Steve Nikolopoulos, Chief Procurement Officer at Newell Brands, participated in a 2019 "get to know the leadership team" video series for employees. In the video, he discussed his personal interests and habits. He stated that he has studied martial arts for nearly 25 years and enjoys going to the gym. He said he listens to old-school R&B artists such as Teddy Pendergrass and Donny Hathaway, as well as rock music, naming Led Zeppelin as his favorite band. He noted that he has a passion for cars and has rebuilt a couple of classic cars. He also said he is afraid of the dark and sleeps with the lights on when his family is away. In the same video, Nikolopoulos offered advice to his younger self, saying he would tell himself to "treat everyone that you meet with dignity and respect." He added that there is "something to learn — at least one thing from every person that you come into contact with in your life." He further commented that speaking reiterates what one already knows, while listening and observing is how learning occurs.
