What Don Lemon said

Written from the verified transcript and checked against it. Every figure links to the moment it was said.

Don Lemon criticized the Trump administration for embracing Andrew Tate despite serious allegations of sexual abuse and human trafficking, contrasting this with the treatment of Epstein survivors. He detailed British prosecutors' findings, including 168 indecent images of a minor, 66 classified as category A, and messages indicating Tate knew the girl was underage. Lemon highlighted Tate's Nazi salute advocacy and connections to Trump family members, including Donald Trump Jr., Alina Habba, and J.D. Vance. Guest Mike Nellis argued the Tates are toxic and unlikely to be saved by Trump or Marco Rubio, noting their legal losses, financial troubles, and fake social media engagement. Lemon called for investigations into the DOJ's stalled case and the involvement of Barron Trump and Habba.

So, look, there is a pattern that I want to tell you about that I've noticed at the way Donald Trump and the grifters in his administration, how they treat victims of sexual abuse compared with the way that people inside his government have embraced and wrapped their arms around men accused of very serious crimes. Because when survivors of Jeffrey Epstein's abuse demanded transparency, they had to fight for it. They're still battling until this day to get those files released. But then, look at what happened when the self-proclaimed misogynistic and pathetic Andrew Tate needed help. A man who was already facing serious allegations of the R-word, assault, SA, human trafficking, and sexual exploitation.
Instead of everyone in Trump world, you know, keeping their distance, guess what they did? They did the complete opposite. They embraced him. They publicly bragged about their close relationship with Andrew Tate. And Andrew Tate bragged about their close relationships with the president's family. Roll it.
Andrew Tate 1:04 ↗
And I'm very close to the Trump family. I know them well, and I spoke to Barron after the accident, and I look forward to, once I am free, being with Donald Trump in person and reminding him that he's a bulletproof badass. Built different. Can't wait till they shoot me. I'll do the same thing. Fight. Fight. Fight.
Don Lemon 1:27 ↗
Now, when people talk like that, you know what's up, right? They're the exact opposite of what they're saying. Andrew Tate is a [__]. Let's just put it that way. Andrew Tate is a big [__] [__]. And it's all bluster. Now, prosecutors in Britain have revealed details, and these details are beyond sickening. They say that police found 168 indecent images and videos involving a 17-year-old girl on Andrew Tate's electronic devices. Again, this is according to police. 66 were classified as category A, which is the most serious under British law. And prosecutors alleged that Tate himself appeared in a sexualized video with a young girl when he was 28 years old. They go on to say that messages indicate that Tate knew the girl was underage.
But here's the thing. The Trump administration didn't discover yesterday that Andrew Tate was surrounded by serious allegations, that he was a scumbag. All you have to do is look at him. All you have to do is look at his content. They knew. Everybody knew about the R-word. Everyone knew about human trafficking. Everyone knew about the exploitation allegations. And somehow despite all of that, people in Trump's orbit, they looked at Andrew Tate and they decided this piece of [__] was worth defending. He openly advocated bringing back the Nazi salute and then performed it himself on camera. Look at this.
Andrew Tate 3:00 ↗
My heart goes out to all of you. You know, I'm kind of thinking we should bring the Nazi salute back. Because the people we've been arguing with for the last 4 years have no interest in objective truth. Hail SpaceX.
Don Lemon 3:22 ↗
Gross, first of all. Ew. Ew. He's disgusting. But you know who he's talking about. Remember when Elon Musk did that whole thing that looked like he was giving a Nazi salute and then he had to back it up because he wants attention and he's also a dumbass. I want you to remember what that salute represents. It wasn't some meaningless hand gesture. It was a public declaration of loyalty to Adolf Hitler and the Nazi regime. A symbol of obedience to one of the most murderous governments in human history. But Andrew Tate told friends in very high places — he has friends in very high places — and his relationship with Trump went back for years. So Andrew Tate had been friendly with Donald Trump Jr. since at least 2016. He even visited Trump Tower. Alina Habba, close aide to President Trump, called herself a big fan and told him, 'I got your back over here.' Vice President J.D. Vance followed him on social media, and according to ProPublica, the White House itself intervened after federal authorities seized his electronics. Trump administration officials should answer for their disgraceful actions. Now, someone who is tuned into this, who I speak to about all of this and who lets me know what's going on with this is my friend Mr. Mike Nellis. Mike, thanks for your patience. Went a little bit long with Governor Wes Moore, but...
Mike Nellis 4:40 ↗
That's all right.
Don Lemon 4:40 ↗
I don't think you'll — I don't think you disagree with me that Andrew Tate is a piece of [__].
Mike Nellis 4:45 ↗
No, he's an absolute scumbag and so is his brother.
Don Lemon 4:47 ↗
So then, what is all this new [__] about sex with eels and animals and bestiality? What is that?
Mike Nellis 4:55 ↗
Well, I think they're trying to become FBI agents. That's my theory on it since Kash Patel changed the rules on bestiality for agents. I mean, look, most of these accusations themselves are not particularly new. Like, we know that they're human traffickers. We know that they've been abusing women and kids. We know that they've been selling sexually explicit material on WhatsApp, images involving a young 17-year-old girl. In these messages, I think the stuff that we know that's new is how rock solid the United Kingdom's case is against the Tate brothers. They have them in text, basically fretting about the age of this young girl. They're talking about, 'Oh, you're 17. Like, you got me in a legal bind. We're in trouble. Your parents could come after us.' Like, it's very clear that they committed these crimes. They've also bragged about it a lot on their podcast, and I think the other very fascinating thing — fascinating being a relative term here because all of this is disgusting — is when they were taken as part of this extradition process and thrown into the Miami detention facility where they've been for almost 2 months. They've been complaining that it's unfair that they're behind bars because they haven't seen the evidence. And so now the evidence is all out there for everybody to see and it's very clear that they're scumbags. In the process of fighting to get released on bail, they had to basically admit to the judge they don't actually have a lot of money. They don't own any of their yachts. They don't own their Bugattis. They don't own any of that stuff. They tried to create this idea that the videos that you just showed of Andrew Tate is just a character that he's playing online, very similar to what Alex Jones tried to argue when he was sued by the families. It has not worked. The judge ruled that they're a danger to the public. The judge ruled that they're an absolute flight risk. They're going to be extradited, and I don't think even Donald Trump or Marco Rubio are going to save them here because there's no utility now in saving them because they're so toxic.
Don Lemon 6:38 ↗
Why would they — why would they get behind someone like this? That's what I don't understand. Is it simply because they are trolling for votes because they think that this is going to awaken the manosphere somehow, or is it just who these people are?
Mike Nellis 6:55 ↗
It's who they are. I mean, let's be clear. Donald Trump himself is a sexual predator and an abuser and probably should have been locked up for God knows how many crimes over the course of his 85 million years on this planet because he's so damn old. I just — they don't stop and think about the consequences of their actions. I mean, everything that Trump world does is very visceral and very short-term oriented. So in the context of trying to win what was a close election in 2024, they were accepting the help of anybody. I mean, Donald Trump had dinner with Nick Fuentes, who is a white supremacist and an absolute miserable person. He's part of Andrew Tate's little inner circle. They flirted, you know, in the last year or so with like Adin Ross and stuff like that, who's now also been accused of sexually assaulting an underage girl in Massachusetts. There's just on and on and on. And I also think for that clip of Alina Habba, which I don't think you played, but if you have ever seen it before, she was on Benny Johnson's podcast and he was talking to Andrew Tate and then she joined. I don't think she really knew who he was when she said that, which is not an excuse. It's just emblematic of the fact that it's such a circle-jerk community of people who support one another and they're just trying to maximize attention. And so they saw a guy with a big social media following who seemed like he had a lot of young men following him. And in reality, and we've learned this over the course of the bail hearing and all the filings that came out about it, is most of their social media engagement's been fake. They've been paying people to click for them on the side, taking basically their money from their human trafficking operation and from their goofy war room that they run. For folks who don't know, they have this website that you can pay like whatever it is, like 100 bucks a month to get private courses from Andrew Tate, who will literally teach you how to isolate women so that you can do exactly what the Tate brothers did here. They also have a course about how to bribe government officials. They also have a course about how to manipulate weird, isolated, lonely, young billionaire kids, which is literally a course about how to manipulate Barron Trump, in my opinion. So, they took all that money, they created this social media empire, and it's all fake. It's bots, it's fake followers, it's people who are paid to promote them. The money's starting to run dry, which is why you see fewer and fewer people supporting them. And then they tried to organize these protests in front of the Miami detention facility, and on their best day they've gotten 20, maybe 30 weirdos that are just doing push-ups and shouting 'free top G.' It's all been super embarrassing and exposing to me.
Don Lemon 9:12 ↗
I don't understand it. So, what is — I mean, so people have known forever that the Tate brothers are gross, correct?
Mike Nellis 9:21 ↗
Yes. I have. So, you can just tell that they're gross by listening to them talk because they're just weirdos. Like, that's not a way that real men talk.
Don Lemon 9:34 ↗
I'm trying to understand. Now, I don't want to read the — did you read the salacious details about what apparently was in there? If you can share with our viewers about the, you know, what was in the eels?
Mike Nellis 9:49 ↗
Yeah. There's some kind of explicit material that Andrew Tate had on his phone or his laptop of somebody having sexual relations with a horse, somebody having sexual relations with an eel. There's also a strange video from about a month ago of their lawyer Joe McBride, who is an absolute scumbag himself. Like, he's best known for having represented the January 6th insurrectionists and got them the pardon from Donald Trump. So that's what his role is, is to try to get these MAGA manosphere weirdos out of prison. But, you know, even more disturbing than all of that, and all of that's super gross, is they have images of the 17-year-old girl in particular flashing her breasts, and they've been selling that stuff on WhatsApp illegally. And there's probably a lot more to it than that. And that doesn't even discount, by the way, that in Romania they're also under investigation with the expectation they'd be found guilty if they ever made it back there for similar types of crimes, not to mention sexual abuse and witness intimidation and many other things. So they're just bad human beings.
