Hi everybody, I'm Justin Patrick. I run the devices business here at Itron. That means my group makes all the meters that grab all the data for us to provide to our customers. It's really exciting. I've been here for two and a half years and this is my first DTEK, and I cannot believe the energy here. It's great to see everybody back in person. Being new to the industry, what I find really exciting is all the companies that are out here trying to find ways to analyze the data that our partners and our customers are using and help them to be better about managing their resources and the way that they run their operations. A lot of good thought going into how to make sure that we optimize and conserve our resources.
So one of the great things that I enjoy here at Itron is the saying about intelligence. And for the devices business, it's about intelligence starts here. For me, what that means is we're developing the products that grab as much data out of our infrastructure as possible. Grabbing that data allows our utility and municipality customers and then their end customers to be smarter about how they're using our natural resources and allow them to be really good at conserving our energy, our resources, our gas, and making sure that we are providing that data for the best sort of outcome for our utility and municipality customers. One of the exciting things that I've seen here walking around the show floor is all the companies that are trying to find ways to reduce the demand on our existing grid infrastructure, whether it's at the utility side or even on the consumer side, whether it's load control switching or whether it's a smart panel breaker that keeps the load down. It's really great to see companies doing that work.
