Hi everyone. We're coming to the end. We're at the S's. I was told I should get a name with an earlier letter in the alphabet. So thank you very much. Thank you to the YWCA for this lovely honor. Thank you to my many friends at Pitney Bowes and my old friends at McKinsey for joining us today. Thank you. I wanted to take this opportunity to talk about STEM. Debbie mentioned it. It's such an honor and a privilege to be among this amazing group of women. And when I look around and I hear the physicians, the engineers, the math geeks with a little bit of personality, I feel like I'm right at home up here. And I am passionate about this idea of science, technology, engineering, and math, and how important that is as a foundation for our society going forward. It really is the future of our economy. And there are far too few folks, men and women, going into those fields to be competitive. We believe at Pitney Bowes this is essential, and we are, with both data and technology, empowering our clients to be better every day. And I'm privileged and excited to be a part of that team. When I was a graduate student at MIT in engineering, getting my PhD, as Debbie mentioned, it admittedly was quite a long time ago, but in my graduating class of graduate students, it was five percent women. And at the time, I looked around and I wondered why there weren't other girls there, why others had not decided to take the path that I did. Admittedly, we're doing better, but still graduate programs in engineering are less than twenty-five percent women today. We have a lot more work to do. So what can we do? The most important thing is for all of us to encourage our young girls and young women to get their hands on technology at a young age. I had the privilege of having a dad who didn't have any sons, so thank you, Mom and Dad, and so I got the opportunity to do everything my dad did. I know how to fix an engine, I know how to reshingle a roof, I know how to fix a pool. I can do it all. And what that taught me was this wasn't so hard after all. Yes, you have to be smart, and yes, you have to know something about math, but girls can do this. I can do this. And my parents always encouraged both my sister and I that we could do anything. And that, I think, is the most important thing for all of us to do: get your girls with their hands on something physical, get their hands on a keyboard coding, get them into science and technology and math. The second thing is just to be sponsors. I've been lucky enough to have really amazing sponsors in my career, whether it was at school or all points along the way. And so giving women opportunities they don't think they're ready for, that they may not think they're qualified for, and they may be really scared to do, stand behind them and push them forward.
