About Douglas Bauer

Doug Bauer, CEO of Tri Pointe Homes, has described current housing market conditions as "average," giving it a grade of "C" in a June 2025 interview. He stated that demand remains at the "top of the funnel" but that consumer confidence has been affected by "the election and other economic uncertainties" over the past 11 months. Bauer said the company is not seeing any impact on construction costs from tariffs in the short run, citing enough slack in the industry to drive cost savings. He expressed a bullish long-term outlook, citing a structural limitation on housing supply and demand from millennial and Gen Z buyers, who he said represent two-thirds of the company's buyers. In earlier appearances, Bauer emphasized that the long-term fundamentals for housing "look really good," pointing to an underbuilt market and the "locked in" resale market as tailwinds for new home builders. He noted that Tri Pointe has used tools such as forward commitments to offer mortgage rates as low as 5.99% to attract buyers. Bauer has also commented on the potential impact of the incoming administration, stating he expects a "positive business and economic effect" from deregulation and tax policy, while noting that new homebuilding regulation is primarily a state and local issue. He has described the company's culture using the acronym HEART (humility, empower, authenticity, results, team) and said he enjoys working with teams and seeing team members develop.

Hey, I'm Doug Bauer, PDGA 45706, and local Central New York exceptional intermediate golfer. You heard of me, and this is what's in my bag. Finished third. Going to start out with my overstable drivers first.
I got a Discmania PD2. Very overstable. I can crush out of it into a headwind, come back every time. Very reliable, great disc. You should check it out.
Also have a Discmania DD2. Great stable driver, just flat and straight, 450 every time. So also have it in S-Line and the C-Line. Very durable, S-Line a little more grippy. Great disc. You should check them out.
Got a Hickory Hills here. It's a... oh wait, no, let's start with this Champion Starfire. Overstable in the wind, a little shorter than my PD2. Lay it out on a nice hyzer headwind, drop in every time. You should check it out.
Got a couple... I got a turn here. It's a Champion Metal Flake Hickory Hills turn. Great disc. I hear Ken Climo just got him in the bag. He just did his in the bag actually, which is why I'm doing mine. He inspired me to do this for you guys. And he's got it, so you know it's good. I don't need to see anything else about it. You should check it out.
Got also another Hickory Hills disc here. It's a Pro Katana. Understable, nice and flat. Lay it out there, it'll slide. Great distance. Not good into a headwind, a little touchy with the headwind, but it's very good tailwind or turnover drive. You should check it out.
Fairway drivers, I only carry two. I like to keep my sniper bag simple. So I carry two Teebirds. No big whoop. Everyone knows what a Teebird does. You guys should check them out if you aren't throwing Teebirds.
Got a Viper. Specialty disc. Little utility disc. It'll flap out a nice forehand, come back every time. Flex shots. A DX Viper, been around for years. You know what it's about. Get one, check it out.
Got a carry a Stingray. Star Stingray, 167g. Straight turnover disc. Crush it hard, turn over, you know, in the 300, 350 range every time. Lays down nice and flat. If you don't throw a Star Stingray, you should check it out.
Rocs really mean to my game. Pretty big deal with the Rocs. I got the Paul McBeth... Paul McBeth, I don't know if you've heard of him, pretty big deal. He's got a disc, it's called a Roc3. Probably got some other ones too. Very stable. Throw it flat, go straight long ways, maybe a little fade at the end. Can put it on an Annie if you need to. It's not a big deal, come on.
The McBeth Roc3. Treat me right. Secondary treat. How did McBeth treat you poorly? Again. Paul, yourself, check it out. Support Paul McBeth. He's a pretty good guy.
Got a couple other DX Rocs here. Marshall Street flat top. It's orange, that's why I bought it. 180g. I don't know, this actually is an Ice Bowl Roc. Use it for turnovers. I flatten it myself. Oh dude, take that off the video. Take that off the video.
I'm going to move on to my putters. Carry this Factory Second Aviar. Stable upshots. Great disc, great disc. You should check it out.
Main putting, main putter I throw with is a Star Aviar. Beadless. The McPro was based off of it, just a different plastic. I talked to Dave about it and he hooked me up with that disc. I thought it was a good idea, so you know, you can thank me for the McPro Aviar. Really beadless, hard plastic.
They got a mini. It's got an arrow on it and my last name. I put the arrow where I want the disc to go. Works every time. This is over. We're done here.
Right there. I'm selling it all on Craigslist.
