President Trump delivers remarks in Medora, ND: LIVE

Theodore Roosevelt was told by his doctor to live quietly due to severe asthma, but he chose a wild life, saying he didn't care how short it was. He sailed the Atlantic, summited the Matterhorn, and proved his doctor wrong. He worked hard because he loved it—just like I love making America great again. After his mother and wife died on the same day, he came to Medora, North Dakota, and transformed himself from a sick, broken man into a strong, vital leader. He chased criminals 300 miles, took a bullet to the chest and kept speaking, and led the Rough Riders up San Juan Heights despite malaria. I just presented his Congressional Medal of Honor to the library here. As we approach America's 250th year, we must remember that courage, merit, and big thinking define us. We've restored strong borders, won a Supreme Court decision returning power to the president, and ended affirmative action based on merit. The stock market is hitting records, 401(k)s are up, and inflation is dropping. We are in the golden age of America. Theodore Roosevelt believed in nationalism, putting the nation above partisanship. He was a man of genius, toughness, and principle. It's an honor to open this library.
