Don Lemon 0:01 ↗
No, you know, I'll let you in on a little secret. You guys probably knew before I did, but just before the show goes live, you can hear me for like a split second. Sometimes I'm blowing my nose, sometimes I'm coughing, sometimes I'm talking to someone. So today I was just like, 'Let's go elimination. Let's go elimination.' And it's 5:00 out east in New York City where I am. 5:00 on the East Coast. Here we go. Here we go. Here we go. Now, we need to do like a 'Here we go.' We need to ask Matt Gregory to do a 'Here we go' song for the Lemon Nation. Hi, fam. How are you doing? Lots to talk about. We have some breaking news in and what we've been discussing for some time. What I have been saying for some time, look, I'm not a doctor. I'm not a psychologist. But I can tell you some things like hit the like and the thumbs up because it does affect the algorithm. More people become aware of our conversation. I mean it, y'all, hit that thumbs up. Go and hit it right now. And then go and tell all your friends to and send them a link to the show because this is an important one. So let me put up the breaking news as we get started here. And we're going to hear from folks out on the street, New Yorkers and some folks who are not New Yorkers who are just here visiting. We spoke to them and we have a great guest that can talk about all the things. Number one, Andy, if you can, do you have the Variety article about Obama? I just want to say we're going to get to that. Okay. Let me just show you this because part of it has to do with something like this.
That Donald Trump has posted a video of Barack Obama and Michelle Obama. The former president and first lady, posted video of them depicting them as apes. Barack Obama has just responded to it in an interview with The New Yorker. And Barack Obama on speaking out against Trump and the racist AI ape video. He said, 'I'd never talk about somebody's family in that way.' That's because he has class. And then he goes on, if you go down a little bit, we can talk about it, Andy. There you go. He goes on to say, 'In a recent interview with The New Yorker, Barack Obama explained his reaction after an AI video was posted to Donald Trump's Truth Social account in February that depicted the former president and first lady Michelle Obama as apes. I don't take it personally,' Obama said. 'I mean, I'm always offended when my wife and kids get dragged into things because they didn't choose this.' That's a line that even people whose politics I deeply reject, I would expect them to care about. I would never talk about somebody's family in that way. According to the article, Obama said that he was more concerned about AI-generated videos that Trump has posted that treat war like a video game and show excrement dumped on ordinary citizens. I mean, I'm a fair target in the sense of, yeah, you can feel free to pick on me because I'm your own size.' He said that is class. That's what a president acts like. Thank you very much, Nicole M. Luongo. Class versus trash.
Class versus trash, which should have been the name. If I did not have this next story that I'm going to tell you about, I think that might be our thumbnail. You would have come up with it. Class versus trash. And then you just have a picture of Barack Obama and Donald Trump. And I think we would need no explanation or arrows because we would know which is which. So I say that about Barack Obama. I've showed you that article because Donald Trump is posting things like that. He's posting things about wiping away a civilization. He's posting 'open the effing straits, you whatever bastards' or whatever he's calling people. It's just so I've been saying I'm not a doctor. I'm not a doctor, but something's going on. And we have played clips of Donald Trump from not so long ago, and you can see how he's slowing down. Mental decline, some sort of cognitive issue, you know. And so nobody would normally talk about these things, but they made such a big deal out of it when Joe Biden was in office because they were doing it for political expedience. But now that Donald Trump is exhibiting, I believe, even worse behavior, oh, it's okay. We shouldn't talk about it. I never... No, no, no, it's not that. I don't know what you're talking about.
So, here's what I'm discussing. There is a new poll and it's a shock poll. I think it's a shock poll. Most Americans say Trump is mentally, physically unfit to serve effectively. That is according to The Hill. We will go on and I want to read some of that and then we're going to hear from some folks out on the streets. So, let's roll down the hill to that. Is that just a full screen or is that the article, Andy? Here it is. Okay. So, a new poll found that most Americans say they believe President Trump is mentally and physically unfit to serve as commander-in-chief. The Washington Post ABC News Ipsos poll, that is a very credible poll, found that 59% of US respondents said that Trump does not have the mental sharpness it takes to lead the country. 40% of respondents said the president is mentally equipped for leadership. And 1% of participants skipped the question. We found all of those answers pretty much today, except ours was heavily skewed. Comparatively, 55% of US adults said that Trump is not in good enough physical health to serve as president, while 44% disagreed and 1% of survey participants skipped the question. Now, here's the thing. Can we put a poll up? Let's put a poll up in our comment section. Okay, we want a poll up and I want to know if you feel that Donald Trump is fit or unfit to be in office and we will see how the polling works here in the Lemon Nation. So, that's the polling. Now, you guys know how I like to go out to the streets, right, and talk to folks. Now, I just want to show you this. Donald Trump, before we go out into the streets, Donald Trump loves to brag about cognitive tests all the time. And him being given a cognitive test is not a good thing because he says I'm the most in history. Usually doctors give cognitive tests when they think something might be up, but he doesn't understand that. So does that mean something is up here? He is...
Donald Trump 6:23 ↗
In my opinion, anybody running for president or vice president should take a cognitive test. And no president has ever taken one except me. I've taken three of them, and I've taken each one in the first administration, two over here, and whenever they get a little sassy like, 'Does he still have it? Does he still have what it takes?' I say, all right, I'll take another one. And they are hard. There are many people in this room I know that are smart. They're not going to ace them. There are many people standing back there, the fake news media there. I'd like to have them. You know, the first question is very easy and they always show the first question is you have a lion, a bear, an alligator and what's another good one, a squirrel. Okay. Which is the squirrel? So, they show that question and then the first four or five questions, they get a little more difficult. By the time you get to the middle, they're tough. By the time you get to the end, I don't want to be insulting, but there won't be... I'm not going to do what Gavin Newsom said. You saw him. He said, 'Everybody in here's stupid and he's stupid.' When he... I think it was the worst political interview I've ever seen.
Don Lemon 7:36 ↗
Okay, first of all, that's not what he said. He didn't say everybody in here is stupid. He was saying I... he was trying to make the point, I'm just like you. And that people are so quick to jump on people. Now look, I had been, you know, I'm a straight shooter. Pow, pow. But I understand nuance and I understand sometimes what people mean to say. So, but apparently in this climate, in this culture, you just can't. People don't understand. Everybody wants to be offended. Everybody's using it for their ideology. It's just annoying. I'm over it. I'm over it. I'm over it. But yeah, so that's what he said. Now that was just what, on Friday, right? Was that recently?
Andy 8:19 ↗
That was today.
Don Lemon 8:20 ↗
That was today. That was today. Today. Don't we have one of him in the Wayback Machine of saying something similar about his test? No. From Friday. Yeah. Okay. Oh, yeah. Well, that's kind of way back in this news cycle. Let's hear Friday. Friday. Now I got to see where I put it. Ah, was it in this morning? Yeah, it was. Yeah. Well, we can wait if it's a pain. If you can't find it, just... Oh, here it is. Oh, Andy has it. Fantastic job. But I just felt and I put out yesterday's statement. I think anybody running for president or vice president should be forced to take a cognitive examination. Right. No.
Donald Trump 9:15 ↗
I mean, you get a guy, he gets in, he's got a good line of crap, he gets in and all of a sudden you're stuck with a man who's a... You know, this is not good. This is not good. We went through four years of it. It's not a good situation.
Don Lemon 9:29 ↗
It's not a good situation. And people are applauding. It sounds like him where he says, 'And then you're stuck with a moron.' Is Donald Trump talking about himself? Because we talked about this in our two o'clock drop and the thumbnail is stuck with a... I don't think Donald Trump understands that this is, you know, perhaps a self-own. Now let's take it to the streets. You guys want to take it to the streets? Maybe that's what we should call it. Maybe we should get a little thing that says taking it to the streets. Does everybody know it? You don't know me but I'm your brother. Who's that? Andy. Y'all come on. Michael McDonald. Doobies. Dooby dooby dooby dooby dooby dooby dooby doo. Those are the Doobie Brothers. I promise you I have not had that much coffee, but you know. Yeah. Anyways, taking it to the streets. Here is some folks. This one person that I see in the queue says that she is an immigrant. And here it is.
Hey, I want to ask you a question. Do you see this? Read this. What does that say? Most Americans say Trump is mentally, physically unfit to serve effectively. What do you think?
Interviewee 10:33 ↗
Yes, absolutely. I immigrated 12 months ago and it took basically double the amount of time and I came from a first world country so I can't imagine what it's like to be from a third world country trying to do the same. He's a disgrace. He is completely...
Don Lemon 10:53 ↗
Hey, one man's opinion. I mean, in terms of sense, not one lady's opinion, but that's the saying, one man's opinion. One lady's opinion for her. And that's what people... These are two young people from New York who stopped us and said, 'Oh my gosh, it's Don Lemon.' Roll it. Most Americans say Trump is mentally...
Interviewee 11:16 ↗
Yeah, he is. We need to... He's unfit. I'm over this. I'm over this. Like, how come people who are 70 and up have to retire and get Social Security, but he's old enough to run the country? Makes no sense. That doesn't make any sense to me. He's just unfit, absolutely unfit. Like, he just... First of all, I'm tired of saying we need to go to our legislative Congress. No, we need to... I don't want to go to the White House and like get him out of there. No, we need to like go and pro... I'm tired of this because how much money are we going to lose? Yeah, I don't have... We don't have anything. The economy is hurting. He's not doing anything good for the country. SCOTUS ain't doing nothing either. They're all in cahoots. It's weird. And I'm just tired of getting robbed. I'm tired of getting used and I'm tired of people lying and acting like they knew. Oh, we didn't know that he was doing this when he told us this the whole time and he's fulfilling everything he said he was going to do. And I'm tired of it and nobody's kicking him out. So, I think I'm ready to do it myself. Young president. We need a young hot president. The last time we had a hot president, everyone was really happy. You know what I'm saying? Well, be a hot president. Exactly. Everybody loves... Everybody loves Mom Dami. Mandani. That's right. Mom Dani. You said mommy. Yeah. Everybody loves Mandi because he's great. What is he doing about the housing crisis and these people coming and taking people's homes with these fake deeds? That as well. I haven't seen him. He just said he's putting a team together, but I haven't seen anything done. And people are getting arrested and getting fines and this is ridiculous. He's going to do something. All right. But he needs to do it. You mean you're talking about Mom Donnie? Oh, that's a whole another show. We're talking about Trump. Trump, you got to go. Okay. Thank you. Thank you, Donald.
Don Lemon 13:32 ↗
Trump, you got to go. What does it take for people to realize because the Trump administration or the Trump regime, they're just going to keep gaslighting you to pretend that things are good when it is not. We talked to you about the price of goods this morning. Up, gas up. Even though they say, 'Oh, this is great. No, the price is down. Prices are down.' I don't know what world they're living in. But this gentleman right here knows. This is a new poll that says most Americans say Trump is mentally, physically unfit to serve effectively. What do you think?
Interviewee 14:07 ↗
You didn't go far enough. Oh, okay. No, I mean he's more than that. He's off the hinges. Definitely. Definitely. You think so? I absolutely do. He'll say he doesn't know the difference between Iran and Ukraine when he's talking. Fixes them up. What do you think should happen? Well, I don't know who's going to do it. The Republicans apparently aren't. But as soon after the fall elections, I'm sure they'll impeach him and they should. He's not fit to serve. It's absolutely not.
Don Lemon 14:38 ↗
Like me, you're a man of a certain age. You've been around. You've seen a lot of presidents. Anything ever like this?
Interviewee 14:43 ↗
Never. And it's like a blight on the country that people talk about him every day. And he's in the news and in the newspapers, page after page. No other president has been like that. Thank you.
Don Lemon 14:58 ↗
Yeah. So there you go. And again, as I said, one man's opinion. And I think that one man's opinion keeps getting one after the other. You get the sentiment around the country. Not that New York is the rest of the country, but these are just random people who were willing to talk on the streets. And I find it to be a good sampling of how people feel in the moment. I want to bring in someone who actually has, I think, administered or written about cognitive tests, and she can just correct me. It's Dr. Anita Dua, a surgeon and the founder and chief of Health Care for Action. Dr. Dua, thank you so much for joining us today. I love to have experts on when we're talking about this. Now I know that you're not his doctor, but this is your field.
Anita Dua 15:47 ↗
Yes, exactly. And it is an area that we do need to talk about because we've been a little bit confused, I think, for a while. When he talks about it, he says, 'Oh, I'm fine. The neurologists have checked me out and I can draw the clock and I can tell you what day it is. So I'm cognitively fine.' But executive functioning, which is the part of your mind that allows you to critically analyze something and then react to it intelligently, that's the piece that seems to be missing. And we all know that with age that does decline. It declines faster in some versus others. But executive functioning is what keeps you thinking about the unintended consequences and then prevents you from making stupid mistakes, frankly.
Don Lemon 16:32 ↗
Okay. He likes to... Let's back up a little bit, doctor. Why is he bragging about getting a cognitive test? Because my understanding is that they don't give everyone this unless they're thinking about something or unless you're a person that something may be off, unless you're a person of a certain age. What's the deal with that?
Anita Dua 16:52 ↗
That's entirely true. If people start to exhibit signs like memory loss or kind of behavioral characteristics that indicate that they might have issues with their brain, then yes, we take patients and we have conversations with them and say, can you do these basic tests? The MoCA, which you have up here, is one of the classics that just sort of tells us where a person is. And sometimes, that clock thing I mentioned earlier, you can see is on the MoCA test. Sometimes people will draw the clock backwards and that gives you a sense that there's a particular type of neurological issue that might be going on. Might be Alzheimer's, might be dementia, it could be anything. I mean, old age alone is not a diagnosis, of course, but when you're talking about the president, you can get every single one of these correct. That is something that a kindergartner could potentially get correct. That just says that you don't have something aggressively happening in your brain. It doesn't mean that your executive functioning is up to par. What we should be administering to him is what people in the military who are fighter pilots are taking for cognitive testing because that tells you about decision-making, how easily and how quickly you can take in information and spit out something intelligent. What us surgeons should be taking. If I'm sitting in the operating room operating on you and suddenly you have a major bleed, I need to take in all the information and make a decision in seconds that is intelligent. And taking the MoCA test, which you have in front of me, is not sufficient to determine whether or not someone has the level of executive functioning necessary. And I think actually Trump bragging about the fact that he can do this test is in and of itself showing you that the executive functioning isn't there because he doesn't even really understand what the point of doing these types of neurological tests are.
Don Lemon 18:48 ↗
Okay, I want to play this because this person sounds like they know what they're talking about. I'm not sure. It is from social media and they say that they are some sort of clinical, I think, psychologist or something. But I want you to tell me if you find this to be true and you can jump in at any time and we can pause it. Okay, doctor. Sounds good. Right, here we go. Because Donald Trump talks about his experience when going to get this cognitive test. Roll it.
Social Media Commentator 19:11 ↗
The president's healthcare team is lying to him about how sick he actually is. I'm a physical therapist with a doctorate in my field and 14 years of experience working in home healthcare, treating geriatric patients with dementia, narcissistic tendencies, all sorts of fun. And when I got the score in the test, the doctor said, 'Wow, I've never seen...' You know, you have five doctors lined up. They're all over the place. He just admitted to the world that there were five doctors in the room with him. Why would five doctors need to be there to administer a cognitive test? Because he is a complex psychiatric and cognitive case that requires multidisciplinary assessment of fitness to serve. He literally had the maximum workup for somebody that they were clinically concerned should not be the president. And they did not tell him that. He's admitting to the world that in the room with him was a neurologist, a psychiatrist, a psychologist, a neuropsychologist, and a geriatric specialist physician who most likely is a medical director for a nursing home or a home health agency like the one I work for. And even further, they have had this entire team of five specialists evaluate him three different times. Holy... Every single opportunity he gets to speak publicly, he is going to admit something that he should not talk about. This is because he has frontotemporal dementia. His frontal lobe, which is our way to filter our actions and our thoughts, is disintegrating inside of his skull. On top of that, he is a malignant narcissist who is in the middle of narcissistic collapse. Every day I open up my phone and look to see if Trump said something that he should not have. And I especially want to see him incriminate himself in the Epstein files. I actually think there's a better chance he will incriminate himself regarding Epstein with his mouth than he will with the files actually being released. They should all be released, of course, but it would just be amazing if he screwed it up all by himself. At this point, he's on nine days of borrowed time from when he should have either aspirated on a Big Mac and developed pneumonia and left the land of the living.
Don Lemon 21:25 ↗
All right. So, that's a little harsh, but we don't know about the full frontal dementia, any of that. Again, he's not his doctor. We don't know. But is what he's saying correct about the number of people and all of that?
Anita Dua 21:37 ↗
See, here's the problem, right? We can't have it both ways. We admit, we all know that Trump talks total garbage. We know that there might have been two people in the room. He'll say five, right? That embellishment is one of his specific characteristics. So, is it possible that there were five people in the room? It's possible. Do we do psychiatric evaluations with multiple doctors standing in front of a patient? Yes, that is true. But you have no idea who those five people are. So, I won't say that what this person said is not true. I'm just saying that Trump admitting that five people are there, it could be total garbage. This may not have even happened. Actually, the person who might have told him that, 'Oh, you did so amazing on that test,' could have been his wife. Also, don't forget, if we're going to say that there's a medical issue here, and I also believe that there's definitely a medical issue here. And I remember, we've had people even in Congress, right, that you look at and you think this is elder abuse. What's going on here? Feinstein. I mean, come on. So we know that this is something that occurs within our political sphere. It is completely possible that he does have dementia and that there's a team of people around him who are just as kind of cruel, frankly, propping him up as the person because they know that people will continue to follow this quote-unquote savior and do what they want. But I can't tell you that's accurate. You know what they said about the five people. I will say that I think that he has issues obviously with impulse control.
Don Lemon 23:11 ↗
Right, because just for posting certain things that he posts and some people say, well, we don't even know, to your point, doctor, we don't even know if he wrote those. Well, he had to approve them or he's okay with it, so I would have to assume that he is writing these, right? It's coming up from his account and he's not denying them. Anthony Scaramucci worked with Donald Trump and didn't officially work at the White House for a very long time. We joke about how many Scaramuccis, you know, someone lasted when they get fired, but he actually worked to get him elected. He was in the circle for a long time. And this is what Anthony Scaramucci says. Doctor, listen.
Anthony Scaramucci 23:52 ↗
We're failing the country as a group of people. This guy needs to be removed from office. He should have been removed from office before the war started. He's mentally unwell. Forget about the posting of the pictures of Jesus and going after the Pope. We can go through hundreds and hundreds of different things that he's doing and he has willing accomplices. Hitler had willing accomplices. What we have in the country is a failure of political elites to execute on the constitutional system. So the sane-washing is a tiny little thing on the surface, guys. The big deal is we're failures. We're all accomplices to this man's reckless behavior. He needs to be removed from office and he won't be.
Don Lemon 24:31 ↗
Agreed. From your assessment. Okay. Go, go.
Anita Dua 24:34 ↗
Yes. Oh, 100%. You know, I think that we spend a lot of time talking about Trump specifically as an entity. And I don't know if he's purely evil, if he is this diabolical person that's figured out how to manipulate the system, or he is what he appears to me to be, which is a demented older man that is being taken advantage of to some extent. And maybe it's because I'm a doctor and I have this element of empathy. And when I see him talk and behave, he reminds me of an older gentleman who is clearly not all there. And there are people I've heard, you just showed this report now, I have heard people talk about Trump from like the '90s. And they say this is a different person. And we all know that about the elderly. I agree completely. He is completely unfit to be in office. Completely unfit. And the reason for that is because his executive functioning is not at the level that it needs to be. His ability to understand what is going on in the political landscape and keep Americans safe is not at the level it needs to be. And I think he's being taken advantage of left and right by those people around him that want to remain in power. And I think that some of the people, potentially even people like Vance, have recognized it but don't know what to do now. You know, I wonder what he goes home and says to his wife. Should I just keep doing this until maybe I become the president? I wonder what their conversations are like. But I do agree that we have failed and we have not upheld our constitution and this man absolutely should be removed from office. But in no way should we be condoning any political violence or doing anything until we can use the constitution. The constitution was written to be able to get out of this particular situation. Our forefathers were smart enough to do that and we should do that and get out of this situation. He will be happier, we will be happier, and the world will be happier.
Don Lemon 26:27 ↗
Dr. Anita Dua, a surgeon and the founder and chair of Health Care for Action. Wow. Will you come back? We loved having you. I'd love to come back. Thank you very much. We appreciate it. So someone else we appreciate having on. We need a doorbell when people are in the waiting room because I have no idea. And I look at my texts and I have like 14 texts going, 'Crystal is here. Crystal is here.' Crystal, it's my fault. It's not the producer's fault. I went on a little... Crystal Ball is here and Crystal... We're going to... I'm going to get you to weigh in on this stuff and other things going on in the world. Okay. And first, a word from our sponsors, though.
Crystal Ball 26:56 ↗
I was enjoying listening to the doctor. It was no problem whatsoever.
Don Lemon 27:09 ↗
Is that a question? That's a new poll. What do you think? Do you agree with it? That yes, he's incapable. I do. He's unfit. He's unfit. So what should happen? We need a new president. You think that'll happen? Well, November he'll be a lame duck. You think it'll happen? No. Unfortunately, it won't happen. 2028 when he's... It won't happen. We'll get another Republican president. I think so. We need God to help us. Support for the show comes from BetterHelp. Now, I have to be honest. There are nights when my mind just doesn't shut off. Thinking about work, about the future, about things that I can control and things that I can't control. And it just sits with you, right? And yeah, I talk to people I trust, but sometimes you need a space that's just for you. No pressure, no expectations, just someone there to listen and help you sort it out. So that's why I think therapy matters. And that's why I want to tell you about BetterHelp. They make it simple. The Don Lemon Show is sponsored by Aura Frames. Mother's Day is coming up and I was thinking about this, how much my mom handled that I didn't fully understand at the time. The sacrifices, the stress, the way she showed up every single day and somehow made it all feel normal. You don't really get it until you're older. And even now, she's still the person I call when I need some real advice. And that's why I like Aura Frames. It's not just a gift. It's personal. You can preload it with photos before it even arrives. So when she opens it, it's already filled with real memories, not just the big moments, the everyday ones that actually tell your story. And you can keep adding photos anytime from anywhere. So it keeps growing over time. It's thoughtful. It's simple and it actually means something. Go to auraframes.com and use the code donlemon for $25 off of the Carver Matte frame. That's auraframes.com and the code is donlemon. You see that? Most Americans say Trump is mentally, physically unfit to serve effectively. What do you think?

I believe so. Yeah, totally. Why do you say that? I mean, he's old. And honestly, there's been like a lot of signs for a long time that have been saying his body is kind of failing him, but it's not directly factual necessarily, but I would probably say it's fact. You think it's true that he's not fit mentally or physically? Yeah, absolutely. Definitely physically. I don't know about his mental state. But in my opinion, yeah, mentally he's just wreaked havoc. There's not really been any good that's come out of this administration so far. It's just like a lot of bad news all the time. Not that past presidents have been significantly like better. Our country needs a lot of help and a huge revamp, but currently this is probably one of the worst times.
Don Lemon 30:44 ↗
Probably one of the worst times. That's a lot to say. Crystal Ball is here, an American political commentator and co-host of the Breaking Points podcast. Hello, Crystal. I know you've been anxious to weigh in. Thank you for joining us. What do you say?
Crystal Ball 30:57 ↗
It's my pleasure. Well, first of all, I love your man-on-the-street interviews. Nothing better than hearing directly from the people. And I think you do a very good job with that. I mean, look, people aren't idiots. They can wake up in the morning, they can see the news, they can watch him falling asleep in press conference after press conference. I mean, how many times do we have to watch this man hit his deep sleep cycle before we go, you know, maybe you're not up to this, buddy. Maybe not. And then you pair that with the physical signs. He had some weird rash. You got the thing that appears on his hand all the time. He'll disappear for weird stretches. And then you pair that with the chaotic, insane decision-making and constant insane posting on Truth Social and of course people are going to go, how could...
this person possibly manage the job of the presidency? And the other thing I think about, Don, is like, I'm a podcaster, right? You know, I'm not president of the United States. I don't have that kind of weighty responsibility on me. And yet this man seems to be on vacation constantly going to his golf course like needing all this rest and time off all the time. Something that he said previously that he would never do if he was president of the United States. So I think people look at that as well.
Don Lemon 32:07 ↗
I do too. I definitely think they look at that as well. But you know, it makes me uncomfortable to talk about someone's mental health. But look, I have eyes and I have ears, Crystal.
And if my parent or grandparent or someone that I loved and I cared about their well-being, if they were behaving that way, I would take them to see someone. If they were posting things at night and calling people or whatever it is, open the straight, whatever he said, bastards. If they were posting pictures of people like apes, if they were, you know, just any half of the behavior that he does, I would take their car keys away.
Crystal Ball 32:53 ↗
Yeah.
Don Lemon 32:53 ↗
Why aren't we taking the car keys away?
Crystal Ball 32:56 ↗
Well, because he's built this authoritarian cult around him. And frankly, I think part of his display of dominance is acting in these clearly unhinged ways of taking the liberty to fall asleep. I mean, he's not like, you know, he's not ashamed of it. He just falls asleep in all these press conferences all the time and all the people around him have to pretend like they don't see the obvious that anyone like you said with eyes and ears can see. Not to mention, you know, these are all people in Trump 2.0 in particular he selected for one quality: loyalty. These are all total complete sycophants. Most of whom are utterly idiotic and incompetent, would never sniff a high-level position in any functioning organization outside of their ties to Donald Trump. So this is it. This is their meal ticket. This is their path to any sort of relevance. So that's what keeps them all quiet. They have been selected specifically for the quality that he can do and say and act in any sort of unhinged or demented way and they are not going to say a word about it because they're all very flawed people and they have had issues in the past. And so he has that over them.
Don Lemon 34:09 ↗
That's a great point, too.
Crystal Ball 34:10 ↗
Right. But I always say my thing is that just, you know, I think a simpler way, you're more articulate about it. It's the shortest line to the front, right? And to stay at the front and you can sit, you can continue to stay in the movie theater or ride the ride at Disney as long as you play along. Otherwise, you're at the back of the line.
I mean, you think Pete Hegseth is going to not even be Secretary of War. I mean, they wouldn't even hire this guy. They didn't let this guy staff Biden's administration because he's such an extremist. So, and that's, you know, him, Kash Patel. You think this cast of characters would make it anywhere else? So, yeah, this is their meal ticket. This is why they've hitched their wagon to Trump. Actually, Tim Miller wrote a book about, you know, all the people he knew who are Republicans who quietly, you know, got sucked into the orbit and he talked about the different types of people and the way they would morally reconcile themselves. And one of the types that he said is the ones who were ambitious but did not actually have the personal traits or abilities to succeed. Well, this was a quick trip to the top because he will take anyone so long as they are good at the art of ass-kissing.
Don Lemon 35:20 ↗
I love you for that. I love being in this medium. You can actually say, can you imagine if you said that on CNN? They'd go, 'Oh my God, what is she having?' How many meetings? How many meetings would you have over that one, Don?
Do not invite her back on the network. Okay. So, we're trying to get Republican viewers. That ain't never going to happen.
Crystal Ball 35:43 ↗
Yeah.
Don Lemon 35:44 ↗
Uh yeah. Okay. So, you like the man on the streets. Here a couple more and then we'll, I won't play them all, but here they are.
Interviewee 35:51 ↗
That's low numbers because it should be, all Americans should find him unfit, mentally and physically and socially in every way possible unfit for presidency.
Don Lemon 36:02 ↗
Really? Why do you say that?
Interviewee 36:04 ↗
I mean, just look around at everything he's doing. He's a little bit cuckoo.
Don Lemon 36:08 ↗
Yeah.
Interviewee 36:08 ↗
Yeah. He's definitely not good for this country or the world.
Don Lemon 36:12 ↗
So, you're surprised more people don't think he's mentally fit?
Interviewee 36:16 ↗
Yeah. I think more people should be aware of this, but I think people are too embarrassed by their votes that they've actually voted for him and they're too ashamed to say that it's actually a mistake.
Don Lemon 36:30 ↗
Thank you.
Interviewee 36:30 ↗
You're welcome.
Don Lemon 36:32 ↗
Okay. Hi, ma'am. How are you? What you...
Interviewee 36:34 ↗
I love you.
Don Lemon 36:34 ↗
I love you, too.
Interviewee 36:35 ↗
You are so good. I watch you every day. I live in the... I was going to say to you, text you and say I want to meet because I live on 12th Street and I never run into you.
Don Lemon 36:46 ↗
All right. Don't tell everybody where we live.
Interviewee 36:47 ↗
But do you see this poll? He's a... I call him Humpty Dumpty.
Don Lemon 36:52 ↗
So, most Americans say Trump is mentally, physically unfit to serve effectively.
Interviewee 36:56 ↗
He is.
Don Lemon 36:57 ↗
He shouldn't even be here.
You got to love New York.
Interviewee 36:59 ↗
Should be in jail with his five kids and everything else that goes with him. I'd like to know why they're so possessed over him.
Don Lemon 37:08 ↗
Ah,
Interviewee 37:09 ↗
what does he have on all those people? They're so afraid of their jobs. Don't you think they should worry about you and me?
Don Lemon 37:14 ↗
Of course they should.
Interviewee 37:15 ↗
Right. It's disgusting. I'm appalled by the whole thing.
Don Lemon 37:19 ↗
What do you think happens in November?
Interviewee 37:21 ↗
We're going to kill him.
Don Lemon 37:23 ↗
You don't mean physically.
Interviewee 37:24 ↗
No. No. Meaning I think the Democrats going to wipe the out of them.
Don Lemon 37:27 ↗
Yeah. Yeah. Okay. You don't want to unalive the president. No.
Interviewee 37:30 ↗
Oh, no. No. No. I don't.
Don Lemon 37:30 ↗
I had to clean that one up.
Interviewee 37:33 ↗
I think the Democrat, the numbers, and that's why he's shooting pickles and that's why it's all about don't want to talk about Epstein and don't want to talk about this and the Iran war and going after Comey. There's a lot more underneath that we don't know.
Don Lemon 37:46 ↗
Thank you. Thank you.
Oh, like what? Wait, let me ask you. What don't we know?
Interviewee 37:51 ↗
Well, you know that Melania is one of Epstein's girls.
Don Lemon 37:54 ↗
Okay, we won't get there. No, we don't know if that's real. What's our sourcing on that? I need to know more.
Crystal Ball 38:02 ↗
No, I do not. All these people though, you're like, 'So, is he mentally unfit?' They're like, 'Yeah.' Like, 'Do you exist? Do you follow the news?' And you like, obviously, I like the lady that was like, 'What's bizarre to me is that this number is so low. It should be everybody who looks at this that is like, how could this man still be our president?'
