About Lisa Walter
Lisa Walter has served as the secretary for the Western Dressage Association of Florida, where she described her role as keeping board meeting minutes and records from other events. She directed members to the association's website for access to board member lists, advisory board information, bylaws, and minutes, and encouraged them to contact board members with suggestions or to volunteer. In 2011, Walter spoke about her experience as an independent photojournalist covering the G20 protests in Toronto in 2010. She stated that she was arrested after she said "you're hurting him" to police who were taking down a colleague, and that an officer told her she was obstructing police. Walter said she was pushed to the ground by three officers, that one officer squeezed her handcuffs tightly and another crushed her glasses under his foot. She described being held at the Eastern Avenue Detention Center, where she said detainees were crowded into cages without clean water or adequate food, and that she experienced sexist taunts from officers.
