$200 million investment from Eren Holding

This is the largest industrial production facility ever built in Eastern Anatolia in the history of the Republic, excluding Malatya. It is both modern and state-of-the-art, and we hope this facility will also encourage other investments and serve as a beautiful example for them.

Here, cotton yarn, polyester-cotton blended yarns will be produced, and this will be an export-oriented production. The products coming out of here will be used in some products we have been exporting for a long time, so this investment will also make a major contribution to exports.

The total investment amount will reach 200 million dollars when all units are completed, and 1,100 people will be directly employed.

We have always placed great importance on investments in Bitlis, as you know. We have been doing this for years, but we also realized that Bitlis is a city in need of economic support. Bitlis is the third poorest city in Turkey in terms of per capita income distribution, ranking third in poverty. Hopefully, this investment will help break that cycle. We hope it will encourage other investments as well. A new factory will set an example for new investments, and that's why our family decided that we needed to provide this support.

The textile industry, in particular, is a sector in which women in Turkey can play a considerable role. Beyond that, integrated confection is a labor-intensive sector, and in this labor-intensive sector, women make up a large proportion of the workforce, especially in confection.

Yesterday, I met with the owner of a confection factory here, and he told me that 65% of our workers are women. This is very encouraging. In a place like Bitlis, where women have long been neglected and unable to participate in the economy, having 65% of the workforce be women is truly heartening.

Women will find themselves, and because they will be financially independent, they will also be listened to more at home.
