My name is Julie Lodge Jarrett and I'm the chief people and purpose officer here at Dick's Sporting Goods. Our executive chairman and chief merchant gave me a tall order and he challenged me to help HR to become the soul of the company. The only way we've got a shot at becoming the soul of the company is to have a deep understanding of our teammates experience and to be able to gather their voice. And so it's really easy, especially if you're a large company, to become insular and to think the ideas can only come from you. Our teammates are our employees, our athletes are our customers. And we anecdotally knew that happy teammates will make happy athletes. And if we have happy athletes, we're going to deliver happy shareholders because we're going to grow our business. But our data now on the talent analytics side, as well as the athlete analytics side, has validated that for us. And there's a direct correlation between the top quartile of stores from a teammates satisfaction standpoint are also the top quartile stores from an athlete experience and satisfaction standpoint. And those stores are also the stores that are performing their best from a business standpoint. I worked for a leader who used to challenge us to find the proxy. If this is a really challenging problem, find the company that's already figured out how to solve it. And it's a great opportunity for us within the HR community to share what's working, to learn from others and many of the things that we've implemented, whether it's the concept of dialog circles or our teammate relief fund or some of our actions around even our talent analytics efforts have come from me and our teams connecting with our colleagues across the industry, within the HR community, and learning and sharing with each other.
