About Arthur Sadoun

In a March 2025 interview, Sadoun discussed the advertising industry's shift toward artificial intelligence and data, stating that "our biggest challenge is to take all these people into this new era of advertising dominated by artificial intelligence, by data where once again these great creative ideas remain at the heart but everything around these ideas has changed." He also described advertising as a "people business" and noted that the industry operates in a state of "permanent uncertainty," requiring agility and a clear compass. In a June 2020 message to Publicis employees, Sadoun addressed the killing of George Floyd and subsequent protests, saying "this is bigger and deeper than we think" and that "actions are more important than words." He called for the company to "imagine, design and execute new ways for Publicis to fight racism and create more opportunities for the black community." In a 2013 interview, Sadoun described the advertising business as one where "you are always two phone calls away from disaster," adding that he believes communicators are "the worst advisors for politicians."

Hello everyone. At Publicis Groupe, we are focused on everything, always in every market. In this moment, as we see the devastating death of George Floyd and police brutality, and the protests across many cities in America and abroad, we are reminded of the need for change. It is very difficult to find the right words, and even more difficult to take action. But as a company, we must focus on where we can make a positive impact. We must build a better company and industry. We need to imagine, design, and execute new ways for Publicis to fight for opportunities for the black community. We must work with our black colleagues and the black community to find solutions. As a team, we need to come to a fundamental question: How do we provide more opportunities for black people in a world where brands and agencies are focused on growth and progress? We need more black leaders in top levels, active partners, and contributors. We must support all minorities around the world. We need to listen and take new ways to tackle the fundamental questions. We must be prepared and use our leverage to make a difference. In the US, we must take one day off to honor George Floyd and others. It's time for others to do the same. We must also equip ourselves with the necessary foundation and knowledge to help understand the black experience in America. Our diversity and inclusion team will provide learning resources. But most importantly, we must make our leaders listen and support. Personally, I believe that the isolation measures of the pandemic have shown that we are more responsible for each other. We must do the right thing today and for the years to come. Please stay close, check in, and start hard and soul conversations. We are building a foundation for progress, and it is starting today. Thank you. Take care of you and your family, and see you soon.
