So let's talk about some of the things that you hope to accomplish if elected. I mean, obviously when you enter something like this, you have a list of things that you campaign on and that you hope to get right to work trying to accomplish. What are the top three things?

Well, I have been blessed to have great relationships with both Republican and Democrat leaders in the House and Senate, and so I already have some good relationships fostered that I think will help in getting things done, especially for a freshman legislator. The two biggest things that I—granted, you kind of go where you're dictated to go—but the two things that are really on my heart that I think need to be addressed are anything that will help the economy. I mean, my family's hurting, your family is definitely seeing the difference in cost of groceries and gas and everything. Initiatives that can bring immediate relief to people of my district would have to be the number one priority. We pay the second highest gas tax in the country, and then we don't use the liquid fuels money that we take in to do the necessary infrastructure repairs; it gets shuffled off to some pension program. So that is probably the number one thing I would like to work on. School choice is a big thing for me too. I think parents of the district should have a say in where their kids go to school, not based on geography. They can take those tax credits to other places that fit their child and their academic goals. That's one area where me and my opponent drastically differ. She is very much not for school choice and has voted against it, and I'm very much for it. So when this opportunity came about, it took me about a month to decide what I wanted to do. This might sound kind of corny or flip, but this race wasn't going to be about Dave Buell's dream and his political career. I mean, obviously I have that dream, but this was going to be about giving voice and representation to a set of people that maybe are looking for something a little different, a new, fresher voice, a newer voice, a new set of eyes to look at some very old problems and see what they could do. We talked to my wife extensively, my pastor, my business partner, and it took me quite a while to decide that this is the right thing to do. When we decided, we're all in. My wife is very much part of the campaign. So yeah, there's a lot of things about the district that make it perfect for me.
