📅 Oct 10, 2026 Anthony Pompliano Clips 8 MIN 1 VIEWS 13 SEGMENTS · 2 SPEAKERS
Anthony Pompliano asks Hunter Biden about his laptop token and why he launched it. Hunter explains that he wanted to build a coin that does the opposite of what he says Trump's meme coin did, with a 20% airdrop to the community, a prediction market built into the token, and a tagline telling people not to buy it as an investment. He says he is in it for the long run and wants to prove himself to a skeptical crypto community. Hunter also explains why he named it after the laptop. He says the words Hunter Biden's laptop will likely follow him forever, so he decided to reclaim them. He admits he...

Anthony Pompliano discussed his cryptocurrency venture, Hunter Biden's laptop token, which he created as a counter to what he describes as a max extraction play by an unnamed figure who owns 80% of his meme token and took $2.1 billion from supporters. Pompliano built a token with Coinbase, offering a 20% airdrop, 30% embedded prediction market, and 10% for himself, with 5% minimum to charity. He claims the launch was a disaster due to a market maker providing only $5,000 in liquidity, causing the token to spike from $50 million to $317 billion market cap before crashing. He remains vested for six months with linear vesting over two years. Pompliano also discussed reclaiming the 'Hunter Biden's laptop' label, stating he is not ashamed of his past and will use the name to connect with a community he feels is written off.

  4. Pompliano denies any involvement with the cocaine found in the White House.

Let's talk about laptop token. When I first saw you talking about this, I was like, 'What the hell is going on over here?' And then I thought that maybe you were like, you're trying to troll, you know, some other folks. And then now it looks like this is a real thing. Like, help me understand what the heck is laptop token and what is your, what's your plan here?
Anthony Pompliano 0:20 ↗
Yeah, man. So about six months ago, I was, you know, I mean, I've always had an interest in cryptocurrency and Bitcoin just from an intellectual level. And I started to think about what he was doing to the industry and through this max extraction play that he did. He owns 80% of his meme token. And here, look, just let's all start this is that when I talk to anybody that is outside of the, that has no relationship to cryptocurrency, I mean, either their eyes glaze over or they just assume that I'm like a con artist. Okay. And I mean, it's just, I mean, it's the reaction. And by the way, if you talk to anybody basically over the age of like, you know, 47, it's basically that's the reaction that you get. But what I do know is this, is that I believe, for instance, a meme token started as a joke. It is a joke, but it also creates community. There's also 10 million meme tokens. There also are tokens that have been launched that actually created things and built things rather than just actually extracting things from other people's wallets. And I saw what he did. He created a coin that 80% of it went to him and his insiders, completely and totally obfuscated the wallets, and none of it is transparent. And he took basically, I don't know what was the number, $2.1 billion from his most fervent supporters and he put it all into his pocket. Okay. I said, 'Can you build a coin that does the exact opposite, that gives back to community, that creates something and builds something?' So, I built a coin with the tokenomics in conjunction with Coinbase that we were supposed to be listed on day one. And we built a coin that had a 20% airdrop, which means that we literally just give away, no strings attached, 20% of the coin to community to build a community. And then, and by the way, you could either cash it in or hold it. Do whatever you want. And you know, one of the taglines of my coin was, 'Do not buy this coin. It is not an investment. It is not money in any way.' And so, 30% of the coin was the first ever prediction market embedded into a token. And a completely innovative thing that we came up with in which I make 30 predictions and each one of those predictions, if it came true, a commensurate percentage of the coin gets burned. If it doesn't come true, then that percentage gets dedicated to charity. So, a minimum of 5% to charity. All things that I could raise millions of dollars and still can for organizations and entities that are important to the things that I care about, which is recovery and addiction. And then 10% for me instead of 80% for me. And on day one, I mean, it got totally, you know, I mean, it was just an absolute 100% disaster by no fault of our own. But I have not benefited, not one insider has benefited or profited from the token. The 300 million tokens that are locked up in the founder's tokens still sit there. You can see it on the blockchain. It's completely transparent. And what happened was that a market maker, we had three market makers. I'm not going to name the one, but the principal market maker that had 30 million of our tokens and a million dollars to be able to create a market only put in $5,000 at launch and 29,000 tokens. So, there was zero liquidity. So, a $6 purchase of a token, that price sent the token up 5%, and just do the math exponentially, and within minutes it went from our $50 million FTV launch to $317 billion market cap, and within the hour it fell all the way back down. Now, it's trading about 70-75 FTV right now, which is, you know, basically it's fine with me. We're above where we launched, but nobody benefited from that except the two market makers that basically cashed out in parts of that.

So if you have 10%, you're going to make like a couple million bucks over time. Not yet, right?
Anthony Pompliano 4:54 ↗
Oh, that's the thing. Yeah, we're vested for six, I'm vested for six months, cannot touch the coin, and then it's linear vesting over two years in conjunction with the predictions that go out over a two-year period of time. And I'm not going anywhere, man. I really truly believe this. And the other reason that I really truly believe in it is that I get to talk to you. I get to talk to an entire audience that would otherwise have, that no one in my political persuasion is talking to. None of them. Nobody. And everybody that is so knee-jerk to the idea like, 'Oh, this is bullshit.' I get it, man. I get it within the community in crypto Twitter, they've been burned so many times and they are so skeptical of anyone that comes along. But look, man, I'm going to stay out here for the next year, for the next two years, however long it takes to prove to everybody that I'm in it. I'm in it to the end. I am engaged not just in this community for the sake of being engaged in it, but because it is of great interest to me and I think of great promise to everybody.
