Yeah, thank you very much for having us today. So IPG Photonics is the world leader in fiber laser technology. We just come off the back of a record quarter in sales. We are a very diverse company; we sell globally across a lot of markets. We're most famous, of course, for materials processing, which includes cutting, welding, marking, drilling, cladding, and suchlike.

You mentioned that you had a record quarter this year. Can you tell me a little bit more about where you see the trends in the market?

Well, we've been benefiting from displacement of incumbent laser technologies, and we've also been benefitting from an expanding total available market. So what IPG has been doing for many years is to bring a product to market which is technically differentiating and commercially differentiating. So we have two very strong arms that we're moving into the market with, and it's enabling us to grow the market and grow our market share within that market also.

Much of what we have here at Laser Congress is more applications based. Can you tell me why you support this meeting?

We have 11 application centers around the world at last count. We're opening up the biggest macro application center in the United States next year in Marlborough, Massachusetts, not too far from here. And the ASL Conference is very important to IPG because it supports a lot of students. So we are a primary sponsor for the program; I think for the last three years we just renewed our sponsorship agreement for the next three to four years. So it's very important because we think it's key to support students that are still in research. But we've also got the applications industrial side to the conference this year, and you know, we're a powerhouse in that part of the marketplace as well. So I think it's a good synergy for IPG.
