To get an honor from an organization like There Are is a very big thing, I would say. Any leader or a school getting phone calls from There Are means serious business. Unfortunately, as a chaplain and a leader for the community, I know firsthand what There Are does for the community. When they call, they advocate for the community. They would do anything and everything to try to help if someone was unfortunately in need. I'm reminding myself about getting a phone call from There Are about three hours before circus, which was just a month ago. There Are called me up about three hours asking about an inmate, if an inmate would have a leela Vanessa dick, which we used our circus time. I had a chaplain at a correction facility who didn't even know that inmate was in that facility. There Are will firsthand, as an inmate in that facility, know what that inmate means, and we try to get it up there. They are going out more than they can to do for the inmates and ease the pain. I would say not only when an inmate is in jail, but they try to be helpful as a chaplain in a hospital upstate, which is close to one of the biggest corrections facilities. When an inmate unfortunately needs medical care and is being transferred to that hospital, the world will get a phone call from that family member who got advised that that inmate is being transferred to the hospital. They reach out to me immediately: can we have the best back there? Can we have the best result? Can we try to help that patient who is not only an inmate when he is in jail, but he's an inmate even though he's not in jail and in a medical facility? On the other hand, I wanted to take publicly my wife and family who are allowing me to do this on behalf of the community. It's totally not easy. Sometimes you have to help the community in the middle of the day, in the middle of your work. Sometimes you need to help them in the middle of the night. So I would like to thank my wife, my family, and I would like to thank my mother and the family where I grew up, my father who was a law enforcement chaplain for 35 years. I saw the role model. He passed away suddenly. I have a brother who is a chaplain from any law enforcement agencies, and they actually gave me the guidance and support to continue to do for others and help others, no matter what time. Whether it's in between a Yom Tov, or just when you're busy with the family, they are there. When someone is in need, you have to help that individual. This is one of the things that There Are does: they don't care what time it is. Whether it's a month of service, or an air of Chavez, or before Yom Tov, they will always advocate for that individual. Truly, I feel this is a team effort by working together. So the honoring tonight is a half from all the other schools. I publicly thank all the other schools. Sometimes they don't get the credit they deserve, but I would say every person is doing great work advocating for the community in their own field. So thank you, There Are, again.
