Dear colleagues, good afternoon. On our agenda are issues relating to the socio-economic development of Donbas and Novorossiya. I would like to remind you that just over three years ago, in April 2023, a comprehensive program on this matter was approved. Ambitious objectives were set to ensure the close integration of our historic territories into the country's unified legal, economic, educational, cultural, and information space. Today, we will assess the results achieved. And most importantly, we will once again analyze together the areas where additional efforts are needed and where closer coordination is required, taking into account the current situation and operational reports from regional leaders. We will see where resources should be prioritized and where, as I have already noted, additional support from the federal authorities is required.
I would like to emphasize once again that, according to the plans, by 2030, the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics, as well as the Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions, are set to meet national standards across all key indicators relating to people's quality of life. To this end, the program provides for some 300 different measures. These include the development of social, housing, transport, and utility infrastructure, as well as the implementation of projects aimed at launching new industrial and agricultural enterprises and creating additional modern jobs. It is important that all federal agencies have joined in this major effort. 26 state-owned companies and 82 constituent entities of the Federation, which have taken on the patronage of specific districts and settlements in the reunited regions. In fact, the whole of Russia, hundreds of work collectives, volunteer movements, and public organizations have lent a helping hand to Donbas and Novorossiya. They have united to help unlock the colossal potential of these lands and create the conditions for a productive and stable life there.
I am sincerely grateful to everyone involved in this immense work. I know that you have to work in a very tense, difficult, and at times dangerous combat environment. On the front line amidst drone attacks and shelling, our troops are maintaining a strategic advantage, advancing confidently, and no amount of shelling or drone strikes will change this situation now. We are advancing in all directions. The enemy cannot withstand this onslaught and is resorting to outright terrorist methods, striking civilian facilities and infrastructure, as well as passenger transport. I would like to thank all the residents of Donbass and Novorossiya for their courage and resilience.
And of course, the doctors, teachers, utility workers, drivers, staff of many departments, and specialists who are conscientiously carrying out their professional duties and achieving significant results. I can report that in total more than 25,000 different facilities have been restored or rebuilt, including schools, hospitals, and clinics, sports grounds, and energy and utility infrastructure. Around 1 million square meters of housing has been completed. Nearly 260 industrial enterprises have been launched, and some 19 million tons of grain have been harvested. A wide range of tools and mechanisms has been used to provide support to businesses, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises. Furthermore, over 8 thousand kilometers of roads have been repaired and constructed, including sections of the Azov Ring. A modern motorway connecting our Azov regions. It is designed to improve transport accessibility to these areas and open up new opportunities for investment, logistics, and trade.
I would like to say a few words here about the recently approved development strategy for the Azov region. It covers our historic regions of Donbass and Novorossiya and should help to expand transport and tourism infrastructure, bring agricultural land into use, and take the region to a new level. It covers our historic regions of Donbass and Novorossiya and should help to expand transport and tourism infrastructure, bring agricultural land into use, take the fisheries sector to a new level, and rectify the accumulated damage to the environment. As a result, the resource and recreational potential of the Azov region should increase significantly.
I would like to take this opportunity to ask my colleagues in the government, together with the Agency for Strategic Initiatives, local leaders, and business representatives to focus their efforts on implementing the strategy. Crucially, we must more actively introduce cutting-edge scientific and technological solutions and create conditions to attract investment and technological development projects in this region. This is the foundation for long-term sustainable growth. As a result, the development strategy for the Azov region and the socio-economic development program for Donbass and Novorossiya will effectively complement one another, ensuring a comprehensive approach to the restoration of our historic regions.
Let me repeat, we must not merely rebuild and repair everything that has been destroyed and damaged. Lay the foundations for a radical transformation of the economy and industry of the Donbas and Novorossiya. We must ensure that all spheres of life in these regions receive a powerful impetus for development so that people can see real changes for the better. This is our key national priority. And it must be carried out to the letter. There is a great deal of work ahead of us. As you are well aware, the program for the socio-economic development of the Donbas and Novorossiya runs until 2030.
