Sonia Jain, Chief Financial Officer at Cars.com Inc., has spoken about her experience as a motorcyclist and entrepreneur. She described herself as a Limca Book of Records holder for riding more than 100 motorcycles of different categories and the founder of Turf and Tarmac, a travel and automobile company. Jain stated that she started the company to share her experiences with others, explaining that "Turf" refers to the sports fields where she played athletics and basketball, and "Tarmac" represents the road for bikes, cars, and travel. She said she has ridden over 250 bikes and believes that building a business from passion can inspire innovative financial strategies aligned with purpose-driven entrepreneurship. In a 2020 TEDx talk, Jain recounted that she was molested by her boss while working at Yamaha. She said she complained against him despite advice from family and friends, and that he was asked to leave. Jain stated that he then threatened to ruin her and that he made sure she did not get jobs with other companies by providing negative references. She said she chose to complain for her own integrity and for other women who were unable to raise their voices. Jain has also said that inside the riding fraternity, everyone is equal, and she has encouraged others not to let anyone tell them what they are worth.
