What Martin Shkreli said

Written from the verified transcript and checked against it. Every figure links to the moment it was said.

Martin Shkreli discussed Anthropic's Q3 revenue, calling it spectacular but noting the market wanted $18 billion instead of the reported $168 million, and highlighted a 50% quarter-on-quarter growth rate as unprecedented. He mentioned a $110 billion run rate at year end, implying a $2.2 trillion market cap. Shkreli then analyzed market movements, focusing on CoreWeave's decline from $100 to $60, calling for Nvidia to write a $10 billion check to bail out the company. He compared CoreWeave's situation to Lehman Brothers in 2008, suggesting the company should stay silent rather than address concerns. Shkreli noted CoreWeave's 2032 bonds trading at 80 cents, indicating default risk. He also commented on Paul Tudor Jones' warning about the market resembling 1999, disagreeing with that comparison. Shkreli mentioned a new trading demo product and discussed various stocks including AMD, SanDisk, and Intel.

Key takeaways

  1. Anthropic's Q3 revenue of $168 million was below the street's $18 billion expectation, despite 50% quarter-on-quarter growth.
  2. CoreWeave needs a $10 billion bailout from Nvidia to prevent a further decline below $60.
  3. CoreWeave's 2032 bonds trading at 80 cents signal market default risk.
  4. Shkreli disagrees with Paul Tudor Jones' 1999 market comparison, seeing no bubble.
  5. CoreWeave should stay silent on its troubles, following Cramer's advice during the 2008 crisis.

Anthropic reported pretty, I think, spectacular Q4 revenue — Q3 revenue. Morning Sizzle, Mr. Comment, but it wasn't enough. People wanted 18 billion. Street wanted 18 million — 168 instead.
Yeah, I think the market's going to have to digest this a little bit. Yeah, 50% quarter-on-quarter isn't enough is kind of a funny, funny dynamic. There's never really been a company growing that fast ever in the history of capitalism. So, you know, OpenAI is sort of an interesting difference. I mean, it's sort of a take-your-time kind of company. They've been kind of more deliberate about revenue growth, whereas I think the problem with growing that fast if you're Anthropic is eventually your growth will slow. But if, like Google in the early days, was very deliberate — you know, 30, 40% growth consistent — you know, they weren't trying to boil the ocean on day one. You know, everyone wants to grow as fast as possible, that goes without saying, but you know, success can be your downfall too.
Just reading some interesting clinical data. Yeah. They also said 110 billion run rate at year end, which is pretty solid. I mean, that's a 20 times — that number is 2.2 trillion market cap.
Good morning. Good morning. Happy Thursday. I don't know much about iron. Oh, sweet A. Thank you. Keith sends me a DM: 'Be there soon.' Letter B. Just B. Not B-E. Just letter B: 'Be there soon.' I'm still able to trade, though. It's funny, like, the more I looked into — Yeah, definitely got some stray shots for the FTC. I don't understand why that FTC guy is going to learn. That was a pretty unpopular motion. Everyone — I know the administration is scratching their head. Yeah, but Twist just shows you how hard it is to short, right? The thing went from — I mean, what a crazy, crazy difficult, you know, kind of game it is. Look at Twist. I mean, it was steadily growing, and the company has been, you know, really growing for years and years. It was just a little crazy at 200. It was crazy at probably 160, and now it's 140. But actually, I'm not sure this is the one to short. You know, I think there are probably better shorts out there.
Yeah, maybe TXG. Maybe, you know, GKO is a real dog-poo-poo company, I think. Make sure you check out godelterminal.com — the only terminal built for you, where you talk to me all day and tell me, boss me around, tell me what to do. Like it. Okay, let's see what's going on out there. Nvidia's down 3%. Micron down 4%, 875 — hasn't been in the 800s in a long time. SanDisk now 1300. Last night, Kyocera got really crushed. That's 285A, 12,000 yen. 517 down 4% despite great results. ASML down 2%, kind of hanging in there. Intel down 5%, $93. AMD 540. Software holding up — Microsoft up very slightly. Consumer hardware: Apple up 50 bips, 80 bips now. Salesforce up 2%. So maybe software is back. Palantir down 3%. CoreWeave under siege, down 7% to $61.
CoreWeave needs — Oh, good morning, Keith. CoreWeave needs a bailout. Nvidia has to step up and do a big deal with CoreWeave. If they want this rally to continue, Nvidia has to write a $10 billion check to Core. Nebius is down another 8%. Our quantum stocks doing — D-Wave down 3%, Rigetti down 4%, INQ down 3%. Else is active today. SpaceX down 5%. People forgot SpaceX is a Neocloud too. Meta hanging in there, only down 1%. Broadcom down 3%. Google hanging in there, only down 1%. Dell down 8% after a bad day yesterday as well. Marvell down 6%. Momentum down 8%. Walmart — rotation into Walmart. Walmart up 4% also. Yeah, that's it. Oracle flat, surprisingly, despite Neocloud carnage. Oracle somehow flat. Maybe Oracle makes its move on CoreWeave and bails out the young startup, the Icarus of the stock market. You know who Icarus was?
Co-Panelist 4:06 ↗
Your uncle.
Martin Shkreli 4:07 ↗
Is that a sly joke? You don't know who that is? You never heard of Icarus? It's definitely a name. Icarus was a mythological character. Icarus glued wings to his back and flew to the sun, but then the sun burned the wings off — the glue of the wings. Then it was over for Icarus. He didn't make it. Didn't make it. Icarus, he couldn't make it anymore. You know, a lot of people remind me of Icarus. You live a little too close to the sun.
Co-Panelist 4:34 ↗
Yes, very much so.
Martin Shkreli 4:37 ↗
You're not quite Icarus yet. It will be someday.
Co-Panelist 4:40 ↗
Morning. Thank you very much. Nice smile.
Martin Shkreli 4:42 ↗
Are they flirting with you?
Co-Panelist 4:43 ↗
All day, isn't it?
Martin Shkreli 4:44 ↗
All day. Nice smile. I want to go down there. They're going to be like, 'Brush your teeth.' Yeah, the nice smile wasn't for me. I like — I get a nice smile. It could get way uglier. I remember in 2000 the market was like this every single day. You think this is bad? Nothing about it. Internet, we're back. We're back. See how we're doing here. Nvidia rallying back a little bit, down two and a half percent. Intel same, down five. AMD down four.
SanDisk down six and a half now, 1300. Micron up only 4% now, slight rally that's been happening here on the open, little snapback rally. I think all eyes are on CoreWeave. I mean, this is the really important kind of situation in the market right now. Elon was out saying China's going to make a lot of memory, and there are some people in Korea worried about a memory glut — too much memory — which is an interesting fear. At least we're fresh lows, 60.75.
Nvidia also turning back down. SMH, the ETF again. We had a nice rally, but now coming off that rally a tiny bit. SMH — yeah, fresh, fresh low in SMH. Big, big drop in the last minute or two. It's not day low, it's a new low. Intel also dropped pretty dramatically there the last few seconds. AMD as well. A lot of people want to stay out of this market. Stay that way. Paul Tudor Jones warning that this market reminds him of 1999, the last year before the bubble popped in 2000. I can't say the same. I don't see that. Paul Tudor Jones — the interview I told you to read. Yeah, one of the best traders of all time. You don't read him, though. Oh wow. Because you're more of a visual person. You can't actually sit down and read, right?
Co-Panelist 6:27 ↗
Nice. Okay. Congrats, bud. You read a book.
Martin Shkreli 6:31 ↗
What do you guys think? That's good, right? Leopold's new fundraise is crashing once again. PTJ is the goat in my eye. Walter Jones. PTJ, ram crash, please. Vibes are off because of Chief Keef, I guess. Is Keith short SanDisk? Yes, he immediately responds. Probably a little early, but I think this panic and fear is probably bullish. It's probably a pretty good buy down here into earnings season, but you know, we'll have to see. Again, probably pretty early. Oh, Biohaven has obesity data coming out. Okay, I can check that out. Is that for their Myostatin, I'm guessing? Is SanDisk going to go up? Is SanDisk going to go up? Market crashing here. AMD dropping to fresh lows. That's just a trading demo, by the way. That's a new product we're releasing. Or we've — we bought Uber.
Co-Panelist 7:16 ↗
It's a demo, dude. Relax. Keith's upset. Keith's upset. Who's 'we'?
Martin Shkreli 7:20 ↗
I did that. So I thought you'd get mad.
Co-Panelist 7:23 ↗
Who's 'we'? Why is it saying 'we'?
Martin Shkreli 7:25 ↗
That's actually the problem with this lawsuit from the FTC. It's the same thing. Who's 'we'? Who's 'I'? What do you mean by that?
Co-Panelist 7:32 ↗
I'm dying over here. He's covering the SanDisk. What about the AMD? AMD is getting smoked like a smoked sausage.
Martin Shkreli 7:39 ↗
CoreWeave. Holy. They going bankrupt. Core's gone from 100 to 60. And when will it stop? When will the bleeding stop? Like I said, you got to see Nvidia come out and just buy it out, write a check, or it breaks 60. Yeah, it's quantum. It's not exactly demis, but it is beta. You also short a tiny amount. Definitely seeing some rotation into biotech. You know, we are in a compute shortage, but that doesn't seem to matter to the stock market. Full-blown panic that maybe we shouldn't be buying all this compute. Maybe, you know, the best quote-unquote AI company is not doing that well. Then what does that mean for the not-so-great AI companies? What are they going to do? Very, very serious question. Where is all this capex going? Man, AMD looking ugly, down 7%. AMD, of course, has the version of the Nvidia chips. Nobody uses AMD GPUs, but they do use their processors, they use their CPUs. CoreWeave trying to muster a rally, fighting back to 60. Like I said, they have to make a statement. They have to come out and do something. Announce a $200 million buyback. Bam. Like Lehman Brothers in 2008. Yeah. You know what Lehman Brothers is? It was your favorite. Lehman, of course, going bankrupt in 2008.
Co-Panelist 8:54 ↗
Oh.
Martin Shkreli 8:54 ↗
Marked the height of the financial crisis. CoreWeave going bankrupt would certainly mark the height of the AI crisis. But CoreWeave says they have no troubles. They have to come out. Do they ignore it? Do they come out and say it? You know, Cramer advised that when Bear Stearns and Lehman went bankrupt — you know, Bear, of course, was rescued by JPMorgan. But when those events happened, Cramer's suggestion was: don't come out. Don't say anything. Don't try to Wall Street. All you're going to do is cause more panic. Just say nothing, and it'll go away. If you start trying to fight it, say, 'No, our cash position is fine, revenue's coming in, we're capacity constrained.' You know, I think there'll be skepticism and more questions about, well, when will you not be capacity constrained? What'll happen next quarter? You know, the fear has to just die down on its own.
All eyes are on Core bonds. You know, they have a number of different bonds, and you can look at the price of bonds in Godel. Let's see how we do this. CoreWeave. Here's this bond. Here they are. And we've got some relatively old prices here. So I don't know where these trades are getting updated, but we're seeing these different bonds at 79. We've got 2032 paper. I think that's the one people care about the most. That's trading at 80 cents. I don't know where they are at today. Okay, market turning a little bullish here. CoreWeave surviving 60, ripping back — 60 spot 4.
Co-Panelist 10:27 ↗
That's — well, the price of the stock has survived. You went through 60, at 59.12, then back to 60, now 60.44.
Martin Shkreli 10:36 ↗
We'll see if CoreWeave can make it back to 61. Get a little development work here. Yeah, CoreWeave almost at 61. What did you say your dad spoke, Martin? Well, that's not a full sentence. Oh, he spoke Albanian, if that's what you're saying. Asking. Yeah, the market thinks it's a default risk. Absolutely. Are we rallying? Well, it's right around the same price we looked at, almost 61. 60.7. Yeah, almost 61. Right. Yeah. Billion-dollar piece of paper controls the whole stock market. That's what we're seeing here. Of course, logging me out while I'm live streaming. Who do you think is streaming? I need to auth in. Then who is streaming? Then who was phone? Do you know that meme? 'Then who was phone?' The really old 4chan meme. It's older than you. 'Then who was phone?' He mentioned that he met Keith on Grindr. Wow.
N chat, bro. Come on. Don't pay attention to these guys. You going to ask him not to say that again? Don't repeat that to people. I'll spread that. CoreWeave drops a slight bit, maybe 50 bips down to 60.40. Okay. Some things we should talk offline, and yeah, I'll show you how to do that. Let's see what else is going on. Mona rallying aggressively. CoreWeave rallying a bit, according to Keith, allegedly. Mona rally at 230. Stupendous. Just unbelievable strength. Hard to imagine that stock continues to rally, but we don't know. CoreWeave now 60.80, starting to rally, pick up steam. You know, if Jensen comes out and says he'll backstop CoreWeave, it goes straight to 80, straight to 90, and this rally continues. CoreWeave now looking 61, breaks through 61, 61.25. You're going to see shorts have to cover here. They wanted to break it. It's not going to break. Yeah. Oracle now up. Oracle now up. Oracle is a Neocloud. They are like CoreWeave. SpaceX hanging in there. EBUS down 10%. AMD rallying up a little bit here, only down 5% now. CoreWeave looking 61 and a half. Broadcom also up.
Look like a local bottom at least for now. Don't know what the next few hours will bring, but we all know the open and the 9:30 to 10:30 period is quite important. We have a trader friend who suggests that 10:30 dump is a very interesting phenomenon. So we'll have to see what that looks like. Are we back to 61? I like this guy who says your quotes are 15 seconds behind. It might be the stream that's 15 seconds behind because, yeah, no, we have real-time quotes straight from the exchange, buddy. ETH looks like a local bottom. Boom. Get him. Recent CNN smear campaign on Martin. Awesome. I want to watch that. Actually, it's a waste of time. Fake news. You fake, fake news. What's the bull thesis for Mona exactly? Who knows? CoreWeave now below 61 again, 60.6. Maybe sellers coming back into this market. Forgive them, Father, for they know not what they do. I used to have a bodyguard named Tony. You would have loved him. Shout out to Tony. Anyway,
