About Yaniv Vakrat
At a March 2023 developer conference, Yaniv Vakrat, Chief Business Officer at Wix, described the company's shift toward serving larger enterprise customers. He stated that Wix is "no longer just this no-code closed platform and completely open," and that developers "can create any kind of online solution that you want today for your business." Vakrat said Wix is building a dedicated product for enterprises, including an administrator dashboard for managing multiple sites and provisioning licenses, as well as content management functionality for a distributed architecture. Vakrat emphasized that "Wix is the glue that enables integration with almost anything you want," citing payment systems, CRM, and ERP as examples. He noted that enterprise customers are using pieces of the Wix platform via APIs to develop their own applications with different user interfaces. Vakrat invited developers to participate in the company's enterprise journey, saying the platform now allows in-house and independent developers to deliver customized solutions "without worrying about security and scalability."

Good morning everyone, how are you doing? Terrific. Well, welcome to the second day of our Dev conference. This is super exciting. My name is Yaniv Vakrat, I'm Chief Business Officer for Wix. I'm running the Enterprise business, Channel partners, and business development and a few other things in the company. You're probably wondering why the Chief Business Officer is coming to talk to you in a Dev conference. I'm wondering the same thing. But seriously, I'm very excited to share with you today the journey that we're going through and some of the things we're doing in the Enterprise business because I truly believe that what we're doing from a business perspective with much bigger customers is very applicable to developers and represents a tremendous opportunity for you. So without further ado, let me kick it off.
So, Wix over the years is now starting to grow up market. And what I mean by that is that when we started many years ago, the core business really focused on self-creators and micro businesses. Over the years, as the product roadmap evolved and started becoming more and more functional, we actually introduced business solutions that provide value to small business. You guys all know that. And we also started working with many partners, many of you guys here in the audience, to be able to start building web solutions for these small customers.
About two years ago, we started evolving into what I refer to as up market. So from small businesses to the mid market and now to Enterprise. We are opening the platform, as you guys heard yesterday, and we're allowing partners and developers and designers and marketing agencies to start delivering much more sophisticated use cases to much more evolved customers, so much bigger customers.
Let me share with you a little bit of what we're seeing in that space and how people are leveraging and using our platform. We have marketing departments in very large companies starting to use Wix to build landing pages at scale. We have some of these large customers are starting to use Wix to develop internal sites, things like their employee perks sites, things like HR communication internally. We have some Enterprises leveraging our platform to develop really Enterprise grade applications. We're even starting to see some use in the e-commerce at a very large scale for Enterprises.
What does it mean for you? You heard a lot about the open platform, both from Vishai and many others yesterday. What we really shifted is from having an architecture that has everything as one cohesive thing, and you've seen yesterday the Ecom platform, to a much more open and distributed functionality. This comes to bear with some of my customers in the Enterprise space that are starting to use bits and pieces of what we have and really develop their own application with a different UI, not even using the UI that we have, but literally using us from the outside using APIs.
We also are developing a dedicated product for these Enterprises. We're building a dashboard that is targeted at administrators in the Enterprise to be able to manage multiple sites, to be able to provision licenses inside the Enterprise, and do many different things that we weren't able to do before. We're also providing functionality in terms of content management that will actually enable those Enterprises to have a distributed architecture for their content, the way they use content inside different pages in the Enterprise. What you guys have seen yesterday with blocks, I think, is a major milestone in this journey and the way we're going to basically enable much more sophisticated use cases for Enterprises.
There's a set of tools. You heard about most of them, APIs. You heard a lot about the APIs we expose today. You can actually create websites outside of Wix using parameters that you can pass on to start creation APIs and develop all sorts of really cool things all from the outside. You heard Vishai and others talk about the security, reliability, and scalability. We have very exciting times for Enterprise developers and for developers in general.
So if I try to summarize it, we have the Enterprise architecture out of the box that provides reliability, scalability, security, everything that you need in order to work in an Enterprise environment. On top of that, we built the Enterprise product that has dashboard administration capabilities and collaboration, much more sophisticated content management with hierarchies, etc. We even enable customized funnels for our Enterprise customers. And then really, Wix is the glue that enables integration with almost anything you want, whether you have a different payment system that you want to work with, CRM, ERP, anything you want to connect is really something you can do today at Wix. And that's really the main message I want to leave you with.
So we are curious about where you guys are going to take this next. We invite you to participate.
