About W. Rogers
In a 2022 interview, Rhett Rogers, Vice President of Portfolio Management at Rayonier, discussed his decision to join the company after graduate school. Rogers stated that he interviewed with multiple companies but chose Rayonier because he "felt at home with the people" he interviewed with and was impressed by the quality of their questions. He noted that he had little prior knowledge of Rayonier due to its lack of a major presence in his area, but the interview experience led him to select the company.
Rogers also commented on Rayonier's workplace culture, saying the company "does a really good job of giving everybody a chance to exceed." He expressed the view that a person's past is less relevant than their future contributions, and that Rayonier values what employees do "when you step in the door every day."

My name is Rhett Rogers. I'm the Vice President of Portfolio Management. I was interviewing with multiple companies right out of graduate school, and I came to Rayonier. I interviewed and I felt at home with the people that I interviewed with, and they made a really good impression on me. The people did. I like the area a whole lot. I didn't know a whole lot about Rayonier because where I lived, Rayonier didn't have a major presence. But really, it was the people that interviewed me, and the quality of their questions, and the feeling I had leaving that interview process made me choose Rayonier. I think Rayonier does a really good job of giving everybody a chance to exceed. Your past is less relevant than what you're going to do in the future. It doesn't matter where you came from, it doesn't matter what your background is. It's really what you do when you step into the door every day that makes a difference, and I think Rayonier values that more than some other companies.
