About Avishai Abrahami

Avishai Abrahami, co-founder and CEO of Wix, has been discussing the company's growth, the impact of artificial intelligence on web development, and his management philosophy in several recent interviews. In April 2025, Abrahami stated that Wix sees about 1.5 million new users joining each month and has over 300 million registered users. He noted that while high interest rates have made it harder for small businesses to start and have affected Wix's customers, the company continues to see demand because a website is a critical part of a business. Abrahami also commented on the state of AI, saying he believes large language models will become a commodity and that "none of us will remember LLMs in five years." He expressed skepticism that AI can be controlled, stating, "I believe there's no chance we will be." Abrahami has also spoken about his approach to running Wix. He said he reviews about 130 pages of metrics monthly and 30 pages weekly, arguing that simplifying measurement to only ten things means "they don't know what they're doing." He emphasized the importance of maintaining company culture and not adopting habits from less successful companies. In a 2022 engineering podcast, Abrahami described his hands-on involvement in coding sessions aimed at dramatically reducing the amount of code needed for services, with a goal of making projects that took months take days. He has also discussed Wix's history, noting that the company went public in 2013 with 32 million users and 550,000 subscriptions, and that by 2016 it had grown to 86 million users and over 2 million subscriptions.

I want to go with a once red-hot tech stock that's pulled back pretty substantially in recent weeks, like a lot of the others. The whole tech edifice got slammed early this month. Consider the case of Wix.com, one of my favorites, the cloud-based web design company. It helps individuals and small businesses create their own websites. Here's a stock that's rallied more than 58 percent year-to-date, very quick, they plopped 79-71 over the past couple weeks. You know, market's been tough. Could this pullback be a long-awaited buying opportunity? When Wix reported last month, the company posted some impressive revenue growth, 51%. Earnings lost a little bit wider than expected, but more important, the company raised its full-year guidance. Yet the stock's now below where it was trading before the quarter. I mean, it seems enticing. Don't take it from me though. Let's talk to Avishai Abrahami, he's the co-founder and CEO of Wix.com. Get a better sense of what's going on here. Avishai, welcome back to Mad Money.

Hey, good to be here. Thank you.
J
Jim Cramer0:57
Now, this sign-ups, 2 million a month, 6 million registered users, 11% of people taking the upsell. I mean, this is a halcyon time for Wix.com.
A
Avishai Abrahami1:08
It's a super fascinating time. We see huge growth everywhere. We see that in the United States, outside the United States, but it's not tapped out. I mean, when I first started, I said they must have everybody, but you have a fraction. Well, apparently, right, apparently we're still adding about almost 2 million every month. Friday, it seems to be growing, not shrinking. So yes, I think there's a huge amount of people that still need to move their business online, move what they do to the internet. 50 percent of the small businesses in the United States don't have a website yet.
J
Jim Cramer1:35
Now, I think there's some really interesting data which shows that if you use, let's say, two almost identical places, one uses a Wix website and one doesn't, it's the other side website. The most important thing is where you are in Google. Yeah, how come Wix comes up so often?
A
Avishai Abrahami1:49
Well, so one other thing we did now is that we built something called an SEO wizard. So it helps you optimize...
J
Jim Cramer1:54
You're a wizard.
A
Avishai Abrahami1:55
Yes, so search engine optimization, right? So statistically, what we found out is that people that actually went on and completed that SEO wizard, 65 percent of them will be within a couple of months on the first page in Google.
J
Jim Cramer2:08
That's incredible. So you usually charge for that?
A
Avishai Abrahami2:10
No, that's part of the offering. That's free.
J
Jim Cramer2:12
So what do I get? I pay up. I mean, what more do I need? So basically, you know, all the commerce, all the business management tools will cost money. Connecting your domain, having your own branding, but even that, you know, it's tens of dollars. It's not a thousand dollars. And mind you, if I'm Jack Ma, I'm saying everybody in America should sell on Alibaba. But we don't. Now we got Wix.
A
Avishai Abrahami2:33
Well, I know, I'm... yeah, my belief is that you probably want to control your brand. You want to be able to drive your customers. You want to create an environment where you can actually talk to your customers, right? And to do that, Wix is the perfect solution.
J
Jim Cramer2:44
Okay, so how about this new video initiative? Which to me, as someone who owns a restaurant, owns an inn, I mean, I think it's a natural. I always want to show people the rooms, always want to show people the way that the dishes are made.
A
Avishai Abrahami2:54
Well, so this is something new that we released, and we are adding that. It just happened, and we actually see that it's going super fast. We're really excited about it. These are incredibly creative. We see education things happening around. We see people that are building like recipes or training, right?
J
Jim Cramer3:09
Well, I think user-generated content is important. I watch, I look at people who do makeup, and I look at people who cook, and they give it away on Google. They make nothing. But people would pay if they had the right site. This is going to give it to them, right? Give them the ability.
A
Avishai Abrahami3:25
Exactly. I mean, actually, that's a lot of things that we're seeing now. We have users that came from YouTube, moved to Wix, started their own solution from there, right? Some of them make over $10,000 a week just by doing that.
J
Jim Cramer3:36
So much money, making $520,000 a year for what they're putting on their videos that used to be on YouTube for free. They're putting them now in a Wix site and then asking for a subscription, right? For people to come and consume those videos. So let me ask you, why is Facebook not doing what you're doing? Why is Google, why aren't they trying to put you out of business?
A
Avishai Abrahami3:55
Well, I think that it's a completely different philosophy, right? Google helps you find things on the internet. Facebook helps you communicate with people, right? And I think that the YouTubers come up with different things with Google because they also allow you to share your content. But their business model is finding a video, right? And then... and this is a way for you, I think, as a Wix user, to market, put some video out there, build a website, a lot of content, and then you actually drive traffic to it.
J
Jim Cramer4:21
But it's important, and other people, your questions grew by 51 percent year-over-year, 140 million, but that does not include video yet. That just started.
A
Avishai Abrahami4:29
Yes, yes, we just started the video initiative, and we're seeing that it's going really, really well.
J
Jim Cramer4:33
And now tell me about marketing for millennials. Wonder Woman.
A
Avishai Abrahami4:39
Yes. So we did a Super Bowl, of course, with Gal Gadot. Yes, yes, it was very good. Actually, it was kind of different because it's two people fighting, and you know, somebody being really creative about how he recovers from a disaster that happened to his business. It works very well, and we see that people actually realize what we're trying to say, and that Wix is an amazing way for you to quickly, easily create a professional website.
J
Jim Cramer5:02
You think I'm chasing second? I think that this... some stuff does... some stuff... okay, so I'm sorry, okay. And now we're doing something like Karlie Kloss, which is a supermodel that represents beyond modeling. She's a coder.
A
Avishai Abrahami5:19
She is a coder, with Karlie Kloss, yeah. She actually knows how to write code. She learned that. There's a way... still regenerating... she actually... well, she actually coded herself. But beyond that, she has this incredible initiative where it's called Kode with Klossy, where she teaches women how to code and build computers. And that's brilliant, right? So for us, our values and Karlie's values are so well aligned that we're like, she came to us.
J
Jim Cramer5:42
Tell me about the evolution of how she found Wix, or is it that everybody finds Wix? Because that's what I'm kind of... now I found Wix, I only say it's like, I don't know how to do it, people know to go to Wix.
A
Avishai Abrahami5:52
It is true. I didn't go to... go to Wix. I mean, I just... I ask like young people, that's what I did. How do you make a website? I want to... some people on Etsy, how do you make a website? And they'll go, 'Two weeks, like, right.' And so because I think it was the other guy. So today there's a lot of smaller platforms, mostly in the United States, like Squarespace and Weebly, and one with a Libyan on it. But I think that the technology gap between us and them is so huge. But this is also worldwide. I mean, we are in a lot of countries. We are selling in 190 countries. We're global. They're more localized.
J
Jim Cramer6:24
Wow, I gotta tell you, I mean, and it does not include any of that. Just explain to people the upsell model so that they understand that you get, you know, again, so how you make money, because people say they've heard 'free, free, free.' How about it's actually true? You can use Wix and build a website for free.
A
Avishai Abrahami6:40
I know that when you start, and then when you start to use more of the business features, right, you want to have e-commerce, you want to have a way for people to book your services, this is where we charge.
J
Jim Cramer6:50
But what do you charge per month for the knowledge? About unlimited... so $15, $20? That's probably the most somebody will pay to run a full business on top of Wix. And you can make enough money like that?
A
Avishai Abrahami7:01
Well, there's a lot of people in the world, right? And that's why I think a lot of people are like that, like the optimistic.
J
Jim Cramer7:06
Now you're doing so well since I saw you last. I mean, I don't know how many more you've added, but it is incredible. And the stock's been a rocket ship, as it should be. And I don't... look, there's a pullback, like I said, it's not... some 58%, nothing wrong there. That's obvious. That's a buying opportunity. Avishai Abrahami, co-founder and CEO of Wix.com. Okay, it's what people use. Stick with Cramer.
