On September 17, 2014, Warren Lichtenstein spoke at the dedication of a building for the JCC of Aspen. During his remarks, Lichtenstein praised Mendel for his perseverance and vision in making the project a reality. He stated that the completion of the building was a testament to the community and reflected the idea that "if you can conceive it and believe it you can achieve it." Lichtenstein also made a humorous comment comparing the event's emcee, Bill, to Billy Crystal.

Warren Lichtenstein is a legendary Wall Street investor and chairman and CEO of New York City-based Steel Partners. Warren is not only a great friend and confidant of the JCC, he's taken an incredible interest in every detail relating to the design of this building. In addition to his aesthetic interest in this project, Warren has been proven to be a reliable and distinguished philanthropist for the benefit of the JCC of Aspen. Well, Bill, thank you. And Billy Crystal has nothing on you. So, thank you all for coming today, August 7th, 2014. And Mendel asked me to be here at the beginning of the summer. I thought to myself, there's no way this will be done. I don't need to be there. But Mendel, your perseverance, your vision, Lever you standing by his side, this vision has now become a reality. It's a testament to this community that this is here today, and it goes to show that if you can conceive it and believe it, you can achieve it. So thank you everybody. Mendel, thank you.
