Welcome everyone, both in person and via webinar. Thank you for taking your Thursday night to be here voluntarily. I want to quickly thank Dean Ken Anderson of the School of Business Administration for his support of the ERM lecture and for the vision and vitality he brings to our development as an exemplar of Jesuit business education. I also want to explain the name of this lecture series. It is named in honor of Mr. John L. Aaron, a longtime benefactor and trustee at Gonzaga University. Upon his retirement in 1988, a group of timber companies and family friends established an endowment to create the Aaron Chair in Business Ethics, which I am honored to hold. Mr. Aaron was known for his emphasis on ethical behavior in his organizations and business dealings. Our 2022 Aaron Lecture in Business Ethics features Mr. Bob Chapman. Mr. Chapman is Chairman and CEO of Barry-Wehmiller, a $3 billion global capital equipment business with over 12,000 team members. He became senior executive of BW in 1975 and has led over 115 successful acquisitions, transforming the company into a global leader. He is also a global leader in reforming traditional management practices, moving from bottom-line centric to people-centric approaches. His truly human leadership approach is grounded in a non-negotiable commitment to creating cultures where team members feel valued. He has developed initiatives including a university and Leadership Academy, and his book 'Everybody Matters' with Raj Sisodia has transformed management theory. He was recently named number three CEO in the world by Inc magazine, a top 10 Social Capital CEO, SHRM CEO of the year, and invited to speak at the UN. Please join me in welcoming Mr. Bob Chapman.
