My name is Andrew Senn. I'm the Vice President of Marketing for Integer Holdings. Integer is one of the world's largest contract developers and manufacturers of medical devices. I'm currently in a marketing role, but prior to this role, I was responsible for research and development as well as project management, so I do have a technical background. I have undergraduate degrees in mechanical engineering and business as well as a graduate degree in technology management, all from the University of Saint Thomas, and I have an MBA from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota. I'm here today to talk to you about what I think is the most important skill for any career in STEAM, and that is teamwork. If you can effectively work as a team and you can collaborate with others and listen to their ideas, you have the ability to solve some of the world's biggest problems, and you also have the ability to come up with new and creative solutions because you can do that much more effectively if you work with others with diverse backgrounds and perspectives. So, you may have some experience working with a team in an academic setting as well as outside of school, but as you move into college and into the workforce, there will be an increased emphasis on using teamwork because it is essential to complete whatever you need to do from a STEAM perspective. Whether it's science, technology, arts, engineering, or math, it's important that you practice teamwork, so that's my perspective on what the most important skillset is for a career in STEAM.
