Independence Day of India and my heartiest welcome to all of you. When I remember when last time we also celebrated Independence Day followed by the Republic Day. I'm very happy to share a couple of extremely positive developments of Oil India Limited. But before that, let's recall the sacrifices, the selfless sacrifices rather, of the freedom fighters of India and the soldiers who are guarding us in water, in land borders and in air. Our reverence to them, our respect to them, and we are grateful to them for letting us live a life with dignity.
While we fondly remember these erstwhile statesmen of independent India, we would also fondly recall the contribution of the public sector undertakings as part of this economic development of the country. And in that particular construct, our beloved company Oil India stands tall. And I take immense pride in sharing this that since last 60 plus years, Oil India Limited, today a Maharatna CPSE under Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, has been providing yeoman services to the nation in terms of providing an assured energy security to the best of its ability. With the current geopolitical turmoil, it becomes more relevant. And it becomes more relevant for all of us to rise to the occasion. And I can assure you all of us have done fairly well in this respect.
We are not clear about the extent of vulnerability. But we are aware of the vulnerability that our ecosystem, that our energy value chain offers to us. That awareness helps us to remain in preparedness. And that is where I would compliment first of all all the field force of Oil India Limited who have been working tirelessly 24/7, 365 days, irrespective of seasons, difficult terrains, and the hardship at the work front. Including those energy warriors who have actually given us this superlative performance the year that has gone by, 25-26. We witnessed highest ever drilling in terms of our performance, and that is 74 number of wells. Out of which 22 wells were of exploration category, and 52 wells were of development category.
By virtue of that, we reported a reserve replacement ratio which is more than one. For any upstream oil company or an E&P company, achieving a reserve replacement ratio more than one by means a great achievement. And let's have a huge round of applause for ourselves in terms of this particular number because this is something which is the hallmark of any EMP company going forward. It means while we produced more we also did enough exploration. Of course, we will talk about how much enough is enough. Enough exploration to maintain the R&R ratio a respectable more than 1%.
While we talk about exploration, we did about 22 number of exploratory wells. And primarily they were near field explorations. But then yes, we did some superlative rank exploration as well. All of you know Oil India Limited scripted history when we struck natural gas presence. And after flaring for about 72 hours, it is a technical discovery by any standard in Andaman Nicobar basin shallow water. But mind you, it's not shallow water. It is 355 m. Just short of 400 m which would have given us a deep water discovery status. At a depth of about 2,000 m we have established discovery of natural gas.
For a company primarily nestled in northeast part of northeast of the country, while we have taken a leap of faith of pursuing offshore exploration, this is probably one of the greatest achievements in Oil India's history. And the best part is this is the third well and then the second reported occurrence of natural gas. It gave us three beautiful things. And I say beautiful because it has given us enough confidence to pursue more aggressive exploration and offshore exploration at that. Second, it established a petroliferous basin that is called Andaman Basin. More so, having extensive natural gas discoveries and reserves and production alongside our bordering countries in the same basin. But most important and the most sought-after is this has given us recognition in terms of Oil India Limited's prowess to pursue exploration.
Today, by virtue of these achievements, we have got collaboration opportunities with the global oil majors. The international oil companies or the national oil companies of the world are not only warming up to us, there is possibility of having collaborative efforts to pursue exploration. I must share with you we are today more than prepared to pursue offshore exploration along with or rather supplemented by a technology service agreement with one of the major deepwater and ultra-deepwater international oil company called TotalEnergies. The traction has been very, very extensive. And having done the discovery in Andaman Nicobar, the 600 square kilometer of 3D seismic data acquisition tells us as part of our appraisal process that we need to pursue it further by drilling at least one more appraisal well.
And I'm very happy to share with you the preliminary reprocessing data suggests that there could be a possible structure for which as per the recent amendment of oil regulation, oil field development and regulation act, we have also submitted an extension of our block area. We didn't stop there. As part of exploration, Oil India is currently drilling one of the deepest well in this part of the globe. The target depth is about 6,000 m at a depth of 60 m. We are drilling in Kerala Konkan Basin. This is not only a path-breaking decision but we are actually punctured through the Deccan basaltic traps. And I would draw a parallel that this would possibly give us the confidence to undertake the more deep water and ultra-deep water well that Oil India is poised to drill now.
This is the last OALP bid round nine. We have secured about 40,000 sq km of area in the deep and ultra-deep water of Mahanadi and KG Basin. Four blocks are there. We have already completed 4,200 line km of 2D seismic and 5,003 sq km of 3D seismic. As we speak, the advanced processing is underway. If everything falls in line we would possibly spot the first deep water well by mid 2027. All of you would recall last year during exactly same day honorable Prime Minister had announced that we are going to have something called a deep water exploration mission.
And I'm very happy to share with you we are very closely working with the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas and recently the Union Cabinet has approved the Samudra Manthan, the National Deep Water Exploration Scheme with a capital outlay of 84,000 crore. Out of which 23,000 crore plus will be utilized for collection of data. That's an array of 160,000 line kilometer of 2D seismic at the first go followed by more 2D seismic and 3D seismic. And the target area is Eastern coast of the country and Andaman Basin. So we are perfectly aligned and about 43,000 crore has been allocated to support the national oil companies or any other E&P operator to carry out deep water and ultra deep water drilling.
As per the policy, it is going to sponsor about 675 crore rupees of support for our deep water drilling. We could not have asked more. We have already identified a capital allocation of about 16,000 crore to carry out four plus four deep water and ultra deep water wells in our four fields in KG and Mahanadi. And going forward we would definitely participate in the OALP 10 and OALP 11 bid rounds. In support, as we speak, possibly with some of the select international oil companies. We didn't stop at only exploration. I must compliment the entire production team for giving us a superlative production. The year we closed touched 84,000 barrels per day. By any standard, if we look back, we were hovering around 65,000 to 68,000 barrels per day. This year, we have clocked 84,000 plus barrel. That means about 22% growth.
By any chance, by any possible way, this is an achievement to clap. Normally, all of you would know that when you deal with mature oil fields, there is a production decline. So, we didn't do it in 1 year. We did it with a concerted strategy. We did it with a follow-up. We did it with a growth plan. You would recall our workover this year is also highest. And the contribution of workover has also been highest. We this year completed 307 workover operations. Now, having done this, we didn't want to stop. We have given ourselves also some of the best challenging tasks. This year, we plan to achieve 100 plus wells and 350 plus workover operations. With about 1 lakh square kilometer of area of exploration acreage.
We are actually ready to go to the new horizons like Cambay Basin as part of our drilling campaign, like Meghalaya as part of our drilling campaign. And we also had two oil discoveries in our main producing areas. The best part is we have already done well in quarter one. It gives us enough assurance that the momentum that we have already gathered, we are convinced and we are indomitably unstoppable to pursue this momentum. All of you would know the quarter one of the current financial year witnessed the highest ever performance not only in terms of production but also in terms of financial numbers. This has given us more bandwidth not only to enhance our production efforts but also to pursue our exploration efforts.
As an E&P company, we also have our value chain across the hydrocarbon segment. I'm very happy to share the Q1 of our downstream partner company Numaligarh Refinery has also witnessed a superlative performance. Both last financial year and this Q1 Numaligarh has got more than 100% capacity utilization. Not only we clocked highest ever distillate yield last year, this quarter also we have got highest ever distillate yield. Now when you do 100% capacity utilization and highest ever distillate yield, it is simple maths. At a consolidation level also, we clogged 4,000 crore plus as part of our PAT. We didn't just stop at our top line and bottom line excellence. We did fairly well in the middle line as well.
Cost has been our current focus. Both in terms of becoming cost consciousness, but most importantly undertaking those activities which would give us savings. Same people, same resources, we are increasing our efficiency and performing more drilling and more workover. We are also now monitoring our inventory holding capacity. One more success story that I would like to share, which was often not being focused. By virtue of our cost prudence, today our pipeline segment is a profit center. We have forgotten the cost number or a cost center approach to our pipeline. Through our pipeline, we are also carrying molecules to the highest order. And that is actually reflecting highest production, highest transportation, and highest refinery throughput.
We have also got some positives. In terms of pipeline, we also completed one of the major enhancement pipeline project. We did fairly well in that. We not only completed the pipeline on time, that's 1.72 million metric ton per annum capacity addition to 5.5 million metric ton. We saved 100 crore on that particular project. Let's give a huge round of applause for such project execution capabilities. Something best has also happened. All of us know that Oil India has got a 2P of about 70 million metric ton of crude oil, but we also have a stupendous number of 120 plus million metric ton of natural gas sitting to be evacuated from the northeastern part of the country.
We have already created pipeline infrastructure within our fields, and as we speak, the vintage pipeline upgradation is underway. But the best part is recently government of India has given us an authorization, which is called the Duliajan feeder line, which will connect the fields of Oil India Limited in the northeastern part to the national northeast gas grid at Jorhat. We look at about 18 months time for which the clock has already started. So, this would give us an evacuation opportunity. That means the current production of 8 million standard cubic meter per day would climb up to 13 million to 15 million standard cubic meter per day. I don't need to tell you what will be our top line then.
We didn't stop there. We have a JV in the name of Duliajan Numaligarh pipeline. Recently PNGRB has declared DNPL as a common carrier. This has opened up a new vista for Oil India Limited. As we speak, we have got nine geographical areas and these geographical areas are actually meant not only to give impetus to a gas-based economy of domestic PNG and CNG. This is actually creating value creation of Oil India Limited because more gas will get consumption. I'm very happy that our investments or our JVs that are already in existence have started doing well in terms of our penetration of D PNG and CNG. And these pipeline authorized DFL and the common carrier DNPL will create more opportunities for Oil India Limited.
Something further positive happened. All of you know that this is the clarion call of honorable Prime Minister. We had something called a Swachh Bharat mission and SATAT. This is that Oil India did a pioneering work in terms of compressed biogas. As we speak, two biogas plants are under construction, one at Bhubaneswar and one at Tinsukia. We have a wholly owned subsidiary called Oil India Green Energy Limited and OGEL is pursuing these initiatives. In addition to these under construction plant two locations, we have already placed the letter of award. One is in Agartala, one is in Jorhat. Concurrently, there is tremendous support from two states to name. One is government of Assam and one is government of Odisha.
In Odisha we are putting up eight CBG plants. In Assam we are putting up five CBG plants. And as recent as last week in Guwahati we have been allocated around 30 acre plus land for putting up a CBG plant. Unlike the previous experiences, by virtue of thorough study, assessment, and collaborative approach, Oil India is putting up the best-in-class state-of-the-art compressed biogas plant. We are also looking at municipal solid waste as the major feedstock, but we are also looking at agri residue. That's how I would say a very, very positive coincidence. I'm extremely happy to share that last to last week, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, like Samudra Manthan, has also launched another flagship initiative, which is on the bio energy mission, which is also known as Gobar-Dhan.
We were already prepared, and three positives emanated from that particular scheme. One, it has already identified a obligated blending requirement of the compressed biogas to the national gas grid. Two, every ton produced of production of CBG would give us a capital subsidy of 2 crore rupees. And most important, number three, the last mile and then the first mile connectivity will be receiving some capital subsidy under this scheme. The total capital outlay of this particular scheme, which is bio energy related, is about 23,000 crore. We do foresee that all our CBG projects will not only have traction in creating a Swachh Bharat mission led growth, but it will also offer enough traction for the national gas-based economy system.
We didn't stop at that. We have recently signed an MOU with Municipal Corporation of Delhi, and since we are in Delhi, this is very, very significant for all of us. We'll be putting up two compressed biogas plants, one of 300 TPD and one of 500 TPD, giving us a range of about 15 to 30 ton per day of compressed biogas, which will find to some of our kitchen. Similar traction is going on with some other states. And while we take pride in participating in these government initiatives, we also get acknowledged for our efforts in all these segments.
One more thing which I would like to share as part of our middle line, that's the cost-saving effort, is our digital drive 2.0. We have already identified as a lead from the first digital drive 1.0 about 10 initiatives. And as we speak, based on extensive consultation across organization, within organizations with initiative champions, and extensive outward stakeholder consultations, both at the level of service providers, hardware suppliers, and I'm very happy to announce that about seven such initiatives are already floated in the market. And I'm assured that in another one month time, all the initiatives will be in the market. Now, why doing all of this? One more thing we have created a structure. Which is very, very essential as part of our efforts.
And this is where I would like to acknowledge the support that we are giving from government of India. The support that we are giving from Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas. And most importantly, the support that we are getting from government of Assam, government of Arunachal Pradesh, government of Rajasthan, government of Odisha. The Port Blair administration, Andaman Nicobar, and all other areas or states where we are pursuing our investments or our operations. In this regard, we recently had a very good traction with government of Assam for enhanced security protocol for our facilities. This is something which not only provides a kind of fearless atmosphere for all of us to work. It will also provide the assurance of uninterrupted production.
I can assure you that the Oil India that we are today, we are unstoppable. With the kind of zeal, with the kind of enthusiasm, with the kind of momentum that is available, we are invincible. Considering all of this and wishing you all the best for rest of the year, my heartiest congratulation to all of you on this auspicious day of 80th Independence Day. Thank you very much.
