Welcome everyone. We are holding the second session of this event. Last week we discussed what we add to our students. Today we will continue on two axes: first, connecting students with industry leaders like Ahmet Eren, and second, tracking our graduates to see where they work to understand the quality of our education. Being a graduate of the Faculty of Economics is a privilege, and you will feel it in your career. We will have Mr. Ahmet Eren and later other guests. We also want to establish strong ties between your HR departments and our faculty to create brighter futures for our students. Thank you.

When I graduated from this faculty, we had close ties. Let me briefly tell my story. I was born in Bitlis, completed my early education there. When I came to university, I studied at Istanbul University Faculty of Economics. Our faculty was known for its high standards. I learned English by myself, which was crucial. After graduating, I passed the exam to become a certified public accountant. I then went to the US for training, where I improved my English further. Returning, I started a business with my father in textiles, producing men's underwear. We later expanded into various sectors. In 1992, we opened our first store and now have stores in Turkey and Europe. Our group, Eren Holding, employs 500 people. We also made a major investment in coal-fired power plants. Without any government guarantee, we invested 8 billion dollars. I said our group has no illegal money, and we secured loans from İş Bank. Today we produce 7% of Turkey's electricity. We also have a paper factory and other energy investments. My advice to you is to learn English well, think mathematically, be hardworking and honest. If you have these qualities, you will succeed.

We do not have any work on boron. As for internships, we are open to students. We have HR programs.

We have investments in waste-to-energy and other renewable sources. For example, we have a small plant producing 30 MW from waste. We also have paper production that uses energy. It's a growing area.

If you were to graduate today instead of the 1960s, what would you do differently?

I would still start with English, but now I would focus more on technology and software. I would not just stay in traditional industry. I would look for opportunities in the private sector. Turkey has resources like iron and steel, but we need to innovate.
