Good evening, everyone. Welcome to Lemon Live at 5. Thank you so much for joining us. Very big show. Like and thumbs up, of course. It affects the algorithm. More people become aware of our conversation and our channel. You hear me say that every single day, so you know, right? So I'm happy that you all are here. Where are you watching from? Tell me where you're streaming from. Drop your location in the chat. And again, make sure you hit the like and the thumbs up. Okay, we have a lot to talk about. The incredible scams and grift that are being exposed right now in the Trump administration is just through the roof. It is unbelievable that this is happening before our very eyes, that they are doing. We're going to walk you through it and then figure out exactly what can be done about it, if anything. I think that going into the election, that this is not going to help. Certainly that ICE shooting in New York is not going to help as well.
Okay, so Donald Trump promised to make America rich again, right? And he keeps telling us that we're living in a golden age. How is that going for you at your house? This golden age. Because Donald Trump's businesses are doing extremely well. He has finally become a billionaire. That's something that he faked all his entire life. His financial disclosure reported more than $2 billion in business income. That was in 2025. Who knows how much he's made in 2026. And that was his first year back into the Oval Office. So again, he keeps saying, 'Hey, we're going to make this into the golden age.' His house is doing very well. The White House isn't doing so well because he's tearing it apart. Look at the East Wing. It's a mess.
His first year back in office. Again, he made a billion dollars. Who knows how much he's made in 2026. This isn't the same as personal take-home profit. It's not the same as personal take-home profit, but it is an extraordinary amount of money flowing through businesses connected to a sitting president. This is a man whose businesses went through six corporate bankruptcies. Everyone says, 'Oh my gosh, well, I thought he was a great businessman because of The Apprentice.' Turns out The Apprentice was produced by writers and producers. That Donald Trump had six corporate bankruptcies, casinos included. I don't know how anybody can bankrupt a casino because the house always wins, but he did somehow. People walked in prepared to lose their money and somehow the business still ended up in bankruptcy. People know, 'I hope I win, but I'm probably going to lose money.' And Donald Trump somehow bankrupted a casino. That's quite a feat.
And then there's the Trump cryptocracy. A cryptocurrency, but it's a cryptocracy. Cryptocurrency, watches, cologne, even Bibles. Apparently, the word of God needed a licensing deal. And so, there were Trump Bibles. Who's paying? What do you expect? And are any of those relationships affecting decisions being made in our name? Also today there was a story that came out about immigrants, about the border being shut, and how that is affecting you and your wallet. Because what people don't understand is when immigrants are allowed in the country, that immigrants actually increase the well-being of the country. They add to the well-being economically and socially.
So very rarely do undocumented people receive retirement and benefit monies, but guess what? They add to the pot. And so if you get rid of the people coming into the country and the people, quite frankly, some of them who are undocumented, someone has to make up and fill the gap for the people who contribute to that pot. And so your Medicare and your retirement money, or I should say, and your retirement money, it's going to be problematic because you don't have enough people contributing to it. So most people will lose, according to this report, about $180 a month. $62 billion, somewhere in there, undocumented people add to the economy. But you don't hear about that. Close the border, and then once you're losing your money that is owed to you, or you believe is owed to you, you may have a different story.
So, who's paying? What do they expect? And are any of those relationships affecting decisions being made in our name? Well, yes, they are. Earlier today, Donald Trump supporter Eric Deeders told me about the dealings that he had with people close to the president. He spent substantial sums of money on their appearances. Now he is making serious allegations that involve Kimberly Guilfoyle, that's Don Jr.'s ex-fiancée, and now is our ambassador to Greece. Deeders says that she asked him to pay $100,000 toward her American Express bill. The Wall Street Journal reported on messages describing that request and discussions about reaching administration officials. Her lawyer disputes the messages' authenticity. Deeders says he has the receipts. He showed them to us this morning on the Hot Topic show.
Eric is going to be back here at about 5:35 or 5:40 to talk about that. And he has questions to answer, too. If you were spending money hoping for special treatment, you don't get to skip your own role because you're angry now. And then Jolly Good Ginger is going to join us around 5:20 to talk about some of these things that are happening in the news.
Now, what happens when you contribute money into this society? When you pay your taxes and you pay your bills, what happens to you as a documented citizen, as a citizen of the United States? What happens to you when you're a non-citizen of the United States? Non-citizens of the United States have to pay as well. Now, there may be people who are paying them on the side, but that is minuscule compared to the amount of money that they pay into the system and they don't get it back. But Donald Trump is saying, 'I'm going to deport all these people. I'm going to round them up. I'm going to ship them out of the country.' And then you have all of these people gone. And then the folks who actually are contributing to the economy are no longer there. And that places gaps into the system where money is normally contributed and it is no more.
So this whole idea about having closed borders and completely closed borders is just ridiculous. And the reason that I'm focusing on this so much is because there was a report that came out today that stated just that. But also the way that they're rounding people up on the streets and demonizing immigrants and migrants. It's really unbelievable. And you need to know the truth about it. You need to know the truth about it.
Also, in a moment, Congressman Eric Garcia is going to join us. Robert Garcia, excuse me, Congressman Robert Garcia is going to join us in just a moment because Congress must do something about this. The Congress needs to do something about it and the Senate needs to do something about it. But what's happening on the MAGA Republican side, they are not doing anything about it because guess what? They are making money hand over fist as well. All of the policies that they were too shy and too afraid to push through, all of those policies they actually want done. Donald Trump is just a Trojan horse. He is the one that's doing everything. And then behind the scenes, they go, 'Oh my gosh, this is crazy. Oh, I can't deal with this.' But they love it on camera. Sometimes they say it, but they love it. They're in for these policies as well.
Congressman Robert Garcia joins us now. Congressman, thank you so much for being here today. I really appreciate it. I was talking about, I want to talk to you about a lot of things, but this Trump family grift, the MAGA grift, the scams, I'm sure you heard about Kimberly Guilfoyle. And then we'll talk about the young man that was shot in the Bronx with a 5-year-old in the car. When you heard about this Kimberly Guilfoyle MAGA grift, were you surprised? I wasn't at all because the fish rots from the head.
Yeah, I mean, not surprised at all. I mean, first, she's very close still to the Trump family. She's an extended member of the family. Obviously was with Don Jr. They send her off to Greece for this ambassadorship. Pretty cushy job. And now it appears that she is asking Trump donors for $100,000 to pay for her credit card bill. And God knows who else she's asked money for or for how much amount of money. And what's crazy is that this wasn't surprising. This is what we expect from the Trumps. Now, we still have to ask the right questions. She's got to be held accountable. I think it's notable that no one's come to her defense. I mean, Marco Rubio hasn't said anything. The president hasn't said anything, but clearly we have evidence per some of these reports and certainly the gentleman that was the donor is now going on TV talking about what happened. So, pretty serious stuff. We're definitely going to go after Kimberly Guilfoyle and ask the right questions.
You have already written to her demanding answers.
We have. We've already written to her with a series of questions. We expect her to respond. She doesn't have the same protections that the president might think that he and his family have. And she owes the American public to answer these questions. Why is she asking Trump donors for $100,000 to pay off her personal bills?
Well, this is where the midterms come in. If you're demanding answers, control of the House determines who can issue subpoenas. Congressman, you know that, and require people to testify under oath. Democrats say that they're ready to investigate. I want some specifics. Who gets called? What records do they demand? Are you demanding or will demand? And what happens when someone refuses?
So, what I've told folks is like, look, we're going to have four major investigative lanes that oversight will be involved in immediately, like day one. The first is Trump family corruption. So, you're talking Don Jr. and the Red Wedding. You're talking Jared Kushner and Affinity Partners, the billions of dollars coming in from the Saudis and other folks. You're talking about the fact that these sons are sitting on these corporate boards that are getting massive contracts from the government, the crypto scheme, the stock trading. So the Trump family corruption is number one.
The second piece will be DHS and ICE. Corey Lewandowski and Kristi Noem specifically. There are a lot of allegations. We have some evidence. We've talked to whistleblowers about serious, serious, what we believe is abuse of power and pay-to-play as relates to contracting and the way they've turned ICE into this deportation machine where folks are actually profiting from. Third is going to be corporate accountability. If you're in bed with the Trumps, if you're paying for all these crazy projects at the White House and monuments to please Donald Trump, you're harming the American public. We're going to be looking into that. And finally will be the Jeffrey Epstein investigation. Real justice for the survivors, real accountability, real public hearings. Those four lanes, you'll be seeing action out of oversight immediately when we take over the majority.
Are we talking about subpoenas and public hearings into alleged corruption and abuse of power? Is the public going to get to see this?
I mean, all of the above. I mean, one, we will have real public hearings on Jeffrey Epstein, which we haven't had. We'll have real public hearings on Trump family corruption. We're going to take on Kristi Noem and Corey Lewandowski in public hearings. So all of that is to be expected. But also, of course, look, we're going to first, we're going to ask them to come in. And if they choose not to come in, you can absolutely expect for there to be subpoenas going out the door to ensure that we have compliance with a serious process. If they're going to defy Congress, that's when these subpoenas are going to come in.
Why are Kristi Noem and Corey Lewandowski in your sights?
Well, we have, we believe, really serious information, evidence. There has been public reporting that Lewandowski essentially was selling access and that Kristi Noem and him were essentially creating their little empire within DHS while people were struggling and suffering. And so we have folks, including whistleblowers, that have made some serious allegations against the work that Lewandowski was doing inside DHS. And that's something that we're going to pursue pretty aggressively.
So, you've given me those names. You said Corey Lewandowski, Kristi Noem, Don Jr., maybe Eric Trump, but you could be chairing over Kushner, Stephen Miller, Susie Wiles, JD Vance, the list goes on and on. Not even beginning to even touch the long list of folks in the Epstein investigation as well. Do you see people resigning? Because if you see the tide that's coming, I'm wondering if some people will start stepping out of the way, maybe those who think that their prospects of being able to get a job outside of this administration will diminish when Democrats take over, or do you think they're going to hang on because if they're still in the administration, that Donald Trump will somehow protect them via pardon or otherwise?
Look, you'll see both. Look what happened to Pam Bondi and Kristi Noem. I mean, they resigned under enormous pressure, particularly when the president had kind of at that point turned his back on them when he felt that they weren't sufficiently protecting him and protecting themselves enough. And so you will see, I think, some pressure on some folks that are going to step down. Others will try to stick around and get protected by the president. But look, the beginning of the end of the Trump presidency is here. We're going to stop and slow the agenda. He's got two years left in office, but every day that passes, there'll be more investigations, there'll be more pressure. There'll be a presidential election that'll drive where this country is going. And we're going to ensure that Donald Trump and him and his family, there is accountability. We can't just move on. For there to be true justice, there has to be accountability in the moment.
Listen, I was derelict in my journalistic duties. I just thought about this, and you said you reached out to Kimberly Guilfoyle. Have you heard back? Has she responded?
We haven't heard back yet, but she hasn't responded to a lot of questions right now. She's keeping quiet on what's going on. I think she's realized that this is kind of blown out into the open. And she's in pretty serious trouble, I think.
You think so? You think that because her attorneys are saying, 'Oh, they're disputing the authenticity of those Signal chats.' But that stuff is encrypted, right? I mean, you can tell if it's authentic or not.
Yeah, I think we'll be able to hopefully verify the authenticity of those. And look, I don't think if you're that Trump donor that went on TV and made those allegations, I think those are some pretty serious allegations. I don't think you go on TV. I don't think you create Signal chats out of thin air. Clearly to me, there's really something there. And I think we're going to investigate that and also try to get to the truth. She's going to have to answer questions, and so at some point she will be asked to come in front of us and answer some serious questions.
I want to take you now, Congressman, to California, excuse me, not California, New York in the Bronx. Okay? To this horrific shooting that happened at 4:00 in the afternoon in New York City with uncrowded streets. Now, there is some video. There's new body cam video, and I want to show it to you, and I just want to get your reaction to it, if you will. Here it is.
Come on. Come on.
Is going to the person. Just get the bus there.
All right. I rushed the bus multiple times.
Who's giving me this information to confirm person shot?
Rush the bus. Rush the bus.
I did. Who's giving me the information?
Go. Come on. Come on. Come on. Come on. Go. Come on. Come on. Come on.
Let me say this. The NYPD is saying they had nothing to do with this. The NYPD had to come in and render assistance. The agents that were on the scene did not render assistance. They waited for NYPD to come. As you see, they had to take him to the hospital in a squad car. From every law enforcement person I have heard, they have said this is not standard procedure for our law enforcement agents. So, and then we'll talk about what this gentleman is accused of, this man is accused of. That's a whole different thing. But when you saw that, what did you think?
I mean, first, I think it's so important that body cam footage is made available to the public and that every single law enforcement officer, especially ICE agents and DHS agents, have body cams. Look, as we all witnessed there, that is horrendous what happened here. And the fact that these agents left him in the way that they did and the condition that he's in, I think is sick. And it's just indicative of what's happening across the country. What you just saw there, for having to have NYPD there engage in the way that they did, that should not be happening in any of these encounters. Regardless, we're talking about human beings here. And of course, the Trump administration is going to try to villainize every single person they can whenever immigration enforcement, whenever ICE goes after folks. We are seeing this across the country. It happened in New York, it's happened in Austin, it's happened in California. The stories that I hear from, for example, Ronnie and Lorenzo Salgado Jr., where their dad was shot and killed by ICE. No explanation. Trying to villainize a 35-year resident that was here just working hard, trying to build, working on construction jobs. That is happening over and over again. And it happened again in New York.
ICE is out of control. They are hiring people with little to no experience. They're turned into essentially Donald Trump's personal police force. In law enforcement, police departments are having to now step in and try to actually bring some level of calmness or try to come in and clean up the mess that ICE is actually creating on the streets. I was mayor of my city for eight years. I had over 650 police officers, most of whom had body cam by the time that I left, and I think all of them have body cams now. It is horrific that that's not a national standard, as you can see in that video we just saw.
What is wrong with these people? And did you see Markwayne Mullin this morning? That press conference, it was infuriating.
Awful. I think that these folks have no heart. They could care less about human beings. And it's clear that they're just following the orders of Stephen Miller and Donald Trump. No one is on board with this stuff. I mean, the fringe elements of our country, but the vast majority of people believe this is wrong and needs to stop.
When they say the worst, we're going after the worst of the worst, and that the man in the car actually put the 5-year-old in danger. By the way, I saw an interview with the governor earlier who was saying the kid is non-verbal now. He's not speaking because he witnessed it. Again, her words. I just don't understand it because, as you know, you're a lawmaker. Our Constitution says due process for all people, not just citizens. And it appears that people, regardless, even citizens of the United States, are not getting due process. The cruelty really seems to be the point.
100%. I mean, due process has been completely ripped up in this country and it's happening time and time again. And remember, the vast majority of these folks that are in these detention centers that are being detained have no criminal record. They've done nothing wrong but to essentially be brown, to be a Latino in this country in most cases. And now, of course, they're picking up US citizens that are being detained. There's veterans that are being detained. I've talked to one veteran who was in solitary confinement for a few days, had no idea why he was there, missed his daughter's birthday, then is released with no cause, no explanation as to why he was even arrested. And this is happening across the country. People are also being shot and murdered that are just recording there. Whether it's folks like Renee Good or Alex Prey, this needs to end. And Trump and Stephen Miller should be held responsible for these crimes and in some cases these murders.
I got another one for you, just one more. If so, come November, well, the new folks won't be in until January. What does that mean for things like this? Will you be able to curtail some of this inhumane action if you get a different Congress and or a different Senate?
Look, I think between November and January, I think you're going to see Democrats make a strong effort to continue accountability and to push the issue, but it won't be until January we'll really be able to hold folks accountable, control the budget, hold hearings, have subpoena power. That doesn't mean that we should wait, right? We've been trying to bring attention to these stories. We've tried to hold field hearings even when Republicans won't attend. We've tried to use and force subpoenas through the Republican House and party. That will continue and it'll continue in the months ahead. What happened in New York is going to continue to happen until the Trump administration realizes that the country has turned on them and that there's going to be accountability to what they're doing. So, we have got to continue to be out there. We can't stop and we can't just wait for January.
Congressman Robert Garcia, thank you, sir. Have a good weekend. I appreciate you coming on.
Thank you very much. We're going to continue to talk about this because someone who has been out there covering the rallies, the people who are in protest of what's going on is Jolly Good Ginger. Jolly Good Ginger joins us in a moment. But first, I want to get a word in from our sponsors.
So, I'm a man of a certain age. So, yes, I have to start thinking about what's next for me when it comes to healthcare. And Medicare is one of those things that can feel far away until suddenly it isn't. Then you start hearing about Advantage, supplement, different plans, different coverage, and everybody seems to have an opinion about what you should do. That's why Chapter makes sense for me. They're independent Medicare advisors who compare every plan nationwide. They're not paid to push one plan over another. And if the plan you already have is the right one for you, then they'll tell you that, too. People who switched with Chapter last year saved an average of $1,100. So whether Medicare is here for you now or coming sooner than you'd like to admit, it's worth understanding your options. Call Chapter at 212-931-0855. That's 212-931-0855. No pressure, no games, just clarity.
Friend of the show and one of the best creators that I've ever met, and former military, and just a good person, just good people. I want to bring in now Jolly Good Ginger. Ginger, you and I have been out there on the front lines covering the protests because of similar things that happened yesterday in the Bronx. And now you have this... First of all, before I ask you about the investigation, when you saw it, what did you say?
It's frustrating, and I have to compose myself when I'm talking in public because of the things I really want to say. But, you know, this ICE continues to show us why it's dangerous to have an untrained, unregulated, just militant force on the streets with zero oversight. And they continue to show us what happens when we as a society lose our humanity. We lose our moral compass. And America, let's be fair, already had, you know, a long way to go. We were working on trying to overcome our mistakes of yesteryear, but we've literally gone backwards. Not to quote Kamala Harris here, but that was her whole thing: we won't go backwards. And we have. So when I heard yet again, they've shot somebody else yet again, a 5-year-old child in the car. As a father of five, that cuts me deeply. I still remember sitting in Minneapolis when the picture came out of young Liam with his Stitch hat on.
