Bertrand Loy, CEO of Entegris, has emphasized the company's significant investment in Taiwan, describing the opening of a new manufacturing site in Kaohsiung as the largest and most advanced facility for Entegris globally, representing a half-billion-dollar investment. He stated that the company values the quality of Taiwan's workforce and plans to add several hundred employees there. Loy also commented on the semiconductor industry's resilience during the Russia-Ukraine crisis, saying the industry was able to rapidly identify alternative suppliers and that most related concerns are now in the past. Loy has discussed the company's strategic focus on materials science and material security to enable customer technology roadmaps. He noted that Entegris has outpaced the semiconductor industry's growth by two to three points annually since 2010 by identifying emerging trends. Loy has also highlighted the company's quality improvements, stating that defective parts per million fell from about 50,000 fifteen years ago to less than 100 today. He described the fourth Industrial Revolution as a "data revolution" that will create significant opportunities for the semiconductor industry, predicting the industry could double in size to $1 trillion in less than a decade driven by applications like AI and autonomous driving.
