Hello. I'm Arani Bose, and I would like to congratulate Vipul Gupta and the organizers of the STNI, the first neurointerventional dedicated congress in India, on a remarkable achievement. To have organized the STNI congress in India for the first time, and to have done it in this most amazing year for neurointervention and for stroke therapy around the world, is truly a remarkable achievement.

I have started two companies over the last approximately 20 years in the United States. The first was Smart Therapeutics, and the second is my current company, Penumbra. These companies were started with the invaluable assistance, guidance, and help of Indian physicians throughout India, especially in Bombay, Delhi, and the fellows of these programs. These physicians have enabled me and others to impact the world of neurointervention in ways that could not be imagined before. This progress and this work could not have been accomplished without the incredible involvement from the very beginning of individuals in India.

Stroke, in this year particularly, has been revolutionized by trials and the validation of endovascular therapy. Fortunately, just a couple of months ago, we received Indian government clearance of our flagship device, the ACE catheter, in India. We are beginning the launch of the ACE catheter on this momentous occasion of the beginning of STNI in India, and we will work with India and Indian physicians to permeate stroke endovascular therapy throughout the subcontinent.
