or gigantic was above all determination, a good idea, and, I would say, vigilance, looking at how to realize that idea and

openness to innovation. Yes,
