So, I guess I don't really have to do introductions, right? But for those uninitiated somewhere maybe back in the back corner of the room, Alexis Ohanian is the co-founder of Reddit, the founder and general partner of 776 Ventures, and he's redefining venture capital through technology and investing in women's sports and mission-driven innovation. 776 manages 1 billion in assets. Key Quotes (2)

“In 2020 I pretty publicly resigned in protest from the board of Reddit, a company I had founded and was the face of for like 16 years in large part because I didn't want to have a conversation with my then three-year-old daughter about why I wasn't doing more to build intentionally and just be better.”

“It's been an absolute disaster for youth. Part of where I spend my time, my resources, my wealth and attention are in what I hope will be the next wave to give kids better alternatives and address the harms of digital culture.”

About Alexis Ohanian

Alexis Ohanian, co-founder of Reddit and a venture investor, has been active in women's sports, particularly through Athlos, a track and field league he founded. In September 2026 appearances, he discussed the league's growth, noting record-breaking prize money, a sellout crowd in New York, and millions of viewers for its first meet. He also mentioned adding field events, such as a long jump competition in Times Square, and increasing prize money in subsequent years. Ohanian described Athlos as a business investment, comparing it to other ventures like rocket companies or media projects, and said he aims to treat it like any other market opportunity rather than framing it primarily as charity or inspiration. Ohanian also spoke about his role as co-owner of Chelsea Women and his broader investment thesis in women's sports. He attributed the potential for growth in part to the success of athletes like Serena and Venus Williams, and he noted that in the U.S., soccer is often perceived as a women's sport due to the national team's achievements. He said he had considered buying a league in 2019 instead of an NWSL expansion team, and he described Athlos as a "second chance" to build something new. In a separate interview, he shared that he and his wife, Serena Williams, have one rule for their daughters: they can pursue any career as long as they do their best and aim for something useful. He also mentioned that his daughter Olympia was interviewing athletes at the Athlos event.
