Worship Leader0:03
Stay dressed for action and keep your lamps burning, and be like men who are waiting for their Master to come home from the wedding feast, so that they may open the door to him at once when he comes and knocks. Blessed are those servants whom the master finds awake when he comes. Truly I say to you, he will dress himself for service and have them recline at the table, and he will come and serve them.
Jesus is here. He has come to serve and refresh. Are you ready to meet with him? He's the Lord of lords, he is seated in glory, and yet he is the one who would leave his throne, come low, and serve his people with willing sacrifice. What kind of King is this? The one who invites you to recline while he takes a knee. This is our Jesus, the perfect model of leadership. To lead is to serve, be it pulpit or marketplace, in a home or in a nation. The Ekklesia is poised to sacrifice for one another for the transformation of our world. To lead like him, we must look like him, and to look like him, we must look upon him. So behold, he's worthy of your attention. He's near, available. So behold the glorious, humble, servant-hearted savior is in the room tonight. So behold, his invitation is here. Lean back, recline, and prepare your heart to meet with him.
Behold the one who can transform everything.
There will be no one like you, and no one beside you. Alone you are worthy of all praise. There will be no one like you, and no one beside you. You, oh Lord, are worthy. You are worthy of our praise tonight, Jesus. There will be no one and no one beside you. Oh, you are worthy of all praise. There will be no one like you, and no one beside you. You alone are worthy. Jesus. Hebrews chapter 12, verse 26. At that time his voice shook the earth, but now he has promised once more, 'I will shake not only earth, but the heavens.' The words 'once more' indicate the removing of what can be shaken, that means created things, so that what cannot be shaken remains. Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our God is a consuming fire. And we're going to do something a little unique tonight as we kind of kick off our time with the Lord and one another. We're going to go into another worship song, but it's actually a song of giving ourselves yielded to God and yielded to the flame of God, so that everything that's in there that shouldn't be in there is gone forever, and all that remains is an eternal kingdom. See, I was listening to a podcast about the silversmith who takes the fire to refine silver. He burns this silver, and he gets it super hot, and he has to tend to the flame the whole time because if he's not careful, he'll actually ruin the very thing he's trying to purify. And then the question was, how do we know it's actually purified? And the silversmith says this: I know it's purified when I can see my reflection in the silver. And I believe that God wants to burn us back into a place of wonder with him. We sang, 'You are wonderful, you are wonderful,' and there is an awe in God that he's restoring back to the church that actually causes purity like we've never seen before, until all that the world sees in you is the face of God. Jen's going to come up, and I want us as we sing this song, any place in there that resonates with you, I want you to sing it to the Lord. I want us to open our hearts to God and allow him to come in and consume any spot that needs to be consumed. Listen, he doesn't want to burn you to hurt you; he wants to burn you to actually restore your purest identity. It's actually the care of God, and it's actually him coming near because he is the consuming fire. This is called intimacy with him.
