“To the question about our people and our land – about our Crimea – there must be a clear and principled answer: this is our state and our land. The Ukrainian people, our indigenous peoples of Ukraine, the Crimean Tatar people cannot be deprived of their homes. If the world allows Russia to take homes from some, it will go and take them from others as well. It has always done so, and we must ensure that this will never happen again. Dear compatriots, dear Ukrainians. Today is a day that very clearly shows how we must protect Ukraine and from what. Since night, Russia has not stopped attacking our state. Shaheds, missiles of various types. It is clear both at night and during the day, in Kharkiv, in our Poltava region, in Zhytomyr region, in many other cities and communities of Ukraine, in Kyiv, in the region. And this is at a time when, without exaggeration, the whole world already wants to end this war, Russia's war against Ukraine. And when this war adds its destructive consequences to other ongoing wars. And when the team of the President of the United States of America, our team, European teams, have come as close as possible and substantively to resolving issues of security guarantees for Ukraine, which are needed for peace to be truly reliable. Security guarantees. This must be a strong structure with various components, primarily military components. And this concerns what partners are ready for. To prevent a recurrence of Russian aggression. Financial guarantees are needed so that every one of our soldiers knows for sure that his service will be fully provided for. Of course, clear guarantees of the availability of weapons are needed. And this concerns what we have in our arsenals, very specific things. And what we produce independently in Ukraine together with partners. And on each component of the guarantees, we are moving. Moving somewhere faster, but of course, everything is not very simple. It is clear, but we are working quite actively to ensure that security guarantees for Ukraine are, above all, reliable. But there must also be a strong moral component among the security guarantees for Ukraine. A special component for all our people without exception and for the entire territory of our state. We must not let anyone forget that only Russia is responsible for this war. And regarding the full-scale war, Russia went step by step. And its first aggressive step was a step against our Crimea. In the 90s, during the crisis around Tuzla, Russia later prepared the ground to take our Crimea. In 2014, the Russian occupation of Crimea began precisely from this. And with that step, Russia did not stop precisely because instead of a strong moral reaction from the world, there was a weak and cynical reaction. Having seized Crimea then, the Russians felt that they could remain absolutely unpunished. The world did not react as it needed to react. Russia felt that it could calmly receive this reward. Our Crimea and the world turning a blind eye to it. War, unfortunately, always goes further if the aggressor feels that everything can be forgiven and something can be gifted to him. Now we are fighting maximally on principle so that the aggressor receives no reward for the war, so that Russia truly answers for everything, for aggression against us, our people, against all of Ukraine. And so that Russian crimes against people, against the state, against sovereignty, independence, against our Crimea do not go unpunished. And when sometimes we are asked to behave weakly, cynically, we respond very on principle. Russia must not profit from the war and from the war. World sanctions must really work. And Russian aggression must not be normalized by anyone in the world. The question of our territorial integrity, of Ukraine's sovereignty, of our land, of all our people, and therefore the question of our Crimea is absolutely on principle. We will definitely end this war with a worthy peace for Ukraine. And so that there are no new Russian aggressions, no Russian missiles and occupiers, and so that there are enough safeguards against Russian aggression. There must be a moral security guarantee for Ukraine, for Europe, for the world. A guarantee that Russia will not have the world's permission to consider some part of another country as its own, Russian. A guarantee that the aggressor will not become stronger by stealing another people's land. A guarantee that Russia will not start demanding something else from Ukraine or any other country in Europe, blackmailing with missiles or any other Russian terror. Therefore, on the question of our people and our land, of our Crimea, there must be a clear and principled answer. This is our state, this is our land, this is our Crimea. The Ukrainian people, our indigenous peoples of Ukraine, the Crimean Tatar people, cannot be deprived of their home. If the world allows Russia to take the home of some, it will go to take from others. It always did so. And it must be guaranteed that this will never happen again. And that is why security must be comprehensive and truly guaranteed. I ask you to continue fighting for this. I ask you to be active and, when necessary, loud, so that all partners definitely hear you, even those who do not want to. And always principled, so that we achieve the results necessary for Ukraine. I am grateful to you for being with Ukraine. I thank everyone who fights for our state, for Ukraine's independence, for our rights, territorial integrity. I thank everyone who does not forget about our people in Russian captivity, in Russian camps, in Russian prisons. We must get them all out. I signed a decree that provides more real opportunities for you to protect your entire state, all of Ukraine and our Crimea, all our people and the indigenous Crimean Tatar people, our security and your security, our right to live freely on our land. The Mejlis has always been and is the representative body of the Crimean Tatar people. So it was and is in fact. And we are enshrining this legally and politically so that your capabilities are stronger, so that our common Ukrainian capabilities are stronger. We must put an end to Russian aggressions, strikes, and abuse. We must guarantee all components of Ukraine's security. We can do this only together, on principle, all in Ukraine, all in Europe and the world. If we continue to be maximally effective, active, and do not forget the lessons of the past. I thank you, thank you for your activity, thank you for your service in our state. Glory to Ukraine! Glory to the heroes!
