Kril said the company is discussing with the Hellenic Air Force opportunities to include some of its solutions on Greek Apache helicopters. He highlighted the naval domain as an area that would evolve, promoting the company's Seagull multi-mission USV system and Skylark UAV family. Kril said Elbit had decided to put all its energy under one branded entity, Elbit Systems UK, to tackle sensitive information opportunities and be a local UK presence for projects with the UK Armed Forces.

So ladies and gentlemen, good afternoon. We are here with Ran Kril, Executive Vice President of Elbit Systems. Thank you for being here with us today.
R
Ran Kril0:09
My pleasure.
I
Interviewer0:11
We are in DEFEA 2025. Elbit is a significant company that has penetrated the European market because Europe has decided to rearm itself, and Elbit plays a significant role in that because its systems are quite adaptable and very highly sophisticated. So tell us some things regarding Elbit Systems.
R
Ran Kril0:40
Thank you for the opportunity. We at Elbit, as the biggest defense company from Israel, are honored to participate, not for the first time of course, in DEFEA 2025. We are a long-experience participant in the Greek market, and we are promoting and presenting here some of our advanced solutions that are nowadays substantially required by the European market. As you said, the European market is planning to rearm and increasing dramatically the defense budget, and we have brought our proven solutions that we have succeeded fortunately to sell also to other European customers. It will be our pleasure to promote it here during the fair 2025.
I
Interviewer1:39
One of the most important, at least for the European audience and European countries, systems is actually PULS, which is a highly sophisticated artillery system. It's quite adaptable and of course can cover a lot of needs regarding not only the artillery but in general all land systems. Tell us some things about this very interesting and adaptable system.
R
Ran Kril2:09
So yeah, you said very correctly. During the last years, the requirement for long-range precise rocket artillery was developed not only in Europe but mainly in Europe as part of the lessons learned from the wars in Europe. Elbit Systems has developed a very unique and advanced solution called PULS with a variety of precise ammunition for different ranges. We have fortunately succeeded to promote and sell that solution to various European customers, and it's our pleasure to present it here also in DEFEA and get the interest of the Greek Ministry of Defense and government for that solution, as well as we understand that there is a requirement for this kind of solution also in Greece.
I
Interviewer3:10
Actually yes, there is a specific need, and as we already know, the ministry is about to search for systems like PULS. As you said, there are many variants regarding the rockets and the ammunition. I would also ask, because we are mainly a country that is surrounded by sea, is there any kind of ammunition that can be used against ships? Because the PULS dome would include also systems for anti-ship use.
R
Ran Kril3:52
The system has a very wide utilization and operational capabilities. It has, as I said, various ranges from a very long range of 300 km, very precise. I think that the system would cover most of the needs of the European market. As part of that, whenever we are doing and selling that system in Europe, we are using a local supply chain. This is part of our strategy to have also a collaboration with the Greek industries in order to promote that system as well.
I
Interviewer4:37
That's very important because also the ministry has declared that every new procurement would have to include 25% at least as a minimum domestic production. As you mentioned, Elbit is willing to do that.
R
Ran Kril4:50
Not only willing, this is part of our strategy. We are working worldwide. We understand the necessity of countries to localize the activities, and in every contract that we are doing, not only in Europe, we are striving to include the local industries and supply chain. If we will be selected in Greece, we will do it as well.
I
Interviewer5:19
There are, I guess, first to mention of course programs that in Greece have a priority. For example, we want to modernize the Apaches. We know that Elbit can play a significant role in that. How do you intend to involve in this program?
R
Ran Kril5:46
Elbit has a very wide portfolio and solutions also for the rotor-wing section. As you know, in Israel, the Israeli Air Force is operating the Apache as well, and we are providing some of our solutions to that platform. Indeed, we are discussing with the Hellenic Air Force about opportunities to include some of the solutions also in the Greek Apache.
I
Interviewer6:18
Also, another weapon that is highly interesting for the Greek audience is the Rampage missile, which is a very impressive missile due to its specs. Would you like to talk some more about that?
R
Ran Kril6:36
I will talk about the capability of the Rampage without details of specific programs. Indeed, Rampage is a strategic long-range missile that was developed by Elbit Systems with a very unique capability and integration on a variety of platforms. Of course, it's operational in the Israeli Air Force, but not only. It's being installed on a variety of platforms and provides an air force a strategic strike capability, which I would assume is relevant also for the Hellenic Air Force.
I
Interviewer7:15
It would be my fault if I didn't ask something that Elbit is actually a big player in the global market, which is electronic warfare. We know you have a lot of systems, you are developing new technology about that. So how do you see electronic warfare in the future? How do you envision this part of warfare?
R
Ran Kril7:38
Electronic warfare is part of spectrum dominance, one of Elbit's leading technologies. We are the EW house of the Israeli Defense Forces, and we have been providing our unique electronic warfare solutions to European and NATO customers. It's an evolving market, so the threats are evolving, and for that, we need to further develop our counter-threats. As a country which unfortunately is in a fight continuously and we have unfortunately several enemies around us, this is part of a very major technology that we are leading in Israel successfully, and we have successfully promoted that to other customers to benefit from things that we've developed in Israel.
I
Interviewer8:39
Israel in general, but especially Elbit, is also focusing on the market of drones, UAVs. Of course, you have a very big variety of different systems. Please describe your activities regarding drones, UAVs.
R
Ran Kril8:55
Elbit Systems is the main provider of unmanned capability to the Israeli Defense Forces. We have a very wide family portfolio of unmanned systems, from very small drones and quadcopters to our biggest male UAV. This is the backbone of the Israeli Air Force. We see more and more demand in the battlefield for unmanned solutions, and we definitely will continue to promote and further develop our capabilities. This is something that we are seriously considering to promote and to collaborate also in the Greek market for the long strategic future.
I
Interviewer9:37
This is a great opportunity for us because, as you know, we have decided to develop our defense industry, and of course, Elbit could play a significant role in that. Please feel free to add whatever you like, because I always ask this, because sometimes while talking I forget things, but you of course are free to add.
R
Ran Kril10:07
One thing that you forgot, that we really have a great pleasure to be here. We are more than welcome. This is for us like our own country, so we are very welcome here. The dialogue between the government and the people are very strong, and that supports the collaboration also for defense. I think that we have mutual threats and mutual challenges, and it will be our pleasure to continue the fruitful dialogue with the Hellenic government, with the Hellenic defense forces, and with the industries for the benefit and strengthening the capability of the Greek armed forces.
I
Interviewer10:51
Thank you so much for the interview. Hope all the best. Hope you have a nice day here in Greece. Successful for everyone.
R
Ran Kril10:58
Thank you very much. Thank you very much.
