About Beth Wozniak

Beth Wozniak, chair and CEO of nVent Electric, was inducted into the Minnesota Business Hall of Fame in 2026. In a July 2026 interview, she reflected on her early interest in science and engineering, and described nVent's growth since its 2018 spin-off from Pentair, stating the company grew from $2 billion to nearly $5 billion in revenue and aims to reach $10 billion. She attributed the company's success to its culture, team, and strategy, and noted that nVent has expanded its Minnesota facilities, including a new Blaine facility that began production 100 days after signing the lease, and now employs 2,000 people in the state. Speaking at a June 2026 Carlson School of Management event, Wozniak said nVent's revenue from the infrastructure vertical has grown from "a little over 10% at spin to nearly 50% today." She cited global electricity demand growth and AI data center expansion as drivers, and noted that nVent provides liquid cooling solutions for data centers. She advised new graduates to be open to possibilities and persistent, adding that nVent looks for talent with potential and a desire to work in teams.

Moments ago, the Minnesota Business Partnership rang today's opening bell in Minneapolis. And among the bell ringers was Invent's chair and CEO Beth Wozniak, who took me through some of her firm's biggest wins since it started trading on the stock exchange in 2018. Let's take a listen.
B
Beth Wozniak0:16
Well, it's been 7 years. When I think about Invent, we've grown significantly. Our market cap was just under 4 billion and now it's 12 billion. As an electrical products company, we're growing with electrification of everything with AI data centers. We always like to say the future is bright. So it's been a great trajectory of growth and value creation.
R

I like that outlook as well. And we understand that Invent's management office is based in Minneapolis. So take us through your company's history in the state of Minnesota.
B
Beth Wozniak0:52
Well, as we spun out of another company, although our brands have a lot of history going back decades, our roots are here. We've been able to build and grow because of the headquarters economy here in Minnesota, attracting talent to allow us to scale our business. Over the last couple of years, we've expanded our manufacturing capability and we're still expanding, adding hundreds of jobs.

How will Minnesota's headquarters ecosystem impact your company's future?
B
Beth Wozniak1:26
The thing that is great about our headquarters economy is our ability to attract talent from some of the other Fortune 500 companies. I always like to say when we're recruiting talent into the state, you have to like winter, but if you do, there's opportunity for your whole family. If two spouses have careers, for the quality of education, the communities that we have, sports teams, great airport, all of that really supports attracting talent into our company and into Minnesota.

When it comes to the products and solutions that your firm offers clients, where do you see opportunities for growth?
B
Beth Wozniak2:06
I think the exciting thing is as we see electrical infrastructure grow and data centers grow, we have some unique capability around liquid cooling which is essential for those chips that are very hot and doing all that processing. We're growing with data centers and adding more solutions that are energy efficient as well, driving performance. We're growing as the overall electrical grid has to expand. It took us a hundred years to get to the electrical demand that we have today, and in the next 25 years we need to double that again. Invent's products are critical and essential in that buildout of the grid, whether it's power connections or control buildings. Our growth is really looking at those macro trends of digitalization, AI, electrification, and sustainability.

Emerging technology like artificial intelligence is making an impact across all sectors. What opportunity does it present your firm?
B
Beth Wozniak3:10
Well, specifically as we see AI grow and data centers grow, we can help in liquid cooling which also provides energy efficiency. That's really important, but it's all the other things that go into that data center, whether it's power connections, power management systems. We're really partnered with large hyperscalers and all the other players in that ecosystem to help drive growth and scale, and do that in ways that provide labor savings or efficiency.
R
Reporter3:47
Interesting. How are you utilizing AI already?
B
Beth Wozniak3:51
We're still in our early days of using AI. Like many other companies, we're using AI to help us when we're doing some of our coding, when we're looking at cyber security threats, when we're looking at some of our transactional functions. There's so much more that we can learn and grow as we use AI. It's really helping us to supplement our capability as we grow so that our team members can be focused on more strategic tasks, and transactional things we can have the benefits of AI.

At the time of this interview, shares are up about 9% year to date. What has investors excited and where are you seeing the most demand among your customers?
B
Beth Wozniak4:35
What has investors excited is we've done a lot around portfolio transformation. We very intentionally acquired companies and focused our organic growth around new products that are helping to drive overall electrical infrastructure growth. I think our investors are excited by that opportunity that's in front of us and our ability to scale and really be part of those overall macro trends.
