About Wayne West

Wayne West, Chief Executive Officer and Director at Hertz Global Holdings, has commented on the resignation of former CEO Mark Frissora, who stepped down in 2014 citing personal reasons. West stated that the resignation was a pivotal moment for Hertz and that new leadership could bring fresh perspectives to the company's strategic direction. He also noted that accounting errors totaling over $46 million dating back to 2011 had raised concerns about financial oversight, and that the company was committed to restoring transparency and trust. West remarked that the market's initial positive reaction to the resignation, with shares rising around 10%, indicated investor confidence in Hertz's restructuring efforts. He emphasized that appointing a new CEO with experience in financial restructuring was crucial for navigating current challenges and restoring stability. West added that despite the challenges, the company's relocation and construction efforts at the new headquarters in Estero continued on schedule, signaling commitment to future growth.

In the business world today, the man who was integral in bringing Hertz Corporation to Southwest Florida has stepped down as CEO and chairman. Mark Frissora reportedly resigned from his post for personal reasons. This news comes just over a year after Hertz announced it was moving its headquarters to Estero. One obvious question remains: what does this mean for the area? For Your Corner, K. Molina spoke with a local expert who says a new CEO may be exactly what's needed.

Experts say worriers can pump the brakes. Hertz CEO Mark Frissora stepped down today, citing personal reasons. But a financial expert I talked to in Bonita Springs tells me it's probably the best thing for the Southwest Florida company. We're proud to be able to call this our new home. Former Hertz CEO Mark Frissora won't be calling the new headquarters home. He stepped down this morning, citing personal reasons. But finance expert Amy Novakovich speculates that accounting blunders could be to blame. Here they need somebody that can keep the accounting in shape. Last month, Hertz withdrew its full-year financial forecast. In March, the company identified more than $46 million in errors dating all the way back to 2011. Anytime a company comes out and says, 'Well, we can't exactly do our earnings,' that's going to negatively impact right on the CEO. Pre-market trade shares were up after the announcement of Frissora's resignation. Check out that spike around 10:00 this morning. So the initial reaction was very positive. But Novakovich's biggest questions aren't for the former CEO; they're for the new one. Do they have experience coming in and kind of fixing a company? Because this company needs fixing. A Hertz spokesman declined my request for an interview but told me it's full speed ahead for Hertz's relocation plans, and construction on the Estero headquarters building continues on schedule. I think it's a positive thing for this area that the CEO stepped down, because now with the company getting a fresh start and a new place with new headquarters, I think it would be good to have a new CEO coming in. Brian McDonald, the CEO of Hertz's equipment rental corporation, is serving as interim CEO, and Linda Fayne Levinson has been appointed as independent non-executive chairman.
