Have you ever felt like you just couldn't be yourself? Like it'd be easier if you were someone else. Is there a voice inside your mind that reminds you all the time the ways you're broken? Has it left you hopeless? It can be a hard, hard thing just being alive. It can be a dark, dark thing when you're trying to hide. Every story, every scar, you are loved the way you are. There's nothing you need to prove. Cuz heaven knows your name. There's a reason you were made. Fearfully and wonderfully made.
Has anybody told you that you'd never be enough? Has anybody told you that you'd never measure up? Are you just trying to escape, trying to run from all the pain of being human? Can you make it through it? Every story, every scar, you are loved the way you are. There's nothing you need to prove. Cuz heaven knows your name. There's a reason you were made. Fearfully and wonderfully made.
Don't give up. Don't give up. He's not giving up on you. Not giving up on you. Don't give up. Don't give up. He's not giving up on you. Not giving up on you.
It can be a hard, hard thing just being alive. It can be a dark, dark thing when you're trying to hide. Every story, every scar, you are loved the way you are. There's nothing you need to prove. Cuz heaven knows your name. There's a reason you were made. Fearfully and wonderfully made.
Don't give up. Don't give up. He's not giving up on you. Not giving up on you.
Yeah. You've been so close. Despite my distance. Distance. Oh, yeah. And you're always good. You're always present. Present. When my faith is fading, your love will still embrace me. I know that I can make it. I can make it. When my faith is fading, your love will still embrace me. I know that I can make it. I can make it. You're with me when I walk through fire. Even when I face the giant. In the darkness with the light. Tell the devil that he a liar. And even when I'm in the waiting. In all of my broken places. You'll be faithful I am faithful. And I will not be afraid. I'll be okay.
Even when I want. Your eyes are on me. On me. Yeah, yeah. You're never far. I want to feel your heartbeat. Heartbeat.
I'll be okay. I'll be okay. I'll be okay. Yeah.
I remember the night back in late November. I was out in the cold. I was alone praying for answers. The storm was loud, but it couldn't tell me nothing. The fire was wild, but it just left me struggling. You're moving the stillness. You're moving the stillness. Closing the distance. Now I can feel it. Now I can feel you. Your voice isn't hidden. Your voice isn't hidden. I just got to listen. Listen.
Whisper. I've been looking for you. Trying to find the courage. To one regret. Now checking the steps to what my purpose is. I'm awakening up. Taking a new perspective. The night was long until I got the message. You're moving the stillness. You're moving the stillness. Closing the distance. Now I can feel it. Now I can feel you. Your voice isn't hidden. Your voice isn't hidden. I just got to listen. Listen.
Whisper. And I will not fear. I know you're right here. No matter where I go, I know I will never be alone. And I will not fear. I know you're right here. No matter where I go, I know I will never be alone. I know I will never be alone.
Hey GCU, welcome to Chapel. As we sing these songs out, I invite you to remember our God and all the wonderful things that he has done for us. He is our father, he is our heavenly father, he is our savior, and he is our creator. Let's sing this song out.
Your word is a lamp unto my. Your way is the only way for me. It's a narrow road that leads to life, but I want to be on it. It's a narrow road, but the mercy's wide cuz you could only promise. Let's sing this out. I'll take you at your word. If you say it, I'll believe it. I've seen how good. If you start it, you'll complete it. I'll take you at your word. Let's sing this out.
He spoke and the chaos fell in line. Your eyes know cuz I've seen it in my life. It's a narrow road that leads to life, but I want to be on it. Hey, hey, it's a narrow road and the tide is high, but you walked on the water. I'll take you at your word. If you say it, I'll believe it. I've seen how good you were. If you start it, you'll complete it. I'll take you at your word. If you say it, I'll believe it. I've seen how good you were. If you start it, you'll complete it. I'll take you at your word. Cuz you could only promise. Let's sing this out. Let's sing about his love.
Let's sing you said. You said your love will never give up. You said your grace is always enough. You said your heart will never forget or forsake me. You said I'm safe. You called me yours. You said my future's full of your hope. You never fail, so I know that you'll never fail me. Let's sing that out again. You said your love will never give up. You said your grace is always enough. You said your heart will never forget or forsake me. You said I'm safe. You called me yours. You said my future's full of your hope. You never fail, so I know that you'll never fail me. I'll take you at your word. Oh, I'll take you at your word.
Come have your way this morning, God. Oh, move in our midst. Would you move in our hearts? We welcome you, Holy Spirit. Oh.
I am an instrument of exaltation and I was born to lift your name above all names. You hear the melody of all creation, but there's a song of praise that only I can bring. Oh, who else is worthy? Who else is worthy? There is no one. Only you, Jesus. Who else is worthy? Who else is worthy? There is no one. Only you, Jesus. You are God of the ages. Yet you chose to make my heart your dwelling place. You healed my brokenness, showed me your glory. So I sung of things not even angels see. Oh, who else is worthy? Who else is worthy? There is no one. Only you, Jesus. Who else is worthy? No one. Who else is worthy? There is no one. Only you, Jesus. And who else is worthy? Who else is worthy? There is no one. Only you, Jesus. Who else is worthy? Who else is worthy? There is no one. Only you, Jesus. No one. No one. I'll never find another like you. Oh, I'll never find another like you.
So we sing, the Lamb of God. Lamb of God, anointed one who was and is and is to come. Seated on the throne above. Holy. Holy. Righteous one who shed his blood. You proved to us the Father's love. Jesus Christ be lifted up. Holy. Holy. Lamb of God, anointed one who was and is and is to come. Seated on the throne. Holy. Holy. Righteous one who shed his blood. You proved to us the Father's love. Jesus Christ be lifted up. And who else is worthy? Who else is worthy? There is no one. It's only you, Jesus. Who else is worthy? Who else is worthy? There is no one. It's only you, Jesus. There is no one. Only you, Jesus. There is no one. Only you, Jesus. And who else is worthy? Who else is worthy? There is no one. Only you, Jesus. Who else is worthy? Who else is worthy? There is no one. Only you, Jesus. There is no one. Only you, Jesus. There is no one. Only you, Jesus.
It's all about you, Lord. Were creation suddenly articulate with a thousand tongues to lift one cry. From north to south and east to west, we'd hear Christ be magnified. Were the whole earth echoing his eminence, his name would burst from sea and sky. From rivers to the mountain tops, we'd hear Christ be magnified. Oh, Christ be magnified. Let his praise arise. Christ be magnified in me. Oh, Christ be magnified from the altar of my life. Christ be magnified in me.
When every creature finds its inmost melody and every human heart its native cry, when he is one surely my praise will sing Christ be magnified. We'll lift you high. Oh, Christ. Let his praise arise. Christ be magnified in me. Oh, Christ be magnified from the altar of my life. Christ be magnified in me. Be magnified in me, Lord.
I won't bow. I won't bow to idols. I'll stand strong and worship you. And if it puts me in the fire, then I'll rejoice cuz you're there, too. I won't be fooled by feelings. I'll hold fast to what is true. And if the cross brings transformation, then I'll be crucified with you. Cuz death is just a doorway into resurrection life. If I join you in your suffering, then I'll join you when you rise. And when you return in glory with all the angels and the saints, my heart will still be singing. My soul will be the same. Oh, Christ be magnified. Let his praise arise. Oh, Christ be magnified in me. Oh, Christ be magnified from the altar of my life. Oh, Christ be magnified in me. Oh, Christ be magnified. Oh, let his praise arise. Christ be magnified in me. Oh, Christ be magnified from the altar of my life. Oh, Christ be magnified in me.
Lord, we just pray that you're magnified in us this semester, Lord, in this year. Thank you for your mercies that are new every morning, Lord. Thank you for this new semester, this new opportunity to come back and to worship you and to make you the center of our lives, Lord. We're so thankful for this opportunity to come and to worship you together, Lord. We love you and it's in your name we pray. Amen.
Tell the band thank you for leading us in worship this morning, would you? Well, welcome back from break. Hopefully you had a great time with your family and friends over the last couple weeks. It's great to see you in chapel again. It's great to be together in this place. I hope you're ready for a great semester. We had a great fall looking forward to the spring and sharing these Mondays together serving the Lord and lifting his name in song and in word. So we got some special thanks coming up here in the next few days I want to share with you. Number one, for those of you that are brand new to GCU, if this is your first chapel, welcome to chapel. We're glad you're here. We moved in a number of students on Saturday and Sunday this last weekend and some of you may be here and if you are, welcome to campus. We're thrilled that you're part of GCU's community. Secondly, if you are looking for some things to do, make sure, if you haven't done this already, to check out the GCU Life app. If you would download that to your phone so you can keep updated on things that are coming to campus, things that are happening around campus. I think that will really help you to find a way to be plugged in and connected to what's happening around the university. Secondly, today the student leadership app goes live. Yes. So for those of you that are going to be returning student leaders next year, we would love for you to to share with others about the opportunity to be in student leadership. If you're thinking about it, that application is live right now so we'd love to see you step out of the crowd and be a part of our student leadership program here at GCU. Next Monday we will have a student leadership fair so that you can explore some of those opportunities, maybe talk to some people that are already in student leadership. Those that lead the departments that have student leaders in them will be there as well. So you'll hear more about that next Monday at chapel when we're together. So with that said, kicking off chapel, the first speaker of the year is President Brian Mueller. Would you welcome him to the platform?
