About Praveen Kankariya

Praveen Kankariya, cofounder and executive chairman of Impetus, described the company as a "deep tech group of companies" focused on data engineering, machine learning, and artificial intelligence at the MP Tech Growth Conclave 2025. In a roundtable discussion on cybersecurity, he stated that the industry is "changing at very high speed with AI" and emphasized that both organizations and individuals need to take security and privacy measures. He also said that cybersecurity products should leverage AI going forward, while noting that adversarial attacks are also using the technology. In 2022, Kankariya took diksha, becoming a Jain monk under the guidance of Muni Padma Sagar. In speeches about his decision, he said he had been a model, actor, and entrepreneur before choosing the path of a monk, which he described as "the first step to be on the path of liberation." He stated that he took 12 and a half years to find his guru and that he wanted to "feel the peace, that happiness, the ecstasy, the eternal happiness" that diksha would give him.

We are on the onset of a boom where you see a lot of technologies coming in. And like I have always said, technology is increasingly becoming democratized, and that is just fueling it. You have numerous technologies which can actually play a big role in information security. Be aware of how your data is utilized and how your data is used for what purpose. So that's why this regulatory requirement is coming, providing the compliance requirement for the technology, for the technological and organizational base. So we have to take—it's not about the organization only; the individual also has to take security and privacy measures on a day-to-day life. Cybersecurity is anyways the most evolving industry that we are aware of because we have to be ahead of the threat factors or possible hackers who are trying to get into a system or data. So the industry is changing at very high speed with AI and a lot of other changes that we see around every sector. It's very important that we restrict ethical use of AI. On the other hand, AI is going to boost cybersecurity and elevate it to the next level. We are looking at adverse cyber attacks also using AI technology. At the same time, we as cybersecurity professionals can leverage it to protect ourselves much better. All the cybersecurity products and technologies also should leverage AI going forward, and that is the most exciting part because of the kind of challenges it brings together for the cybersecurity community as well as the overall technology community. That seems to be very, very exciting.
