6:51So this seems a bit contradictory. How will it be achieved?
We are in a time where we will also talk to various managements. With us is Debadatta Chand, MD and CEO of Bank of Baroda. Thank you so much for your valuable time, it's great to talk to you. Bank of Baroda has released its June quarter results. First, if we look at advances and deposits, they have shown quite good growth. What were the driving factors for this growth and where do you see some pain in this quarter?
Thank you for inviting me. Regarding the bank's financial performance for the June quarter, our advances growth was 12.6%, which I consider a very strong performance. At the same time, domestic deposits grew by 8.1% and globally by 9%. In this scenario, I think our performance on both asset and liability sides is quite strong. One thing I want to mention is that corporate loan growth is a bit muted at 4.2%. I believe this is similar to other banks' outcomes where corporate growth has been lower. There could be two reasons for our corporate growth. One is a seasonal factor because if you look at June 24 growth, it was 2.5%. Secondly, strong corporates are also raising money from the bond market, so their dependence on bank loans is lower. That's why corporate loan growth is lower. But if I estimate for the full year, like last year, we are capable of growing 9-10% in corporate. So overall our loan side growth is quite good. On the deposit side, we have focused on CASA and retail term deposits, and we have done well there. So I think this is a good financial performance from our side. The bank's performance is robust, strong, resilient, stable, and consistent. Because this performance is not just for one quarter; if you look at the last many quarters, our performance has been consistent. And whatever the market develops, we will think accordingly and work on how to construct the bank's book.
Debadatta ji, we would like to talk a bit about slippages. This figure has gone up a bit because an international account has slipped. We would like to know how much provision has already been made for this and what steps are being taken for recovery. What are the expectations?
You are right. Our normal run rate for slippages quarter to quarter is roughly around 2,800 to 900 crore. If you look at the average over many quarters, it's the same number. This quarter it is 3,500 crore, and precisely as you mentioned, the international account with a rupee equivalent of roughly 512 crore has slipped. This account was a restructured account during COVID times and later upgraded, but there was some incipient sickness in the account. In the international territory, this account is under a CNC program for resolution, and we will know the outcome in 210 days. But this account is secured, fully secured, and we have already provided 40% as of today in June. However, as far as recovery is concerned, we expect to recover fully. So I don't see any major impact from this account. The program will conclude in 210 days, after which we can decide the proper outcome. But our slippage run rate is quite strong. Our slippage ratio is also within guidance. So including this international account, the slippage ratio is still within guidance. I hope that our robust asset quality will continue.
Very good, sir. Please tell us, apart from this account, do you see any pressure in any particular segment? Because we have heard recently that MSME and retail segments have become a pressure point for some banks.
