Waycaster described himself as a lifelong resident of North Mississippi and stated that he remained "extremely impressed with the quality of care" patients received during the pandemic. He thanked staff for their "compassion, love, care and sacrificial service," adding that the region needed them "more than ever." Waycaster concluded by saying he prayed that workers would "stay safe and well" and called them "heroes."
