What exactly is happening with Bitcoin? Six months ago, it was touching all-time highs. People were calling it the greatest trade of the decade. Institutions were piling in. The headlines were electric. And then it fell hard. Right now, Bitcoin is grinding around $70,000, down nearly 40% from its peak. The altcoins got even worse. A lot of people who bought near the top are currently underwater. The excitement has gone quiet. And the question everyone is actually asking, even if they won't say it out loud, is whether the big move is already over.
But here's what's strange. While retail investors are panic selling and calling the cycle dead, Michael Saylor, the man who put billions of dollars of his company's money into Bitcoin before almost anyone else believed in it, isn't nervous at all. In fact, he just said something that stopped the whole conversation cold. Then we have Raoul Pal, a former Goldman Sachs executive who runs Real Vision, saying what he's watching right now has him more confident about crypto's future than at almost any point in recent memory. In this video, I'm going to walk you through what both of these men are actually saying, not just the headlines, but the reasoning behind them. We're going to cover the Clarity Act, Bitcoin's layered future, the role of AI agents, and why one of them thinks this is the greatest decade of innovation in human history. Let's start with Saylor. Saylor says Bitcoin will never fail no matter how many lows and bear markets. And when you hear his reasoning, not just the confidence, but the actual logic behind it, it starts to make sense why. Because what Saylor is describing isn't a price prediction. It's a structural argument, one that's worth understanding right now when most people are distracted by the dip.

Bitcoin's not going to fail. It's got to succeed because Bitcoin represents economic empowerment to everybody on the planet. Bitcoin represents a protocol for economic prosperity. It's kind of like we're speaking English. And you're saying, well, what if people stop speaking English or just stop speaking? What if people stop speaking to each other? I don't think they're going to stop speaking to each other. 2026 is a great year, a transition year where we're seeing the large banks embrace Bitcoin. We're launching all these digital credit products like Stretch to retail investors and retirees and corporate treasurers and financiers and that's a great new group of supporters for Bitcoin. We've got probably the most supportive set of financial regulators in the history of the industry going into the Fed, at Treasury, at CFTC, the SEC. So, and we've got the Clarity Act soon to be passed, which is just very enormously legitimizing for the entire industry. So, I'm just looking forward to the advance and the expansion of the industry as it integrates into the mainstream financial world.

Saylor is calling 2026 a transition year. Not just a good year for price, but a transition, as in the way Bitcoin fits into the global financial system is fundamentally changing right now. He pointed to three things happening at the same time. First, the largest banks in the world are now embracing Bitcoin, not cautiously experimenting with it, actually moving in. Second, a new wave of digital credit products is being launched. Things like Stretch, which MicroStrategy is offering to retail investors, retirees, and corporate treasurers. These are tools built on top of Bitcoin that didn't exist in any serious form even two years ago. Third, and this might be the most important, the regulatory environment has completely flipped. Saylor named the Fed, the Treasury, the CFTC, and the SEC as the most Bitcoin-friendly set of financial regulators the industry has ever seen. If you've been in crypto long enough, you know how different that sentence sounds compared to five years ago. And then there's the Clarity Act. If you've been following crypto policy, you know this bill has been in the works for a while. Saylor described it as enormously legitimizing for the entire industry. What that means in practical terms is that companies, institutions, and advisers who are sitting on the sidelines waiting for legal clarity finally get it. Every pension fund, endowment, and family office that has been watching Bitcoin from a distance, the Clarity Act gives them the path to actually put money in. Now, Saylor isn't the only one watching the Clarity Act closely. Raoul Pal has been tracking it from a different angle, the political one.

Bitcoin was outperforming up until 108, 109, and then all of a sudden, yeah, from that is yes we broke that, but it was also liquidity. US liquidity was drained, and it was the same time the gold rally was happening which takes a bunch of liquidity out and therefore stocks and Bitcoin, which are the risk curve, the longest duration, kind of got hit. But it was all, it all happened at once. Yeah. The other big thing that I think is going to help this market is this Clarity Act. What's your probability that this gets agreed? My working hypothesis is the crypto lobby were the largest donors to the Republican party and Trump knows if he wants their money for the midterms, he's going to have to deliver this thing. So, he's been hands-on on this trying to get it done. From what I can gather, they kind of want to get it done in the next two weeks, agreed with the banks, and then it'll take a while to paper and stuff. Yeah. Because I think there's a certain window of which it needs to get done before it really gets punted into the next year. I was speaking to, I can't remember, somebody from Cynthia Lummis' office called me up and was talking about it. They're like, if we don't get this done now, it's six years. That was her opinion. Wow. It's like this is so crucial. I found it interesting that I think President Trump put out a tweet yesterday. That's right. I mean, Brian Armstrong, right? Brian Armstrong was just in his office, right? So, I mean, I was in crypto in 2013 where I've gone through all the wars. I never thought I'd see the president of the United States forcing the banks to agree to sign a bill on crypto. I mean, what a world.

There are a few things worth unpacking there. First, Scott Bessent. He is the current US Treasury Secretary. And Raoul's read on Bessent is straightforward. This is a macro hedge fund manager running the treasury. The playbook Bessent knows is add liquidity. Push the stock market higher. Get the economy moving and put money in people's pockets. That's a friendly backdrop for risk assets. That's a friendly backdrop for Bitcoin. Second, Brian Armstrong, the CEO of Coinbase, was recently in Trump's office. That's not a casual visit. Trump posted about it and Raoul said something that makes the whole situation very clear. The crypto industry was one of the largest donors to the Republican party in the last election cycle. Trump knows that if he wants that money again for the midterms, he needs to deliver on this legislation. Raoul puts the probability of the Clarity Act passing at greater than 50%. Regulatory clarity is the one box that needs to get checked before they can seriously start allocating. The investment thesis is already there. The numbers work. The risk return profile makes sense. They just need legal cover. That's why the Clarity Act is not just a political story. It's a demand story. And if it passes, the capital that comes in from the sidelines could be enormous. Now, one of the most interesting things Saylor said in this interview wasn't about regulation or banks. It was about what Bitcoin actually is and where it's going. Most people know Saylor's line. Bitcoin is digital capital, digital gold, a store of value. But in 2026, he's describing something much more layered.
Michael Saylor 7:23 ↗
I think that what's going to happen is we're going to use the first layer of Bitcoin as digital capital. I think you're going to see an explosion of digital credit at the second layer. I think that you're going to see digital money or digital currency at the third layer. And the third layer is going to be, call it a Bitcoin-backed stablecoin or it's going to be a savings coin. It'll be like the dollar. You'll be able to move it around as a medium of exchange. It'll be integrated into all of the trillions of products and services that are priced in dollars and all of the hundreds of millions of companies that take and spend dollars. But it will offer a much stronger yield. You know, more like a six, seven, eight percent yield, which outstrips the cost of inflation and that'll be strong, high-powered money built on Bitcoin.
